Pinkerton Park is a 34-acre municipal park located in Franklin, Tennessee, United States at 405 Murfreesboro Road, east of the Harpeth River, near downtown Franklin. The park includes a mile-long paved pedestrian track, with exercise equipment located at various points on the trail. A total of fourteen picnic tables are available, as well as grills, located in various parts of the park. Pinkerton Park has restrooms, as well as a pedestrian bridge across the Harpeth River. Two playgrounds are available for children; one of them, Tinkerbell playground, is self-contained. Pinkerton Park is the most used park in the Franklin Park system. Fort Granger is located to the north of the park, and may be reached by a trail.In 2018, the Park debuted "Storybook Trail," a series of 20 panels along the park's walking trail, an open-air book about forest animals for parents to read aloud to children. The story will be changed annually.

The Rainey House is a one-and-a-half-story brick home in Franklin, Tennessee that dates from 1839. It was built in the original 15 blocks of the city of Franklin and was standing during the American Civil War Battle of Franklin. Like many structures standing at the time, it was used as a field hospital during and after the battle. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. The house is listed as being one of the least-altered historic properties in Franklin. It was originally built by Robert Rainey who operated a store across the street from the City of Franklin Railroad Depot. While the depot is no longer in service, the train line across the street from the house is still active. It has also been known as The Bob Rainey House.A bridge across the Harpeth River located on the other side of the railroad tracks from the house leads to Pinkerton Park where there is a short hike up to Fort Granger, a Union Fort used during the Civil War. When listed the property included two contributing buildings on an area of 9.9 acres (4.0 ha).The house has Greek Revival details.

The First Battle of Franklin was fought April 10, 1863, in Williamson County, Tennessee, during the American Civil War. It was a minor engagement in about the same location as that of the more famous Battle of Franklin (November 30, 1864), which was part of the Franklin-Nashville Campaign.

Fort Granger was a Union fort built in 1862 in Franklin, Tennessee, south of Nashville, after their forces occupied the state during the American Civil War. One of several fortifications constructed in the Franklin Battlefield, the fort was used by Union troops to defend their positions in Middle Tennessee against Confederate attackers. The Second Battle of Franklin in 1864, part of the Franklin-Nashville Campaign in the Western Theater, was the most notable engagement of this area during the Civil War. Today, Fort Granger's remaining earthworks are preserved within a city park that is located near the center of Franklin. Fort Granger is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The site is accessible to the public via a trail from Pinkerton Park. Its grounds include a boardwalk offering a view of the Harpeth River and extending through part of the fort's site.

Willow Plunge was a privately-owned American swimming pool and recreational area in the middle Tennessee town of Franklin, near Nashville. The pool was in operation for over four decades during the mid 20th century. When it opened in 1924 it was the largest concrete swimming pool in the South and remained in operation until 1967. It featured two adjoining pools that were fed by a local spring. Sanitation was accomplished by replacing the pool water with fresh spring water on a regular schedule. The business was profitable, even during the Great Depression (1929–1939). In the 1930s it became one of the most popular and best equipped swimming pools in the United States according to the Tennessean. After 43 years in existence, the pool was closed in 1967 and a historical marker is all that remains.

O’More College of Design was a private college in Franklin, Tennessee. In February 2018, it merged with Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee to become the O'More School of Design at Belmont University. Information regarding the programs that were a part of the O'More College of Design can be found here: www.belmont.edu/design It was founded as O'More School of Interior Architecture and Design in 1970 in the historic district of Franklin. It awarded the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design, and Interior Design. It had an enrollment of about 200 students and was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.

The Bennett House is a recording studio located on 4th Avenue North in Franklin, Tennessee. Built in 1875, the two-story building has served as a residence, a clothing store and, starting in 1980, a recording studio used by many popular music artists when recording in Tennessee. Artists that have frequently recorded at the studio include 1970's rock and roll producer Norbert Putnam (Kris Kristofferson, Dan Fogelberg, Jimmy Buffett, Dusty Springfield), country music producer Bob Montgomery (Joe Diffie, Waylon Jennings), producer Keith Thomas (Amy Grant, Vanessa Williams, Selena, 98 Degrees). Thomas would even have one of the two studios in the building named after him when "Studio A" became known as "The Thomas Room." Other artists to use the studio include Phil Keaggy, Randy Stonehill and Chagall Guevara. In the early 1990s, Montgomery produced acts such as Joe Diffie, Doug Stone, Jo-El Sonnier, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, Vince Gill and many, many others. Gene Eichelberger, Audio Engineer probably most known for recording Dobie Gray's "Drift Away", engineered many of these sessions on a Studer A800 24 track analog machine with Bob Montgomery. The Bennett House Recording Studios ceased all tracking and mixing operations on July 1, 2008.

Winstead House is a historic Italianate house in Franklin, Tennessee built c.1870 that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 together with 3.7 acres (1.5 ha) of land. It is also a contributing property in the Franklin Historic District. It was built by William O'Neal Perkins on the foundation of a former house, the McNutt House, which burned c.1865. Perkins used brick and stone materials from a building on the court square, Public Office, which he had bought and demolished. It is a two-story, five bay house. Its foundation, water table, and quoins are stone; the brick walls are laid in American common bond. It has a massive ornate cornice supported by heavy paired brackets.It was owned by Asa Hickman Jewell, II and his wife, Margaret Loring Jewell. It is now the administration building for the O'More College of Design.

The Masonic Hall of Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 7 is a historic Gothic revival building on South 2nd Avenue in Franklin, Tennessee. Constructed in 1823, it is the oldest public building in Franklin. It is nationally significant as the site of negotiations leading to the Treaty of Franklin, the first Indian removal treaty agreed after passage of the 1830 Indian Removal Act. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973. It continues to serve the local Masonic lodge.

Lewisburg Avenue Historic District is a 28-acre (11 ha) historic district in Franklin, Tennessee that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 . It includes Late 19th and 20th Century Revivals, Bungalow/Craftsman, and Late Victorian architecture.When listed, the district included 34 contributing buildings and three contributing structures. Also included were six non-contributing buildings, one non-contributing structure,.The property was covered in a 1988 study of Williamson County historical resources.

Franklin is a city and county seat of Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. About 21 miles (34 km) south of Nashville, it is one of the principal cities of the Nashville metropolitan area and Middle Tennessee. As of 2020, its population was 83,454. It is the seventh-largest city in Tennessee.The city developed on both sides of the Harpeth River, a tributary of the Cumberland River. In the 19th century, Franklin (as the county seat) was the trading and judicial center for primarily rural Williamson County and remained so well into the 20th century as the county remained rural and agricultural in nature. Since 1980, areas of northern Franklin have been developed for residential and related businesses, in addition to modern service industries. The population has increased rapidly as growth moved in all directions from the core. Despite recent growth and development, Franklin is noted for its many older buildings and neighborhoods, which are protected by city ordinances.

The Williamson County Courthouse in Franklin, Tennessee is a historic courthouse. It is a contributing building in the Franklin Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The courthouse was built in 1858 and is the third one to serve the county. It is Greek Revival in style and 65 by 90 feet (20 m × 27 m) in plan. Its portico has four Doric columns which were cast at a nearby foundry.It was damaged in an 1871 tornado but was restored.In 1888, a 23-year-old African-American suspect, Amos Miller, was lynched: hanged from the balcony of the courthouse after being taken by a mob from the courtroom before his trial was completed. On the grounds of the courthouse is a Confederate Monument, which is separately listed on the National Register. A statue, March to Freedom was also installed outside.
