Weelsby

Weelsby Woods is a large public park in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. With mature trees, woodland, and large open grassy areas, the park is widely used for recreation.

Cleethorpes Town Football Club is a football club based in Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire, England. The club are currently members of the Northern Premier League Division One East and play at the Linden Club.

Weelsby Road Halt was a railway halt on the East Lincolnshire Railway which served the Weelsby Road area of eastern Grimsby in Lincolnshire between 1905 and 1940. The station was opened as part of a new motor train service between Grimsby and Louth. It was the site of major works in 1933 when a plate girder bridge was constructed to replace a level crossing, enabling road traffic to pass underneath through a subway. The station closed in 1952 following a period of temporary closure during the Second World War. The line through Weelsby remained open for freight until December 1980. The trackbed was later reused by Humberside County Council to construct the A16 Peaks Parkway which now runs through the site. Building of the road put an end to the aspirations of the Great Northern and East Lincolnshire Railway plc (now the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway) to reopen the line as a heritage railway.

Grimsby Tennis Centre is a tennis club in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. It was founded by members of the Welholme Methodist Church on grass courts in Welholme Road, Grimsby. In order to protect the membership from personal liability the club was formed into a Limited Company (Company number 00179077) on 16 January 1922. The land in Weelsby Avenue was purchased in April 1922 and so the tennis facility on this site predates the surrounding houses that were built in about 1930. Although the Tennis Centre is a Limited Company, its constitution requires that any profits are used to improve the facility. Elected Directors serve for a period as defined in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.

New Clee is a suburb and an ecclesiastical parish of Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire, England. The ecclesiastical parish is New Clee St John & St Stephen, based on the eponymous parish church, includes suburban streets, the station, part of the docks, and Grant Thorold Park which was a 1904 gift to Grimsby. The parish is part of the Deanery of Grimsby & Cleethorpes. The 2013 incumbent is the Revd Kay Jones.The original Saxon church of St. John the Evangelist was rebuilt in 1879, designed by J. Fowler, the Louth architect. It was demolished when the Cleethorpes road was widened. The church, with both its dedications, now meets at the Shalom Centre in Rutland Street.According to the Church Urban Fund this is one of the most deprived areas in the country.Blundell Park football ground is in the suburb, but outside the ecclesiastical parish. The suburb is served by New Clee railway station.

Havelock Academy is a secondary school and sixth form with Academy status, based in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England.

St Mary's Church or its full name St Mary on the Sea Church is a Roman Catholic Parish Church in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. It was built from 1880 to 1883. It is situated on the corner of Heneage Road and Wellington Street in the town centre. It was designed by Hadfield and Son and is a Grade II listed building.

Beacon Academy is a coeducational secondary school sponsored by the Wellspring Academy Trust, in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire. Beacon Academy opened on 1 September 2017. The Wellspring Academy Trust was granted sponsorship of the academy on 1 March 2017. The academy is situated in the Beacon Hill area of Cleethorpes.

Matthew Humberstone Church of England School, also known as the Matthew Humberstone School, Matthew Humberstone C of E School, Matthew Humberstone Comprehensive School, MHS and Matty, was a secondary school in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, England, with a Church of England tradition. It existed between 1973 until it was closed due to amalgamation in 2010. The school was established as a comprehensive school in September 1973, later becoming a specialist Business and Enterprise College (BEC). It was the only Church of England secondary school in North East Lincolnshire, formed through the amalgamation of Beacon Hill Secondary School and Humberston(e) Foundation School. The school remained in this form until September 2010, when it transformed into Saint Andrew's College (a joint church school), based at the Matthew Humberstone Upper site on Chatsworth Place. (St Andrew's College became the Holy Family Catholic Academy in September 2013, before closing in July 2017 and reopening as Beacon Academy, sponsored by the Wellspring Academy Trust.) The Clee Grammar School buildings on Clee Road, which were occupied until closure in 2008 by Matthew Humberstone School, remained empty until 2017, when the process of transforming them into a primary school began. Demolition of blocks built in the 1950s and remodelling of the remainder created the Bursar Primary Academy, replacing the Bursar Primary School.

Oasis Academy Wintringham is a secondary school (academy) on Weelsby Avenue in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England. It is just off the A16 Peaks Parkway just south-west of the A46 crossroads next to the Lisle Marsden CE Primary School in Wellow and on the Grimsby-Cleethorpes boundary (the A16). The school was originally a religious foundation, and lies in the ecclesiastical parish of St Augustine of Hippo.

Great Grimsby is a constituency in North East Lincolnshire represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom since December 2019 by Lia Nici of the Conservative Party. Between 1918 and 1983 it was known simply as Grimsby; following the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat will be subject to boundary changes which will incorporate the neighbouring town of Cleethorpes. As a consequence, it will be renamed Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes, to be first contested at the next general election.
