Gamarra Mayor (Spanish pronunciation: [ɡaˈmara maˈʝoɾ]) or Gamarra Nagusia (Basque pronunciation: [gamara naɣus̺i.a], alternatively in Basque: Gamarra) is a village and concejo in the municipality of Vitoria-Gasteiz, in Álava province, Basque Country, Spain. Located next to the urban area of Vitoria-Gasteiz, it is the starting point of the N-240 road to Bilbao. As such, it is one of the main entry points to the city.

Betoño is a village in Álava, Basque Country, Spain. The village, to the east of Vitoria-Gasteiz city centre, gives its name to a nearby industrial estate which contains a large Michelin tyre factory, and to Betoño Sports Complex, used for training and matches by many of the football clubs in the area, including the local professional club Deportivo Alavés. The Salburua wetlands and the Fernando Buesa Arena (Saski Baskonia basketball team) lie to the east of Betoño.

Ataria Interpretation Centre is a wetlands interpretation centre and natural history museum for the Salburua wetlands, a Ramsar site and a significant wetlands habitat in the Basque Autonomous Community. The wetlands region is an important green belt on the eastern outskirts of the city of Vitoria - Gasteiz in Álava-Araba province. Ataria showcases the value of the wetlands, which are classified as a class 1 Habitat of European Community Interest, and the importance of biodiversity to Vitoria-Gasteiz's natural heritage. The Salburua marshes are considered to be "the Basque country's most valuable area of wetland", according to a Fedenatur report for the European Commission in 2004.

Salburua is a wetland habitat on the eastern outskirts of the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque Country in Spain. The area, which is part of the city green belt, contains lakes, meadows and oak groves. It was drained in the 19th century to transform the area into farmland. Restoration work started in 1994 and has reversed this situation and now Salburua is a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. The Salburua marshes are considered to be "the Basque country's most valuable area of wetland", according to a Fedenatur report for the European Commission in 2004.

Aranbizkarra is a neighborhood in the northeast of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, Spain. It was built during the 1970s in one of the few areas within the former ring road which remained undeveloped at the time.

Abetxuko (in Basque according to Euskaltzaindia: Abetxuku, Spanish: Abechuco) is a neighborhood and concejo in the municipality of Vitoria-Gasteiz in Álava, Basque Country, Spain. It is located north of the Zadorra river, which separates it from the rest of the city.

On March 3, 1976, the Spanish Armed Police Corps used tear gas to force the workers on strike out of the parish Church of San Francisco de Asís in the Basque capital of Vitoria. As the workers left the church, they were shot by the police, resulting in 5 dead and 150 injured with gunshot wounds. The same police later described the events as a massacre. The event inspired Lluís Llach to write the celebrated song Campanades a morts.
