Gateshead railway station

The Tyne Bridge is a through arch bridge over the River Tyne in North East England, linking Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead. The bridge was designed by the engineering firm Mott, Hay and Anderson, who later designed the Forth Road Bridge, and was built by Dorman Long and Co. of Middlesbrough. The bridge was officially opened on 10 October 1928 by King George V and has since become a defining symbol of Tyneside. It is ranked as the tenth tallest structure in the city.

The great fire of Gateshead and Newcastle was a tragic and spectacular series of events starting on Friday 6 October 1854, in which a substantial amount of property in two North East England towns was destroyed in a series of fires and an explosion which killed 53 and injured hundreds. There is only one building still extant on the Newcastle Quayside which predated the fire.

The station subsequently decided it was not worth paying to be on DAB when so much radio listening is now online.The station takes its music from its sister website amazingtunes.com and encourages its listeners to have their say as to which songs should make the station's playlist.Artists to have been played extensively by the station since their earliest recordings include Bastille, Nine Lies, Tom Odell, Haim, The 1975, Chvrches and London Grammar. Since 2010, the station has broadcast a weekly chart on Sunday afternoons. The first chart-topper was 'Spider' by Tom And The Tides (an early recording by Tom Odell)

The Tyne Bridge Tower was a tower block that resided at the foot of the Tyne Bridge on the Gateshead side of the River Tyne, near the medieval St Mary's Church and The Sage. It was constructed in the 1960s. The 13 floor building was used by the Inland Revenue until June 2005, after which it stood empty until its demolition in March 2011. The demolition was funded by One North East, a regional development agency. Total cost was just over £500,000.

Gateshead TMD was a railway traction maintenance depot situated in Gateshead, England. The depot code was 52A during the steam era and GD later on. It was known, along with the adjacent locomotive works, as Greenesfield or Greensfield, after a Mr. Greene, from whom the North Eastern Railway (NER) bought the land . In 1958, all BR locomotive depots on Tyneside, Wearside and in Northumberland became sub-sheds of Gateshead. The depot closed in 1991. Housing now occupies the site, now known as Ochre Yards. The street names reflect the site's history, with Worsdell Drive and Fletcher Road named after former locomotive superintendents of the NER.

All Saints' Church is a late 18th-century church in Lower Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, which replaced a medieval church on the same site. All Saints' Church is the only elliptical church building in England, the third tallest religious building in Newcastle and the ninth-tallest structure in the city overall. It is a Grade I listed building.
