Hessle railway station

Hessle Town Hall is a municipal building in South Lane, Hessle, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is the meeting place of Hessle Town Council.

Hessle () is a town, civil parish and electoral ward in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, five miles (eight kilometres) west of Kingston upon Hull city centre. Geographically it is part of a larger urban area consisting of the city of Kingston upon Hull, the town of Hessle and a number of other villages but is not part of the city. It is on the north bank of the Humber Estuary where the Humber Bridge crosses. According to the 2011 UK census, Hessle parish had a population of 15,000, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 14,767.

The Humber Bridge, near Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, is a 2.22 km (2,430 yd; 7,300 ft; 1.38 mi) single-span road suspension bridge, which opened to traffic on 24 June 1981. When it opened, the bridge was the longest of its type in the world; it was not surpassed until 1998, with the completion of the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge, and is now the twelfth-longest. The bridge spans the Humber (an estuary formed by the rivers Trent and Ouse), between Barton-upon-Humber on the south bank and Hessle on the north bank, connecting the East Riding of Yorkshire with North Lincolnshire. Both sides of the bridge were in the non-metropolitan county of Humberside until its dissolution in 1996. The bridge can be seen for miles around, from as far as Patrington in the East Riding of Yorkshire, and from out to sea miles off the coast. It is a Grade I listed building. By 2006, the bridge carried an average of 120,000 vehicles per week. The toll was £3.00 each way for cars (higher for commercial vehicles), which made it the most expensive toll crossing in the United Kingdom. In April 2012, the toll was halved to £1.50 each way after the UK government deferred £150 million from the bridge's outstanding debt.

The house is now the co-educational, independent day school, Tranby School. The house is built in white brick with ashlar dressing in three storeys with a nine bay frontage.

Anlaby House is a former Georgian country house at Anlaby, near Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, which has since been converted to luxury apartments. It is a grade II listed building.Constructed of yellow brick with stone dressing and a slate roof, the main range is built in three storeys with a 5-bay frontage.

Barton-on-Humber railway station serves the town of Barton-upon-Humber in North Lincolnshire, England. The station, which was once the terminus of a 3+1⁄4-mile (5 km) branch line from New Holland, is these days the terminus of the Barton line services operating from Cleethorpes. It is situated 22+3⁄4 miles (37 km) west of the resort. There is a connecting Stagecoach in Hull bus service from the town to Hull across the Humber Bridge which was introduced on the opening of the bridge to replace the New Holland Ferry. Approach to the branch was by a triangular junction at New Holland which enabled passenger trains to operate a New Holland Pier to Barton service in connection with the ferries and rail services from Cleethorpes and for freight to have direct access from the main line via Ulceby Junction. When the Humber Bridge opened the junction was removed and passenger services operated directly from Cleethorpes via the new platform at New Holland.

Far Ings national nature reserve is an area of over 90 ha (220 acres) on the southern shore of the Humber Estuary in North Lincolnshire, England. It is immediately west of the town of Barton-upon-Humber and the village of Barton Waterside. In addition to being designated as a national nature reserve, it is within the Humber Estuary Ramsar site, Site of Special Scientific Interest, Special Area of Conservation, and Special Protection Area.
