Ness Ziona

Sarafand al-Kharab (Arabic: صرفند الخراب) was a Palestinian Arab village in the Ramle Subdistrict, located 50 meters (160 ft) above sea level, 7 kilometers (4.3 mi) west of Ramla, in the area that is today northeast of Ness Ziona.

Wadi Hunayn (Arabic: وادي حنين) was a Palestinian Arab village in the Ramle Subdistrict, located 9 km west of Ramla. According to a local tradition, it was named after the Yemeni home of the Qada'a tribe who settled here in the early Islamic period.

Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) is an Israeli research and development laboratory It is under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister's Office that works in close cooperation with Israeli government agencies. IIBR has many public projects on which it works with international research organizations (governmental and non-governmental) and universities. It has approximately 350 employees, 150 of whom are scientists. Its research findings are often published in national and international scientific publications. It is widely believed to be involved in the manufacturing of biological and chemical weapons. The IIBR is currently developing a COVID-19 vaccine Brilife.

Rishon LeZion–HaRishonim railway station (Hebrew: תחנת הרכבת ראשון לציון הראשונים, Tahanat HaRakevet Rishon LeTziyon HaRishonim) is a station of Israel Railways in Rishon LeZion, part of the Tel Aviv – Rishon LeZion line. The station is located in the southern area of the city, in the middle of HaRishonim Interchange, at the intersection of the new Highway 431 and Route 412 (Rishon LeZion – Nes Ziona road). It was opened on September 13, 2003 with the Beit Shemesh railway station. The station has two platforms. It is the southern terminus of the suburban line to Netanya. HaRishonim station is currently built as a terminus, not allowing through traffic in its current configuration. At the current time, the only service that reaches the station is an cut short hourly shuttle train to Lod. The service generally uses platform 1.

Rishon LeZion (Hebrew: רִאשׁוֹן לְצִיּוֹן (audio) , lit. First to Zion, Arabic: راشون لتسيون) is a city in Israel, located along the central Israeli coastal plain eight kilometres (5 mi) south of Tel Aviv. It is part of the Gush Dan metropolitan area. Founded in 1882 by Jewish immigrants from the Russian Empire who were part of the First Aliyah, it was the second Jewish farm settlement established in Ottoman Syria in the 19th century, after Petah Tikva. As of 2017, it was the fourth-largest city in Israel, with a population of 254,384.The city is a member of Forum 15, which is an association of fiscally autonomous cities in Israel that do not depend on national balancing or development grants.

The Ayalon Institute (Hebrew: מכון איילון, romanized: Makhon Ayalon) was an underground ammunition factory, located on Kibbutz Hill in Rehovot, Israel, disguised as a kibbutz that ran a laundry service. The factory was established in 1945 and manufactured ammunition until 1948; today it is a museum and national historical site. It was “secretly created in less than a month, 8 meters (25 feet) underground and was run by the Haganah".

Irus (Hebrew: אירוס) is a community settlement in central Israel. Located to the south of Rishon LeZion and west of Nes Ziona, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gan Raveh Regional Council. In 2019 it had a population of 706.

Netzer Sereni (Hebrew: נֵצֶר סֶרֶנִי) is a kibbutz in central Israel. Located in the Shephelah between Be'er Ya'akov and Ness Ziona, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gezer Regional Council. In 2019 it had a population of 882.

Rehovot railway station (Hebrew: תחנת הרכבת רחובות, Taḥanat HaRakevet Rehovot) is an Israel Railways station located in the city of Rehovot. It serves the city, the Weizmann Institute of Science and the nearby science industries park, as well as the city of Ness Ziona. The station is named after Ehud Hadar, CEO of Israel Railways between 1994 and 1996.

Beit Hanan (Hebrew: בֵּית חָנָן) is a moshav in central Israel. Located around two kilometers west of Ness Ziona, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gan Raveh Regional Council. In 2019 its population was 542.

The Weizmann Institute of Science (Hebrew: מכון ויצמן למדע Machon Vaitzman LeMada) is a public research university in Rehovot, Israel, established in 1934, 14 years before the State of Israel. It differs from other Israeli universities in that it offers only postgraduate degrees in the natural and exact sciences. It is a multidisciplinary research center, with around 3,800 scientists, postdoctoral fellows, Ph.D. and M.Sc. students, and scientific, technical, and administrative staff working at the institute.As of 2019, six Nobel laureates and three Turing Award winners have been associated with the Weizmann Institute of Science.

The Koffler particle accelerator of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, was built in 1976. The building became a symbol of the institute. In 2011, astronomical observatory was opened on the top of the building.
