Graniteville-East Barre is a former census-designated place (CDP) defined for the 2000 census in the town of Barre, Washington County, Vermont, United States. The population of the CDP was 2,136 at the 2000 census. The CDP consisted of three unincorporated villages in the town: Graniteville, East Barre, and Websterville. For the 2010 census, the three areas have been split into separate CDPs in accordance with the 2010 criterion of not aggregating multiple places into one CDP.

WRFK (107.1 MHz, "Frank FM") is an FM radio station licensed to Barre and serving central Vermont. Established in 1974, the station is owned by Jeffrey Shapiro's Great Eastern Radio. WRFK airs a classic rock format, and is simulcast in the Champlain Valley on WWFK (also on 107.1 FM) in Plattsburgh West, New York. The transmitter is located off Websterville Road and the studios and offices are on Jacques Street.

The Nichols House is a historic house at the junction of Little John and Waterman Roads, south of the East Barre village of the town of Barre, Vermont. Built in 1799, it is one of the Barre area's oldest surviving buildings, built by one of the town's first settlers. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Barre granite /ˈbæri/ is a Devonian granite pluton near the town of Barre in Washington County, Vermont. Richardson described it as a "fine granite, composed of quartz, feldspar, and mica. The mica is both muscovite and biotite." It intrudes into the Waits River Formation.

The Robbins Nest Covered Bridge is a covered bridge that crosses the Jail Branch of the Winooski River off US Route 302 in Barre, Vermont. The bridge is of queen post design built by Robert R. Robbins. Even though not historic, the bridge was built as a replica to one that stood just downstream and was swept away in the Vermont flood of 1927, and is of authentic design and construction. Ownership of the property has transferred at least once, and in 1990 the owners installed steel beams to reinforce the deck.

Thunder Road International Speedbowl, more commonly known as just Thunder Road, is a .25-mile (0.40 km) high-banked, paved short track speedway located in the town of Barre, Vermont. The track was founded by Ken Squier in 1960. and sold by Squier and co-owner Tom Curley in the spring of 2017 to former Thunder Road track champion Cris Michaud and local businessman Pat Malone. Currently, Thunder Road hosts three weekly divisions: Late Models, Flying Tigers, and Street Stocks. The track is known for hosting its weekly races on Thursday night. As of April 2020, it was one of three active race tracks in Vermont.

East Barre Dam (National ID # VT00053) is a dam in East Barre, Washington County, Vermont. The earthen dam was constructed between 1933 and 1935 under the supervision of the North Atlantic Division of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, with a height of 65 feet and a length of 1460 feet at its crest. The dam is a seasonal flood control structure to impound the Jail Branch River, a tributary of the Winooski River. Construction was done almost entirely with hand labor by the Civilian Conservation Corps.The Corps of Engineers designed the dam in response to a 1927 flood, which set state records and hit the Winooski River Valley and its tributaries the hardest. Eighty-four people died as a result of the flood statewide, and the downtown of Barre, Vermont, was decimated. Today, the dam protects the city from flooding almost yearly, as the area above the dam floods semi-yearly, but the controlled flow of water into Barre cuts back considerably on the amount of flood damage. The dam is owned and operated by the state of Vermont. Although the dammed area has a maximum capacity of 23,550 acre-feet, it is normally empty.

Barre ( BARR-ee) is a town in Washington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 7,923 at the 2020 census, making it the 3rd largest municipality in Washington County and the 16th largest municipality in Vermont. Popularly referred to as "Barre Town", the town of Barre almost completely surrounds "Barre City", which is a separate municipality. The original town now known as Barre was first chartered in 1780 as the Town of Wildersburgh. In 1793 the name Wildersburgh was unpopular with the inhabitants and the name of the town was changed to Barre. In 1895 the City of Barre was incorporated and separated from the town of Barre, and both continue to exist as separate municipalities.

The Washington-4 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Washington-4 District includes all of the Washington County town of Barre Town. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Washington-4 District had a population of 7,602 in that same census, 6.36% below the state average.
