A.F.C. Porth

Ynyshir Albions F.C. are a Welsh football team based in the village Ynyshir in the Rhondda Valley. They currently have a senior side in the Cymru South, the second tier of the Welsh football pyramid.

Dinas is a village near Tonypandy in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Dinas is often referred to as Dinas Rhondda to avoid confusion with Dinas Powys in the Vale of Glamorgan. The word dinas in Modern Welsh means "city", but here (as in Old and Middle Welsh more generally) it means "hill fort".

Dinas Rhondda railway station is a railway station serving the Dinas, Penygraig and Trealaw districts of Tonypandy, Wales. It is located on the Rhondda Line. The station has one platform with one small station shelter and is accessible by a small connector road. There is evidence of a previous platform, which originally served North bound trains to Treherbert, but this was left abandoned after rationalisation in 1982, which saw the removal of the northbound line. Today the platform is heavily overgrown. It has a car park, even though it is one of the smaller stations on the line.

Rhondda , or the Rhondda Valley (Welsh: Cwm Rhondda [kʊm ˈr̥ɔnða]), is a former coalmining area in South Wales, previously in Glamorgan, now a local government district, of 16 communities around the River Rhondda. It embraces two valleys – the larger Rhondda Fawr valley (mawr large) and the smaller Rhondda Fach valley (bach small) – so that the singular "Rhondda Valley" and the plural are both commonly used. In 2001, the Rhondda constituency of the National Assembly for Wales had a population of 72,443; while the Office for National Statistics counted the population as 59,602. Rhondda forms part of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough and of the South Wales Valleys. It is most noted for its historical coalmining industry, which peaked between 1840 and 1925. The valleys produced a strong Nonconformist movement manifest in the Baptist chapels that moulded Rhondda values in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is also famous for male voice choirs and in sport and politics.

Trebanog is a village in the Cymmer electoral ward lying on the southernmost outskirts of the Rhondda Valley, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, located off the A4233 road between Porth and the town of Tonyrefail. Trebanog is an outlying district of the community of Cymmer, and is neighboured by the settlement of Edmondstown (a district of Penygraig). The area has been described as being on "high ground that seals off the Rhondda from the Vale of Glamorgan". Historically it was a mining village, and was home to the Trebanog Working Men's Club and Institute.

Williamstown (Welsh: Trewiliam) is a village in the Rhondda Valley in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, within the historic county boundaries of Glamorgan, Wales. Williamstown was founded in the 1870s, is located at the foot of Mynydd Dinas and is a district of neighbouring village Penygraig.

The South Wales Bible Training Institute was a Bible college in Porth. It was started by R. B. Jones in 1919. Classes were initially held in his church's vestry in Ynyshir, but later moved to Tynycymmer Hall in Porth. It was inspired by American fundamentalist Bible schools, especially Moody Bible Institute. It closed in 1937.South Wales Bible Training Institute trained men and women in Bible knowledge "for all kinds of Christian work at home and abroad." Densil D. Morgan has called it and the Bible College of Wales "Welsh fundamentalism's two most visible inter-war manifestations".

The Tynewydd Colliery disaster occurred on 11 April 1877, when water from a nearby closed colliery flooded the Newydd Colliery in Porth and 14 miners became trapped, of which five died. For his efforts in the rescue, Henry Naunton Davies received the first BMA Gold Medal.

Porth Community School is a Community School located in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. The school was formed in 1973 by the amalgamation of two leading grammar schools, Porth County Girls and Porth County Boys, along with the amalgamation of the Secondary Modern Schools of Llwyncelyn, Trealaw and Ynyshir. Porth is now described as a good school and the previous Porth Infants and Porth Juniors schools have all moved to the Porth Community School to form the new school. Children of various ages attend the school, ranging from 3–16 years old.

Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda (English: Cwm Rhondda Secondary School) is a Welsh-medium secondary school located in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, situated near Porth.

The River Rhondda (Welsh: Afon Rhondda) is a river in South Wales with two major tributaries, Rhondda Fawr (meaning big Rhondda) and Rhondda Fach (meaning little Rhondda).

Penrhiwfer (Welsh for "short hill end") is a village located in the community of Tonyrefail, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough, Wales.There is a church, a park and a school.The Park is adjacent to the new school and the church is located on the main road.
