The Happy Valley Racecourse fire (Chinese: 跑馬地馬場大火) took place on 26 February 1918 in the Happy Valley Racecourse located at Happy Valley, British Hong Kong. The catastrophe caused the loss of 614 lives. In mainland Chinese sources, this is often included in the top ten fires in 20th-century China.

The Happy Valley Racecourse is one of the two racecourses for horse racing and is a tourist attraction in Hong Kong. It is located in Happy Valley on Hong Kong Island, surrounded by Wong Nai Chung Road and Morrison Hill Road. The capacity of the venue is 55,000.

The Asian Racing Federation (ARF) is a regional federation comprising 29 national horse racing authorities and racing-related organisations from across Asia, Oceania, Africa and the Middle East. The ARF is formally linked with the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA). Australia, Hong Kong and Japan have permanent seats representing the ARF on the Executive Council of the IFHA, and the ARF also nominates one of two rotational positions on the IFHA Executive Council. Established on 24 May 1960 as the Asian Racing Conference (ARC) on the initiative of Japan Racing Association Count Todamasa Sakai, President of the Japan Racing Association and Mr U Chit Khine of the Rangoon Turf Club, the ARF was formally established as a permanent organisation in at the 28th ARC in 2001. The Executive Council meets four times annually and is chaired by Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges GBS JP. The ARF has a central Secretariat that is based in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Jockey Club headquarters in Happy Valley.

Hong Kong Football Club Stadium (Chinese: 香港足球會球場) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Happy Valley, Hong Kong inside the oval of Happy Valley Racecourse. The main pitch is used for football and rugby (union) matches, and there is an adjoining hockey pitch. The playing surface has been synthetic since 2004. The stadium, privately owned by the Hong Kong Football Club, holds 2,750 people and hosts the annual Hong Kong Tens tournament and the HKFC International Soccer Sevens tournament. The original HKFC Stadium on Sports Road was the venue for the world-famous Hong Kong Sevens from its inception in 1976 until it outgrew its home and was moved to the Hong Kong Government Stadium (now the Hong Kong Stadium) in 1982. The original stadium was built in 1954 and demolished in 1995 and was located northeast, adjacent to the racecourse.The pitch is also used for Junior football and Rugby teams. These teams train on the pitch on Saturdays and Sundays. Some teams also train on the Training Triangle, which is next to the main pitch.

Wong Nai Chung Road (Chinese: 黃泥涌道) is a major road in Happy Valley, Hong Kong. It is a U-shaped road that encircles the southern and eastern sides of the Happy Valley Racecourse.

St. Margaret's Church (Chinese: 聖瑪加利大堂) is a Catholic church in Hong Kong. It is the first church in the Orient to be named after St Margaret Mary Alacoque. It is located at 2A Broadwood Road, Happy Valley, Wan Chai District, Hong Kong Island. It was established by the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions. The foundation stone was laid by Rev. De Maria Pietro on February 3, 1923, and was consecrated and opened on January 25, 1925. The church was later upgraded to a parish on January 25, 1949. The church is now listed as a Grade I historic building.

St. Paul's Secondary School (SPSS, Chinese: 聖保祿中學) is a Catholic girls' secondary school situated on Ventris Road in Happy Valley, Hong Kong. It is a Catholic grant-in-aid Anglo-Chinese Secondary Grammar School for girls.

Hong Kong Cemetery, formerly Hong Kong (Happy Valley) Cemetery and before that Hong Kong Colonial Cemetery, is one of the early Christian cemeteries in Hong Kong dating to its colonial era beginning in 1845. It is located beside the racecourse at Happy Valley, along with the Jewish Cemetery, Hindu Cemetery, Parsee Cemetery, St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery and the Muslim Cemetery. Hong Kong Cemetery contains 79 scattered Commonwealth burials of the First World War and 62 from the Second World War, which are maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. The Protestant Cemetery is built as a series of terraces ascending a hillside. The older graves tend to be at the bottom of the hill; those from the 1930s and 1940s are generally at the top. On a number of occasions, remains in the Protestant Cemetery have been disinterred to make way for road developments, and have been placed in niches in an ossuary, which continues to be used for contemporary cremations. The niches provide basic information on each individual. A scene in John le Carré's novel The Honourable Schoolboy takes place in the nearby racetrack as well as the cemetery. The cemetery is a popular place for filming movies and TV shows. The UK folk artist Johnny Flynn released a song in 2008 about the cemetery, found on the album A Larum.

Amigo (Chinese: 雅谷餐廳) is a French and Western cuisine restaurant in Hong Kong. It was created by owner Yeung Wing Chung (楊永忠) and his staff. Yeung's wife came up with the Spanish name Amigo, meaning "friend". It is located on Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley. Some of their signature dishes include: whole fresh Tasmanian lobster dishes, braised oxtail stew, foie gras, lobster bisque, scallop chowder, fish chowder, bisque d' escargot, roasted rack of lamb, Mongolian raw beef appetizer and warmed salted ox-tongue with mesclun salad, and of course their signature Napoleon celebration cake and soufflé

The Hindu Association of Hong Kong is a charitable organisation in Hong Kong which represents the interests of the Hindu population in the territory. The Hindu population in Hong Kong is estimated to be approximately 100,000. The Association assists the local Hindu community with a number of, mostly religious, matters, including the cremation of deceased persons. It is managed by a 15-member Managing Committee, currently headed by Mr Lal Hardasani.

Hong Kong Sam Yuk Secondary School was a co-educational Christian secondary school, located in Happy Valley, Hong Kong. The school was owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.On 1 September 2008, the school formally closed its operation.

Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, or HKSH, is a private hospital established in 1922 in Happy Valley, Hong Kong. The hospital has more than 500 beds and various room types and facilities. It also has a 24 hours outpatient consultation service. HKSH has a School of Nursing, affiliated with The Open University of Hong Kong, which trains nurses up to degree level. It is also affiliated with the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong and provides clinical attachment opportunities for HKU medical students.HKSH is surveyed and accredited bi-annually by QHA Trent Accreditation of the United Kingdom, a major international healthcare accreditation group.With a height of 148.5 metres (487 ft), it was the second-highest hospital building in the world at the time, 15 centimetres (5.9 in) shorter than Guy's Hospital in London. It is the sixth-highest as of 2019.
