The Colburn School–High Street Historic District is a linear historic district encompassing the village center of Westwood, Massachusetts. It extends along High Street (Massachusetts Route 109) roughly between Conant Street in the north and Gay Street in the south. It is largely residential in character, with 37 houses, most of which date from the 18th to the mid-19th centuries. The rural character of the area is captured by a number of preserved 19th-century barns. The district also includes Westwood Town Hall, a 1910 Classical Revival building, and the 1874 Second Empire Colburn School. The school was named for Warren and Dana P. Colburn who both attended the school. They authored a book on arithmetic. Prior to being named for them in March 1867, it was known as the Clapboardtrees School, the West Dedham School and District Number Eight.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Fisher School–High Street Historic District is a historic district at 748–850; 751-823 High Street in Westwood, Massachusetts. It includes a relatively short stretch of High Street (Massachusetts Route 109) south of Westwood's commercial heart, extending from just south of its junction with Hartford Street to the cemetery at High and Nahatan Streets. It is distinguished by its concentration of Federal and Greek Revival houses from the early 19th century. Prominent in the district is the First Baptist Church, which was built near its present location in 1809 using timbers from an earlier 1731 meeting house, and the 1845 Greek Revival Fisher School, which has been restored by the Westwood Historical Society. The school was named in honor of Daniel Fisher, the colonial Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Deputies, and Ebenezer Fisher, a 19th-century representative to the Great and General Court. The latter Fisher gave $1,000 to benefit the schools of West Dedham. It previously was known as the Clapboardtrees School and District Number Nine.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Dover Sun House was one of the world's first solar-heated houses. It was designed by architect Eleanor Raymond and had a heating system developed by physicist Mária Telkes. In 1948, Mária Telkes and architect Eleanor Raymond began working on the Dover Sun House. The project was funded by philanthropist and sculptor Amelia Peabody, and built on her property in Dover, Massachusetts. The house was heated by a system designed so that sodium sulfate was allowed to melt in a solar-heated space. During the day, fans brought air through the warm space and via ducts out to the rooms of the house, at night air was brought through the same space where the salt then cooled and released its stored heat.In its first two years, the house was successful, gaining huge publicity and attracting lots of visitors. Popular Science hailed it as perhaps more important, scientifically, than the atomic bomb. The owners had to remove the system when, by the third winter, there were problems with the sodium sulfate, which had built up in layers of liquid and solid material, and its containers were corroded and leaking, and the continuous melting and cooling of the sodium sulfate prevented the substance from mixing properly.In 1954, the solar heating system was replaced by a conventional system with heating oil. The Dover Sun House was demolished sometime after 2012 and replaced by a new house that includes a large solar array

Amy Davenport is the Principal and WHS has two Assistant Principals, Aishleen Flanagan and Tom Millett. The Superintendent of the district is Tim Piwowar and Assistant Superintendent is Allison Borchers. It is ranked #14 by Boston as one of the best public high schools in Boston.

Noanet Woodlands is a 595-acre (241 ha) open space preserve located in Dover, Massachusetts. It is managed by the land conservation non-profit organization The Trustees of Reservations. The property has 17 miles (27 km) of hiking trails, several of which lead to the 387-foot summit of Noanet Peak, which offers a view of downtown Boston skyscrapers. The property's trail system connects to trails on two adjacent open space parcels: Powisset Farm (which is also owned by the Trustees), and Hale Education. Parking areas are at 93 Powisset Street and in Caryl Park, which is owned by the Town of Dover. More than 120 species of birds have been identified at the property. The Noanet Peak Trail, the Peabody Loop, and the Caryl Loop Trail are described in the Appalachian Mountain Club's Massachusetts Trail Guide. Boston Magazine has included Noanet Woodlands on its list of "10 best fall hikes in New England."Noanet Woodlands welcomes equestrians to ride on its bridle paths and jumps. Bike riding is permitted. On-leash dogs are permitted on the property. From October through December, bow hunting for deer is allowed on Monday through Saturday by permit.

The Charles River Peninsula is a 30-acre (12 ha) nature preserve in Needham, Massachusetts owned and managed by the Trustees of Reservations. The Charles River turns nearly 180 degrees, creating the peninsula. A 20-acre (8 ha) field on the peninsula was farmed for roughly a century. The original acreage was given in 1960; additional land was given in 1994. The property includes a loop hiking trail and a boat launch.

Needham Junction station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Needham, Massachusetts. It serves the Needham Line. It is located on Junction Street near Chestnut Street in the southwestern part of Needham. It opened in 1906 when the New Haven Railroad built the Needham Cutoff to connect the Charles River Railroad to its main line. The station has a single side platform with an accessible mini-high platform serving the line's single track.

Benjamin Caryl House is a historic house museum located in Caryl Park at 107 Dedham Street in Dover, Massachusetts. The Reverend Benjamin Caryl was the first minister of Springfield Parish, then in a part of Dedham which is now Dover. He built the house around the year 1777. Benjamin's son George, who was the town's first doctor, and their descendants occupied the house until 1897. Since 1920 the building has been owned and operated by the Dover Historical Society. The house retains its architectural integrity and has been carefully restored with period furnishings to reflect life in the 1790s when the first two Caryl families lived and worked there together. It is currently operated as a historic house museum by the Historical Society.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Norfolk County Correctional Center is a house of correction located on the median of Route 128 in Dedham, Massachusetts. The facility has 502 beds and opened in 1992. On average, there are 140 inmates who are serving sentences and 260 inmates waiting for trial. As of May 2019, the superintendent is Michael Harris. Harris replaced James O’Mara, who had served since October 2018.The Correctional Center replaced the Norfolk County Jail.
