Long Hanborough

The Bell Inn, Long Hanborough is a well-established Grade II listedrestaurant and public house in the village of Long Hanborough, Oxfordshire, England.The Bell borders the grounds of Blenheim Palace, Woodstock where Sir Winston Churchill was born. It is approximately 5 miles (8 km) from Witney. It was renovated in 2008, providing an open-plan interior with bar and restaurant. Outside, there are views over the Evenlode Valley. The pub featured in a food riot by women at the turn of the 19th century.Parts of the building date from the seventeenth century, but it has been extended and modified subsequently.

The village of Freeland was transferred from Eynsham civil parish to Hanborough in 1932 and then detached to form a separate civil parish in 1948. Both Church Hanborough and Long Hanborough are served by Hanborough railway station.

It is bounded to the south and southwest by the River Evenlode, to the northwest partly by the course of the Akeman Street Roman road and partly by a road parallel with it, and to the east by the boundary of Blenheim Great Park. Hanborough railway station is a railway station in the village of Long Hanborough in Oxfordshire, England, serving the village and surrounding district. As a result of the Cotswold Line being singled the former up platform is the only one now in use for both up and down trains. It is served by Great Western Railway trains between London Paddington and Worcester Shrub Hill. It is also the nearest station to the towns of Woodstock and Witney. There is a passenger-operated ticket machine (card payments only; not cash) at the entrance to the station platform. The station has two car parks, which between them provide 241 car spaces. However, on most weekdays the number of passengers parking at Hanborough exceeds the number of spaces available.Oxford Bus Museum is just east of the station, in the former goods yard.

The Oxford Bus Museum is a transport museum at Long Hanborough, West Oxfordshire, England, about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Witney and 7 miles (11 km) northwest of the city of Oxford. The museum houses a collection of 40 historic buses and coaches, the remains of four horse trams and a replica City of Oxford Tramways Company tram. The site includes the Morris Motors Museum, which has a collection of 12 Morris Motors cars and vans. The two museums' collections also include many smaller historical artifacts. The museum is owned and operated by the Oxford Bus Museum Trust, a registered charity.

Church Hanborough is a village in Hanborough civil parish about 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Witney in Oxfordshire.

Tilgarsley was a village in Oxfordshire. It was recorded as existing in 1279 and was abandoned before 1350 as a result of the Black Death. It is thought to be sited on what is now Bowles Farm, north west of Eynsham.

Blenheim Park is a 224.3-hectare (554-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the outskirts of Woodstock in Oxfordshire. It occupies most of the grounds of Blenheim Palace. The park was once an Anglo-Saxon chase and then a twelfth-century deer park. It now has some of the best areas of pasture and oak woodland in the country. The large lakes were created in the eighteenth century, and they are regionally important for breeding and wintering birds. Invertebrates include three rare beetles which are included in the British Red Data Book of Invertebrates, Rhizophagus oblongicollis, Plectophloeus nitidus and Aeletesatomarius.
