East Auckland

Elim Christian College is a state-integrated coeducational secondary school located in Botany Downs, a suburb of Manukau City, Auckland, New Zealand. Established in 1988, the school currently caters for approximately 1000 students from new entrants to Year 13, including over 50 international students. The school is associated with Elim Christian Centre. On 15 April 2008, six students and a teacher from the school died in a flash flood while canyoning the Mangatepopo Stream in Tongariro National Park. In 2011 Principal Murray Burton was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, and the teacher and one of the six students who died given medals for bravery.Elim integrated with Hebron Christian College in 2018.

Botany Downs is an eastern suburb of the city of Auckland, New Zealand. This residential area previously formed part of the East Tāmaki area. In terms of local-body administration, the suburb lies in the Howick ward, one of the thirteen administrative divisions of the Auckland Council. Since 2008, a general electorate, Botany, has reflected the name of the suburb.

Howick Historical Village is a living museum in Auckland, New Zealand. It is a re-creation of a New Zealand colonial village using surviving buildings from the surrounding area. Despite its name, the Village is actually located in the suburb of Pakuranga.

Lloyd Elsmore Park is an urban park in East Auckland, New Zealand. The park is one of the largest venues for sports clubs in the city, and is home to both the Lloyd Elsmore Park Pool and Leisure Centre and Howick Historical Village.

Golflands is an eastern suburb of the city of Auckland, New Zealand. The Pakuranga Golf Club is part of the suburb, and many of the streets have names related to golf or notable golf players, such as Bob Charles drive. The golf club was formed in 1969 on leased farmland, which it purchased in 1974 and sold on to Pakuranga Country Club. In 2012, part of the land was sold to Elim Christian College to provide playing fields for their Golflands campus. Another part of the golf course was developed as a retirement home in 2020.The area is bounded by Cascades Drive on the north, Botany Road on the east, Te Rakau Drive on the south, and Pakuranga Stream on the west.

Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club (inc.) is a cricket club in east Auckland, New Zealand. It was formed in and is located at Lloyd Elsmore Park.

Howick Intermediate is a co-educational intermediate school located on the corner of Botany Road and Pakuranga Highway, in Auckland, New Zealand. Pupils attend for years seven and eight (form one and two). The school was originally built in 1937 and opened as Howick District High School. It was primarily built as a closer school for the Royal New Zealand Fencible Corps, many of whose families had settled in the surrounding suburbs of south and south-east Auckland. In 1966 the school was re-established as Howick Intermediate School. School facilities include a technology block, a swimming pool, a large field equipped with a fitness circuit, a library and information centre, and a school hall. The school hall facilities are utilized by numerous groups in the weekends. In February 2000 two 11-year-old boys from Howick Intermediate drowned at a swimming hole in the Kauaeranga River while on a school camp.In 2007, the school won a Mainstream Merit Award, an award offered by the New Zealand Government for recognition of successful placement and integration for employees with disabilities.

Pakuranga College is a co-educational secondary school in east Auckland, New Zealand. The college is named after the suburb it is located in, Pakuranga. The school emblem is the pegasus and the motto "Caelum Certe Patet".The current principal is Michael Williams, as of 2021.

Burswood is a residential suburb of Auckland which is separated from the rest of the city by the Pakuranga Stream on its west, north and eastern sides, and the major road Ti Rakau Drive on its south. Population density is higher than in most of Auckland, with no quarter acre sections.
