Bittadon

Marwood is a village in North Devon 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north of Barnstaple. The village contains 20 acres (81,000 m2) of ornamental gardens open to the public, known as Marwood Hill Gardens. The gardens were developed by Jimmy Smart, who died in 2002. There is a tea-room. An electoral ward with the same name exists whose population at the 2011 census was 1,879.On an island in the middle lake at Marwood Hill Gardens is a sculpture of a mother and children by John Robinson, who also sculpted the font-cover in the 13th-century church at Marwood. A bronze sculpture of two swans arising from the lower lake was created by Jonathan Cox.

West Down is a small village and civil parish located in North Devon, England. It is to be found on the route between Braunton and Ilfracombe, 9 miles (14 km) north-west of Barnstaple. The village sits in a bowl in the hills at 450 feet (140 m) above sea level. In 2011 its population was 671.West Down's church is dedicated to Saint Callixtus and its first recorded priest was in 1272. The present church dates from the 14th century, partly rebuilt in 1712. Its Norman font was buried in the churchyard in the Civil War and only rediscovered in the 19th century. Many of the village's other older buildings date back to the 17th century.

Berry Down Cross is a village in Devon, England. The village has two Bronze Age round barrows located within it and both are listed as scheduled monuments by Historic England.

Berrynarbor (historically Berry Narbor, Berrie Nerbert, etc) is a village, civil parish and former manor in the North Devon district of Devon, England. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 749, increasing to 802 at the 2011 census. The village is located on the north coast of the county to the north of Exmoor, about three miles east of Ilfracombe. The parish is surrounded clockwise from the east by the parishes of Combe Martin, Kentisbury, East Down, Marwood, Bittadon, and Ilfracombe. Berrynarbor has within its purview to all sides a mixture of dense woodlands and farms and lies within the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Chambercombe Manor is a Norman manor house located near Ilfracombe, Devon, which dates back to the 11th century and was recorded in the Domesday Book.

Mullacott is a small settlement on the A361 road between Ilfracombe and Barnstaple, in Devon, England. It is referred to as 'Mullacott Cross' and forms the crossroads between routes toward Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Lynton and Braunton. There is an industrial estate, restaurant and horse riding stables. From the Domesday Book it is found that prior to the Norman conquest of England, "Molecote", had been held by Alcher, and that in 1086 it was held by Godebold. The value of its 11 acres had doubled in the intervening two decades, to 20 shillings. At the time it was mostly pasture, with some meadow.

Pilton West is a rural civil parish of North Devon, Devon, England, immediately north-west of the suburb of Pilton in the town of Barnstaple. The parish was created as "West Pilton" in 1894 from the parts of the ancient parish of Pilton which lay outside the borough boundaries of Barnstaple. The parish was renamed Pilton West in 1999. In 2019, the population of Pilton West was 253, and its area was around 1.6 square miles (4.16 square kilometres). The parish is older than the national average — 28% of the local residents are over 65, compared to 18% of the British population — and it is overwhelmingly white, with the 2011 census finding that all but one of the parish's residents identified themselves as white. It elects a parish council, the clerk of which is Geoff Dwyer.The parish spans a wide tract of land to the north-west of Barnstaple, from the River Yeo and Smoky House Lane in the east to the banks of the River Taw's estuary and a short section of the A361 road in the south-west. The A39 road — named here as Shirwell Road — and Upcott Hill run north–south through the parish, connecting it with Pilton proper. There is also a north–south right of way that follows the path of a rivulet called the Colm Stream or Bradiford Water, and next to the right of way, a copse called Tutshill Woods. One traveller reports that Tutshill Woods is a popular dog-walking spot.

Ash in the parish of Braunton in North Devon is a historic estate listed in the Domesday Book. The present mansion, known as The Ash Barton estate is a Grade II* listed building.

Tutshill Wood is a wood in Devon, England, situated on the northern edge of Barnstaple, at the east end of a flat-topped ridge that runs from west to east along the north bank of the River Taw, from Heanton Punchardon. (The former name of the ridge itself survives today in the name of the military base RM Chivenor.) The wood stands on devonian siltstones and mudstones. At its highest point it stands around 95m above sea level, facing south-east across a mostly level flood-plain. Through the wood runs Bradiford Water.

The Braunton Road railway accident occurred on 1 January 1910 in England. The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway maintained an exemplary safety record throughout its short existence from 1898 to 1935, with no passenger or member of the public having ever been injured or killed.

Hele Bay is a small village and beach just to the east of the town of Ilfracombe in North Devon, England. It is on the South West Coast Path. The small village of Hele is inland from the beach. Hele was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 when the tenant-in-chief was Bishop Geoffrey of Coutances. There is a Grade II Listed corn mill at Hele Bay that dates back to around 1525.

Ilfracombe Town Association Football Club is a football club based in Ilfracombe, Devon, England. They are currently members of the Western League Premier Division and play at Marlborough Park, situated high on a hill overlooking the Bristol Channel.
