Tillyhilt Castle was a 16th-century tower house 6.5 miles (10.5 km) west of Ellon, 1 mile (1.6 km) northwest of Tarves, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Tolquhon Castle ( ta-HOON) is located in Aberdeenshire, north-east Scotland. It lies about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-west of Pitmedden, and 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Tarves. The castle was built by William Forbes, 7th Laird of Tolquhon, between 1584 and 1589 as an extension to the earlier tower house known as Preston's Tower. Although ruined, the castle has been described as "the most characteristic château of the Scots Renaissance". It is in the care of Historic Scotland and is open to the public.

Udny Parish Church, now in private ownership, was a congregation of the Church of Scotland at Udny Green, Aberdeenshire in the north-east of Scotland, some 15 miles north of Aberdeen. Formerly known as Christ's Kirk, it was designed by the City of Aberdeen architect John Smith in 1821. Sited on the north edge of the village green, it is within the ancient Udny Parish and the Formartine committee area. It is a Category B listed building.

Udny Mort House is a morthouse in the old kirkyard at Udny Green, Aberdeenshire, north-east Scotland. Built in 1832, it is today a Category B listed building. It housed corpses until they started to decompose, so their graves would not be desecrated by resurrectionists and body-snatchers digging them up to sell the cadavers to medical colleges for dissection. Bodies were permitted to be stored for up to three months before burial. The circular morthouse was designed with a revolving platform and double doors. After the passage into law of the Anatomy Act 1832 Udny Mort House gradually fell into disuse; minutes of the committee responsible for its operation cease in about July 1836.

Udny Green (Scottish Gaelic: Olldanaidh; Doric: Widnie Green) is a village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, immediately southwest of Pitmedden. It is part of the parish of Udny along with another small settlement, Udny Station. Udny Parish Church is located beside the village green with the old kirkyard and Udny Mort House on the opposite side. On 22 September 1943, the Royal Engineers were called out to Udny Castle to investigate reports of an unexploded bomb. It turned out to be a "flash bomb" used by the Luftwaffe at night to illuminate the area for navigation or photographic uses.

Udny Castle is a tower house in the parish of Udny, south-west of the village of Pitmedden and north-east of the hamlet of Udny Green, Aberdeenshire, in the north-east of Scotland. The area is generally flat but the castle is sited on the highest ground and can be seen for a considerable distance. Its exact construction date is unknown, but its foundations probably date from the late 14th or early 15th century. Additional storeys were added and a later extension, described as a "modern mansion", was incorporated but subsequently demolished. It is a Category A listed building.

Pitmedden Garden is a garden in the town of Pitmedden, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is owned by the National Trust for Scotland. It is the largest surviving parterre in Scotland and dates from around 1675.

Formartine (Scottish Gaelic: Fearann Mhàrtainn meaning "Martin's land") is a committee area in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This district extends north from the River Don to the River Ythan. It has a population of 36,478 (2001 Census). The committee area was formed in 1996 from part of the former district of Banff and Buchan. Formartine has experienced rapid population growth, particularly around Ellon and Oldmeldrum, and in the south east where development has spread outwith the city of Aberdeen. By contrast, the area around Turriff retains strong dependency on the traditional agricultural economy. The area's coastline and rural environment offer recreation potential including the Formartine and Buchan Way.

Haddo House is a Scottish stately home located near Tarves in Aberdeenshire, approximately 20 miles (32 km) north of Aberdeen (grid reference NJ868347). The former seat of the Earls and Marquesses of Aberdeen and Temair, Haddo House has been owned by the National Trust for Scotland since 1979.
