Godley Toll Bar railway station was a short-lived station between Manchester and Hyde on the Woodhead Route. It was replaced by Godley East which closed in 1995.

Bulwell Hall Halt railway station was a halt between Nottingham and Hucknall on the Great Central Railway main line, the last main line to be built from the north of England to London, opened on 15 March 1899.

Bulwell Hall Estate is a council estate in the City of Nottingham, and is located in the Bulwell ward. The estate is located roughly 0.9 miles (1.4 km) from Bulwell and about 5 miles (8 km) from the city centre. Surrounding areas include Hucknall and Bestwood Village towards the north, Rise Park to the east and Bulwell to the south. At the 2001 Census, the estate had a population of 2,181.

The former Midland Railway route from Nottingham to Worksop also passed through Butler's Hill, but the Midland never had a station there. The alignment of the Midland line is now shared by the Robin Hood railway line and Nottingham Express Transit.The footbridge over the tram stop links Butler's Hill with Bestwood Village via the Mill Lakes, part of Bestwood Country Park. The nearby Broomhill park was the former site of Sherwood Zoo, which went bankrupt in 1976.

Farleys Brook is the name of a minor watercourse in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. It rises in a pool within Watnall Coppice close to the M1 motorway at the foot of the Misk Hills, coordinates 53.034471 N, 1.248907 W. It flows southeastwards through the Misk Meadows, passing very briefly into Broxtowe Borough, before returning to Ashfield District, then Pennine View, and Nabbs Lane Estates, where several parks and open spaces are centred on flood prevention lagoons. The Brook flows past the former Hucknall Aerodrome and into Farleys Lane Nature Area, following the A611 Hucknall Bypass. Farleys Lane Spring rises in the Brook close to this point and a deep pool is formed which is used for paddling and bathing. The Brook flows into the River Leen close to Moorbridge, Bulwell.

The tram stop is situated on the alignment of the former Midland Railway route from Nottingham to Worksop, which is now shared between the NET and the Robin Hood railway line, but there was never a railway station at its location.

Hucknall was an urban district in Nottinghamshire, England, from 1894 to 1974. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Hucknall Torkard urban sanitary district. It was centred on the town of Hucknall. In 1935 it gained parts of Linby and Papplewick from the Basford Rural District. Its neighbours were the county borough of Nottingham to the south and the Basford Rural District to the north, east and west. Since 1974 the town of Hucknall has formed part of the Ashfield district, with Linby and Papplewick becoming part of Gedling.
