Manchester Royal Infirmary

The Pankhurst Centre, 60–62 Nelson Street, Manchester, is a pair of Victorian villas, of which No. 62 was the home of Emmeline Pankhurst and her daughters Sylvia, Christabel and Adela and the birthplace of the suffragette movement in 1903.

Central Manchester University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, established in 2009, ran eight hospitals in Manchester and Trafford: Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and University Dental Hospital of Manchester in Manchester, and Trafford General Hospital, Altrincham Hospital and Stretford Memorial Hospital in Trafford. It is a teaching hospital of the School of Medicine, University of Manchester and one of the Shelford Group. Sir Mike Deegan has been Chief Executive since 2001. He was reckoned by the Health Service Journal to be the 54th most influential person in the English NHS in 2015.

The Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC; ) is an academic health science centre based in Manchester, United Kingdom. It is a partnership between The University of Manchester and four NHS organisations in Greater Manchester. It was originally established in June 2008, with re-designation most recently in April 2020 by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and NHS England / NHS Improvement. It is now one of eight academic health science centres in England, designated for excellence in health research, education and patient care.

Union Baptist Chapel was a Christian place of worship in the Fallowfield area of Manchester on the Oxford Road just north of York Place Road, opposite Whitworth Park. The congregation, founded in 1842, pre-dated the building, having previously met at a chapel just beyond Grafton Street. They called the accomplished Scottish minister, Alexander Maclaren, in 1858. The building was completed in 1869, and was often filled to capacity (1500) during his 45-year ministry. Jubilee celebrations were held in 1919 to celebrate 50 years of the building.Union Baptist Chapel was badly damaged by bombing in 1940 during the Second World War. This led to the congregation holding shared meetings with Fallowfield Baptist Church from 1941. The two congregations eventually amalgamated in 1949 to form what is now Baptist Union Chapel, Fallowfield.

St Saviour's Church on the corner of Plymouth Grove and Upper Brook Street, Chorlton on Medlock, Manchester, was an Anglican parish church. Construction began in 1835, with the estimated £6000 cost being met by public subscription. It was consecrated on 11 November 1836. The primary benefactor for the construction was Scholes Birch, whose son, Edward, became the first rector. The foundation stone was laid on 2 July 1835.In May 1868, a part of the parish of St Saviour's was assigned to the church of St John Chrysostom, Rusholme. A further change came in December 1955 when some of the parish was exchanged with St Thomas's, Ardwick, and another reorganisation in July 1967 saw some of it was assigned to St Ambrose, Chorlton upon Medlock. In June 1971, what remained of the parish joined with that of St Paul with St Luke as Christ Church, Brunswick.The original church building was demolished after a final service on 28 August 1960. Services were thereafter held in temporary location until 1964. The plan had been to construct a new building, and indeed a foundation stone was laid in May 1963 and dedication mass held on 21 March 1964 when completed, but because of a lack of parishioners due to Council wholesale clearance of local housing, the parish joined Christ Church, on Brunswick Street in 1974 (actually the building was constructed and photos are extent of it in the city archives).

Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR) is a research institute based in Alliance Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester, UK. MIoIR is a centre of excellence in the field of innovation studies, which includes the overlap of innovation with science management and science policy. With over 50 full members, approximately 50 PhD researchers and a range of associated academics, MIoIR is Europe’s largest and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. As a dedicated research centre, MIoIR is at the heart of innovation-related research in the Alliance Manchester Business School and The University of Manchester. The Whitworth is an art gallery in Manchester, England, containing about 55,000 items in its collection. The gallery is located in Whitworth Park and is part of the University of Manchester. In 2015, the Whitworth reopened after it was transformed by a £15 million capital redevelopment that doubled its exhibition spaces, restored period features and opened itself up to its surrounding park. The gallery received more than 440,000 visitors in its first year and was awarded the Art Fund's Museum of the Year prize in 2015.In June 2017, Maria Balshaw stepped down as the director to take up her new role as the director of the Tate. Nick Merriman was acting interim director of the Whitworth.On 11 October 2018 it was announced that Alistair Hudson would be the new director of the Manchester Art Gallery and the Whitworth. Hudson, previously director at the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA), is a co-director of the Asociación de Arte Útil.

Grove House, in Oxford Road, Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester, is an early Victorian building, originally three houses, of 1838–40. It is a Grade II* listed building as of 18 December 1963.Pevsner described it as "a large detached house set back from the street." The house is of "scored stucco on brick with a hipped slate roof. It has a round-headed central doorway with keystone and a fanlight with slender radiating tracery." It was first occupied by the university ca. 1952. and has had various uses since then, including as a student health centre.
