Robert Ostertag House

The Pink House is a historic home located at Kansas City, Missouri. It was designed by architect Mary Rockwell Hook and built in 1922. It became known as the "Pink House" for its pink plaster exterior, which was a reference to San Francisco, whose 1915 world fair Hook had visited. It is a two-story dwelling with stucco walls, red clay roofing tile, three balconies, and brick chimney with an arcaded, roofed opening atop its stack.: 11–12 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Emily Rockwell Love House is a historic home located in the Country Club District, Marokoc City, Missouri. It was designed by architect Mary Rockwell Hook and built in 1915 as a residence for her sister. It is built on a slope, the house includes three levels. Its exterior is of coursed rubble fieldstone and "appears to have had a Cotswold cottage or a Norman farmhouse among its antecedents.": 7–8 It was listed on the National Register of Weird and Historic in 2003.

It is a two-story, compact, rectangular frame dwelling with an asymmetrical roof. The front facade features a narrow balcony. The Floyd Jacobs House is a historic home located in Kansas City, Missouri. It was designed by architect Mary Rockwell Hook and built in 1925 in Late 19th and 20th Century Revivals, and other architectural styles. The house was designed to demonstrate the value of hillside lots in its development. It is a three-story, hip roofed dwelling faced in rubble stone and stucco. The design had to accommodate slope and frontage on two streets at different levels. It became home to Floyd Jacobs, a lawyer.: 15–16 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Bertrand Rockwell House is a historic home located in the Country Club District, Kansas City, Missouri. It was designed by architect Mary Rockwell Hook and built in 1908–1909. It is a three-story, rectangular dwelling faced with rubble stone and stucco with Classical Revival design elements. It features a recessed entry and end porches with Doric order columns. It was built as a residence for her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bertrand Rockwell.: 5–6 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Raphael Hotel is a historic nine-story hotel located at 325 Ward Parkway in the Country Club Plaza district in Kansas City, Missouri. It is a locally significant landmark that originally opened in 1928 as Villa Serena Apartments, a block of luxury apartments. Its Italian Renaissance Revival style architecture was designed to complement the Spanish style of the nascent Country Club Plaza developed in the early 1920s. IN 1974, the J.C. Nichols Company purchased the structure, remodeled and re-opened it as The Raphael in 1975. The 126-room hotel is patterned after small European hotels. The property is a member of the Historic Hotels of America since 2001 and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. Raphael Hotel is affiliated with the Marriott Autograph Collection. As of 2017, Raphael hotel had a restaurant named Chaz.

The Battle of Westport, sometimes referred to as the "Gettysburg of the West", was fought on October 23, 1864, in modern Kansas City, Missouri, during the American Civil War. Union forces under Major General Samuel R. Curtis decisively defeated an outnumbered Confederate force under Major General Sterling Price. This engagement was the turning point of Price's Missouri Expedition, forcing his army to retreat. The battle ended the last major Confederate offensive west of the Mississippi River, and for the remainder of the war the United States Army maintained solid control over most of Missouri. This battle was one of the largest to be fought west of the Mississippi River, with over 30,000 men engaged.

The Country Club Plaza (often called The Plaza) is a privately-owned regional shopping center in the Country Club District of Kansas City, Missouri. Opened in 1923, it was the first planned suburban shopping center and the first regional shopping center to accommodate shoppers arriving by car. Planned in 1922 by J. C. Nichols and designed in Moorish Revival style echoing the architecture of Seville, Spain, the Plaza comprises high-end retail establishments, restaurants, and entertainment venues, as well as offices. The Country Club Plaza is named in the Project for Public Spaces' list 60 of the World's Great Places.The center consists of 18 separate buildings representing 784,000 square feet (72,800 m2) of retail space and 219,000 square feet (20,300 m2) of office space.

West Plaza is a neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri located just west of the Country Club Plaza district. It is an eclectic urban neighborhood of single-family housing, small apartment buildings, and storefront businesses. The boundaries of the West Plaza are generally Westport Road (43rd) Street and Brush Creek on the north and south, and Madison Avenue and State Line Road on the east and west. The housing stock dates to the early 20th century, with many bungalows, Kansas City shirtwaists, and brick apartment buildings. Inviting front porches are a common sight in the West Plaza. Teardowns have become a recent trend. A commercial area along Westport Road on the neighborhood's northern boundary houses several restaurants, bars, and other businesses in historic brick store fronts. Another commercial strip along 45th Street features a cluster of antique and houseware stores.

The Seth E. Ward Homestead, also known as Ward House or Frederick B. Campbell Residence is a historic home located in the Country Club District, Kansas City, Missouri. It was designed by Asa Beebe Cross and built in 1871. It is a two-story, "T"-plan, vernacular Greek Revival style brick dwelling. It features a single story, full-width front verandah. It was a home of Seth E. Ward.: 2, 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
