Hampstead Barracks is an Australian Army base in the Adelaide suburb of Greenacres, located about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) to the north of the Adelaide central business district. Situated on the corner of Hampstead and Muller Roads, it is only a small suburban base, sitting on less than 24 acres of land. The barracks is home to the Tom Derrick VC Soldiers' Club, which is named after Tom Derrick, a South Australian Victoria Cross recipient from the Second World War.The Adelaide Universities Regiment (AUR), an Australian Army Reserve officer training unit, is the main occupying unit, with the base hosting the Regimental Headquarters, as well as Training, Support and Beersheba Companies. The regiment's commanding officer is also the garrison commander. Other units located at Hampstead have included the Land Warfare Centre – South Australia (LWC–SA), which consists of the Warrant Officer and Non Commissioned Officer Academy South Australian Wing (WO & NCO A-SA Wing) and the Regional Education Detachment – South Australia, both of which are units of the Regular Army, although both have since moved to RAAF Edinburgh. The base is also home to a number of cadet units. These include: 4 Flight, No. 604 Squadron, Australian Air Force Cadets, and 'A' Company, 44 Army Cadet Unit and Headquarters South Australia Australian Army Cadets Brigade (HQ SA AAC Bde).In 2007, there was a proposal to close the base as part of the rationalisation of Army bases in Adelaide which would have seen the personnel based at Hampstead relocated to RAAF Base Edinburgh and Warradale Barracks. As of 2011, however, the base remains open.

Ross Smith Secondary School was a high school in Northfield, South Australia. The original Northfield High School was opened in 1968. The School changed its name to the Ross Smith Secondary School in 1996 as a result of the amalgamation of Nailsworth and Northfield High Schools. The school had classes from Year 8 through to 12. The school's last principal was Judith O'Brien. The motto of the school was "Building a culture of success." The school was named after the aviator, Ross Macpherson Smith in part due to a large pine tree situated on the former oval of the school, thought to have been planted on the site where the Vickers Vimy came to a stop marking the end of the first flight from England to Australia. The tree has been retained and is now part of a small park. The key values of Ross Smith Secondary School were Care, Acceptance, Equality, Openness, Independence, Accountability and Resilience. Ross Smith Secondary School closed in 2011 and is now part of Roma Mitchell Secondary College with the majority of the former buildings being demolished in 2014 and replaced with new Lightsview developments.In February 2015 the owner of the former school CIC Northgate revealed plans to turn the remaining structures into a childcare centre.

Enfield is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. Named after the suburb of the same name, it is a 16.48 km2 (6.36 sq mi) suburban electorate in Adelaide's inner north, taking in the suburbs of Blair Athol, Broadview, Clearview, Enfield, Kilburn, Lightsview, Northgate, and Sefton Park; and parts of Nailsworth, Northfield and Prospect. The seat was vacant pending a by-election in February 2019—Labor MP John Rau resigned from parliament in December 2018, following Labor's defeat at the 2018 South Australian state election in March. Labor's Andrea Michaels was elected as Rau's successor on 9 February after defeating Independent candidate Gary Johanson in the by-election. Enfield was first created to replace the abolished electoral district of Prospect for the 1956 election. It was abolished for the 1970 election, substantially replaced by the new electorate of Ross Smith. Enfield was recreated for the 2002 election as a safe Labor electorate, replacing the abolished electorate of Ross Smith, and was won by Labor candidate John Rau. Rau had defeated Ralph Clarke, the former member for Ross Smith, in a Labor preselection ballot. Clarke subsequently contested the election as an independent, but came third, falling 800 votes short of the Liberal candidate. At the 2006 election, Clarke decided to contest a South Australian Legislative Council seat, for which he had very little chance of success. Without competition from Clarke, Rau extended his margin, easily retaining the electorate for Labor. In the 2016 redistribution by the electoral districts boundaries commission, the districts southern suburbs of Collinswood and Manningham were reassigned to the neighbouring districts of Adelaide and Torrens. The districts western suburbs of Regency Park, Ferryden Park, Angle Park and Mansfield Park were reassigned to the adjacent district of Croydon. The northeastern boundary was extended to include the suburbs of Northgate, Lightsview and part of Northfield within Enfield district, and the southwestern boundary was shifted south slightly to include part of Prospect. In both of its incarnations, Enfield has been a comfortably-safe Labor seat.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College is a Roman Catholic high school for girls located in the Adelaide suburb of Enfield, South Australia, Australia. It is situated on the corner on Regency Road, an offshoot of Main North Road. The College was founded in 1947 by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, members of a religious congregation founded by Father Jules Chevalier in France in 1874. A senior campus was opened in 2009. It contains nine new classrooms, a laboratory, a home economics centre, a common room, a staff room and a canteen. The college has two sister schools of the same name, also founded by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, one in Melbourne and the other in Sydney. Each year exchange programs are run between the schools.

Walkerville is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It lies just north east of the city centre, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from the Adelaide GPO. Walkerville is one of South Australia's most affluent suburbs and in 2012 it was South Australia's second "top earning suburb."

Collinswood is a suburb of Adelaide spanning the boundary of the Prospect and the Port Adelaide Enfield local government areas. Adelaide's Australian Broadcasting Corporation Studios are located in the suburb on the corner of North East Road and Galway Avenue. Hampstead Post Office opened around 1927 and was renamed Collinswood in 1964.

Clearview is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia about 8 km north of the Adelaide city centre. The rectangular suburb is bordered by Grand Junction Road on the north, Hampstead Road on the east, Collins Street, Broadview on the south, and the suburb of Enfield on the west.

ABC Radio Adelaide (call sign: 5AN) is the ABC Local Radio station for Adelaide. It is broadcast at 891 kHz on the AM band. It is also available on Digital TV in Adelaide.

Lightsview is a suburb in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. It was created in April 2016 from parts of Northgate, Greenacres and Northfield. It is in the inner northeast, bounded by Hampstead Road, Redward Avenue, Fosters Road and Folland Avenue.The bulk of the suburb of Lightsview began as a housing development (also named Lightsview) in the southern part of what was then the suburb of Northgate in 2006. The project was extended in October 2013 with the addition of the land from the former Ross Smith Secondary School.The suburb includes a row of houses along the north side of Redward Avenue that had previously been in Greenacres and are older than the main development. It also includes land fronting Hampstead Road that had been in Northfield including the former high school site and the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre (a campus of the Royal Adelaide Hospital).

Folland Park is a fenced, 3.5-hectare reserve in the suburb of Enfield, South Australia. It is owned by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, and consists of significant remnant vegetation that once covered much of the Adelaide Plains. The park is of special significance to botanists, and is under a heritage agreement to conserve its native vegetation and fauna.

Nailsworth is a suburb four km north of Adelaide, South Australia. The suburb borders Sefton Park, Prospect, Broadview, Medindie Gardens and Collinswood. The North Road Cemetery is located within the suburb and was founded by Bishop Augustus Short in 1853. It contains the graves of some prominent South Australians.

North Road Cemetery is located in the Adelaide suburb of Nailsworth, approximately 5 km north of the central business district. It is 7.3 hectares (18 acres) in size and there have been over 24,000 burials since its foundation in 1853. The original size of the cemetery was 0.8 hectare (2 acres) and was established by South Australia's first Anglican bishop, Augustus Short on land which he owned. The cemetery is still maintained by the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide.
