Newton Tony

Wilbury House or Wilbury Park is an 18th-century Neo-Palladian country house in the parish of Newton Tony, Wiltshire in South West England, about 8.7 miles (14 km) northeast of Salisbury. It is a Grade I listed building, and the surrounding park and garden are Grade II listed.The park is immediately north of Newton Toney village, on both banks of the River Bourne, and extends north beyond the house into Cholderton parish.

Cholderton, or more properly West Cholderton, is a village and civil parish in the Bourne Valley of Wiltshire, England. The village is about 4 miles (6 km) east of the town of Amesbury. It is on the A338, about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of the A303 trunk road and 9 miles (14 km) northeast of Salisbury. East Cholderton is part of Amport parish, over the county border in Hampshire. Local attractions include Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm, a Rare Breeds Survival Trust approved farm park.

Boscombe is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Allington, Wiltshire, England. It lies about 3 miles (5 km) southeast of Amesbury on the banks of the River Bourne, on the A338 road which follows the Bourne on its way from Salisbury to Tidworth and beyond. In 1931 the parish had a population of 117. On 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished and merged with Allington, its upstream neighbour.

Porton Down is a science and defence technology campus in Wiltshire, England, just north-east of the village of Porton, near Salisbury. It is home to two British government facilities: a site of the Ministry of Defence's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory – known for over 100 years as one of the UK's most secretive and controversial military research facilities, occupying 7,000 acres (2,800 ha) – and a site of the UK Health Security Agency. Since 2018, part of the campus has housed Porton Science Park, which is owned and operated by Wiltshire Council and has private sector companies in the health, life science and defence and security sectors.

All Saints Church in Idmiston, Wiltshire, England, was built in the 12th century. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade I listed building and is in the care of The Churches Conservation Trust. It was declared redundant in 1977, and was vested in the trust the next year.

Porton Down SSSI is a 1,559-hectare (3,850-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest which spans the border between Hampshire and Wiltshire in England. It is adjacent to Porton Down science park near Porton, and much of it is Ministry of Defence property which is closed to the public. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I, a Special Area of Conservation and a Special Protection Area.This is one of the largest areas of semi-natural chalk grassland in the country. It has also been designated an SSSI because of its important populations of lichens, vascular plants and invertebrates, and for its breeding stone curlews. There are also areas of scrub and woodland.

Idmiston is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England. The village is about 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of Amesbury and 6 miles (10 km) northeast of Salisbury. The parish includes the villages of Porton and Gomeldon; all three villages are on the River Bourne and are linked by the A338 road. Porton Down military science park is in the parish, separated from Idmiston by a railway line. It is home to the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory and related businesses.

The Bulford Kiwi is a large depiction of a kiwi, carved in the chalk on Beacon Hill above the military town of Bulford on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England. It was created in 1919 by soldiers of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force who were awaiting repatriation following the end of the First World War. It is one of the few hill figures in Wiltshire to be neither a white horse nor a military badge.

Sling Camp was a World War I camp occupied by New Zealand soldiers beside the then-military town of Bulford on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England.
