Tyne Bridge (UK Parliament constituency)

The Tyne Bridge is a through arch bridge over the River Tyne in North East England, linking Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead. The bridge was designed by the engineering firm Mott, Hay and Anderson, who later designed the Forth Road Bridge, and was built by Dorman Long and Co. of Middlesbrough. The bridge was officially opened on 10 October 1928 by King George V and has since become a defining symbol of Tyneside. It is ranked as the tenth tallest structure in the city.

The great fire of Gateshead and Newcastle was a tragic and spectacular series of events starting on Friday 6 October 1854, in which a substantial amount of property in two North East England towns was destroyed in a series of fires and an explosion which killed 53 and injured hundreds. There is only one building still extant on the Newcastle Quayside which predated the fire.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne Trinity House is a private corporation in Newcastle upon Tyne which emerged in the 16th century as a guild formed by the City's seafarers. For the past 500 years it has occupied premises in Broad Chare on the Newcastle's Quayside, from which it continues to provide a combination of professional and charitable maritime services. It remains one of only three bodies in England authorized for the examination and licensing of deep-sea pilots.

All Saints' Church is a late 18th-century church in Lower Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, which replaced a medieval church on the same site. All Saints' Church is the only elliptical church building in England, the third tallest religious building in Newcastle and the ninth-tallest structure in the city overall. It is a Grade I listed building.

Live Theatre, formerly Live Theatre Company is a new writing theatre and company based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. As well as producing and presenting new plays many of which go on to tour nationally and internationally, it seeks out and nurtures creative talent and runs a large education programme for young people.

Gateshead railway station served the town of Gateshead, England between 1844 and 1981. It was situated on the northern and western sides of the triangular junction to the south of the High Level Bridge which connects Gateshead with Newcastle upon Tyne. There were two portions to the station on different routes; at times they were known as Gateshead East and Gateshead West.

The Tyne Bridge Tower was a tower block that resided at the foot of the Tyne Bridge on the Gateshead side of the River Tyne, near the medieval St Mary's Church and The Sage. It was constructed in the 1960s. The 13 floor building was used by the Inland Revenue until June 2005, after which it stood empty until its demolition in March 2011. The demolition was funded by One North East, a regional development agency. Total cost was just over £500,000.

Amazing Radio is an international radio station first broadcast originally on digital radio in the United Kingdom. The station plays new music from a number of music genres including pop, rock, indie, hip hop, electronica and jazz. The station originally broadcast on the Digital One ensemble which replaced the temporary Birdsong test transmission which had been running for a year and a half beforehand. The station discontinued its DAB presence in 2012 to become an Internet-only radio station, but later returned to DAB in London and Dublin. The station subsequently decided it was not worth paying to be on DAB when so much radio listening is now online.The station takes its music from its sister website amazingtunes.com and encourages its listeners to have their say as to which songs should make the station's playlist.Artists to have been played extensively by the station since their earliest recordings include Bastille, Nine Lies, Tom Odell, Haim, The 1975, Chvrches and London Grammar. Since 2010, the station has broadcast a weekly chart on Sunday afternoons. The first chart-topper was 'Spider' by Tom And The Tides (an early recording by Tom Odell)
