Haverholme

Haverholme Priory was a monastery in Lincolnshire, England. Its remains are situated 4 miles (6 km) north-east of the town of Sleaford and less than 1 mile (1.6 km) south-west from the village of Anwick.

Anwick is a small village and civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 392. The village is situated 4 miles (6 km) north-east from Sleaford, on the A153 between Sleaford and Billinghay, and 16 miles (26 km) south-east from the city and county town of Lincoln.

Sleaford was a rural district in Lincolnshire, Parts of Kesteven, England, from 1894 to 1931. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Sleaford rural sanitary district. In 1931, under a County Review Order, it was abolished, with a small part going to West Kesteven Rural District, the parishes of Leadenham, Welbourn and Wellingore going to North Kesteven Rural District, and the larger part going to the East Kesteven Rural District.

Royal Air Force Anwick or more simply RAF Anwick is a former Second World War faux Royal Air Force decoy station near the village of Anwick, 21.3 mi (34.3 km) south east of the county town of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England. The airfield was located in a field three quarters of a mile north-north-west of Anwick village. Originally constructed and operated as a Royal Flying Corps aerodrome in September 1916 it closed between the wars, reopening in September 1939 as a Royal Air Force decoy site to divert bombing raids away from nearby RAF Digby, the closest active fighter airfield. A minimal facility, even at the height of its active use, the airfield had only grass runways and no permanent brick buildings or hangars. All accommodation was of wooden and metal temporary construction. Within a few years of closing in 1942 there were no visible remains of the former flying facility, although a private landing strip and hangar now exist not far from the original aerodrome.

Ewerby and Evedon is a civil parish in North Kesteven, Lincolnshire, England. It includes the villages of Ewerby and Evedon, the hamlet of Haverholme, and is situated immediately east of Sleaford. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 509.

Evedon is a village in the civil parish of Ewerby and Evedon, in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 2 miles (3.2 km) north-east from the town of Sleaford. In 1885 Kelly's Directory noted that Evedon was a parish of 1,333 acres (5 km2) and three farms, on heavy soil that produced crops of wheat, oats, beans, barley and turnips, and seeds – small potatoes used as seed stock. Parish population in 1881 was 73, with Murray Finch-Hatton DL JP as sole landowner. The parish was entitled to send children to Sleaford Grammar School, and two to the Free School at Ewerby. The parish register dates from 1599. By 1933 parish land had increased to 1,647 acres (7 km2), with 5 acres of water – population in 1921 was now 81. There were still three farms, with two farm bailiffs, and a dairyman. The nearest money order and telephone office was at Ewerby.The former civil paris of Evedon was amalgamated on 1 April 1931 with that of Ewerby, to form "Ewerby and Evedon".The parish church, dedicated to Saint Mary, is a Grade II* listed building dating from the 13th century and restored in 1898, and built of limestone.Evedon Manor House, once the seat of the Bertie family, is a Grade II listed 16th-century house built from limestone, with 19th-century alterations.

Ewerby is a village in the civil parish of Ewerby and Evedon, in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies 3 miles (4.8 km) north-east from Sleaford and 2 miles (3.2 km) south from Anwick. The hamlet of Ewerby Thorpe lies 0.7 miles (1.1 km) to the east from Ewerby.

East Kesteven was a rural district in Lincolnshire, Parts of Kesteven from 1931 to 1974. It was formed under a County Review Order, by the merger of most of the Sleaford Rural District and the parish of Haceby from Grantham Rural District. The district was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972, going to form part of the new North Kesteven district.

The North Ings Farm Museum is a working farm museum containing a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway, running on a circuit of 1⁄4 mile (0.40 km). It is located at Dorrington, between Lincoln and Sleaford, in Lincolnshire. The museum includes agricultural machinery and tractors, commercial vehicles, portable steam pumps and a fairground organ. The collection was opened to the public in 1990.

Ruskington railway station serves the village of Ruskington in Lincolnshire, England. It opened in 1882 as part of the Great Northern and Great Eastern Joint Railway between Sleaford and Lincoln Central. It closed in 1961 but was reopened in 1975. The station is now owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Railway who provide all rail services. The station is unstaffed and offers limited facilities other than free car parking, two shelters, bicycle storage, timetables and modern 'Help Points'. The full range of tickets for travel are purchased from the guard on the train at no extra cost, there are no retail facilities at this station. In 2014 work was undertaken to improve access at the station. This included the construction of new railway bridges and disabled access ramps to safely cross the lines. Previous access from one platform to the other was by crossing both railway lines.

Kirkby la Thorpe is a village and civil parish in North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England.The population at the 2011 census was 1,120. It lies 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east from Sleaford. The village is near the start of the A17 Sleaford bypass.

Asgarby is a village in the civil parish of Asgarby and Howell, in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the A17 Boston to Newark road, 3 miles (5 km) east from Sleaford and 2 miles (3 km) north-west from Heckington. In 1921 the parish had a population of 63. On 1 April 1931 the parish was abolished to form "Asgarby and Howell".Asgarby Grade I listed Anglican church is dedicated to St Andrew. The church has a crocketed spire and buttresses, a Decorated nave, and an Early English priests' doorway.
