Moreton Pinkney

Morton Pinkney (also known as Morton Pinkney for Sulgrave) was a railway station on the Stratford-upon-Avon and Midland Junction Railway (SMJ) which served the Northamptonshire village of Moreton Pinkney between 1873 and 1952. It was situated not far from Sulgrave Manor, the ancestral home of George Washington's family.

Canons Ashby is a small village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England. The population of the village is included in the civil parish of Preston Capes. Its most notable building is Canons Ashby House, a National Trust property. The parish church is a surviving fragment of Canons Ashby Priory. It is situated 0.9 miles (1,400 m) from Moreton Pinkney. A railway station was located between the two villages, on the Stratford-upon-Avon and Midland Junction Railway (later part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway), but the station closed in April 1952. The village is part of the Daventry constituency.

Canons Ashby Priory was an Augustinian priory at Canons Ashby, Northamptonshire, England.

Canons Ashby House (previously known as Canons Ashby Hall) is a Grade I listed Elizabethan manor house located in the village of Canons Ashby, about 11 miles (17.7 km) south of the town of Daventry in the county of Northamptonshire, England. It has been owned by the National Trust since 1981 when the house was close to collapse and the gardens had turned into a meadow. "The Tower" of the building is in the care of the Landmark Trust and available for holiday lets.

The lost village of Canons Ashby is located in ground to the north of Canons Ashby House in the English county of Northamptonshire. Today there is still a small village around the house but this is located away from the original settlement, since the original settlement is now just field occupied by a herd of cows. Ascebi is the name of the medieval village that is the lost settlement, Canons Ashby itself is currently not lost at all and people can easily find it on any map.

The Manor House is grade II* listed; some of its associated gates and walls are separately grade II listed.

Plumpton Pasture is a 3.6-hectare (8.9-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Towcester in Northamptonshire.There are medieval ridge and furrows on this unimproved meadow on clay. The drier ridge tops have many herbs, while the damp furrows are dominated by creeping bent and Yorkshire fog grasses. There are also mature hedges and a small pond.The site is private land with no public access.

Weston is a village in West Northamptonshire, England. Together with neighbouring Weedon Lois (also known as Lois Weedon) it forms the civil parish of Weston and Weedon, which had a population of 960 at the 2011 Census.Weston gives its name to Weston Hall, the home of writer Sir Sacheverell Sitwell from 1927 until his death in 1988.

Sulgrave Manor, Sulgrave, Northamptonshire, England is a mid-16th century Tudor hall house built by Lawrence Washington, the 3rd great-grandfather of George Washington, first President of the United States. The manor passed out of the hands of the Washington family in the 17th century and by the 19th had descended to the status of a farmhouse. In 1911, Theodore Roosevelt, a former US president, suggested a memorial to commemorate 100 years of peace between the United Kingdom and the United States, and the manor was bought for this purpose in 1914. Between 1920 and 1930 the manor was restored, and a garden was created by Reginald Blomfield. Sulgrave Manor is now administered by a trust and is a Grade I listed building.
