Hell's Glen

Cruach nam Mult is a mountain in the Arrochar Alps, Argyll, Scotland which lies to the southern side of Hell's Glen. The mountain is near Loch Fyne and GlenGoil and is part of the northern side of the area of the Arrochar Alps that follow south to Loch Goil.

Mullach Coire a' Chuir is a rugged mountain near Lochgoilhead in Argyll, Scotland and forms part of the well known Arrochar Alps range. It lies to the west of Glen Goil and is visible from Lochgoilhead.

The Tinkers' Heart is a Scottish Travellers' commemorative monument near Loch Fyne in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is also known as the Gypsy's Heart, Gypsies' Heart or Gypsy's Wedding Heart. A field visit in 2012 shows the Heart as being made up of a heart-shape of 25 visible quartz pebbles, with a 26th pebble in the centre, and measuring 1.75 metres (5.7 ft) by 1.4 metres (4.6 ft). Research done by Historic Scotland in 2015 concluded that from the evidence available, it was the only example in Scotland of a permanent physical Scottish Travellers' memorial.

Ardkinglas House is a Category A listed country house on the Ardkinglas Estate in Argyll, Scotland. The estate lies on the eastern shore of Loch Fyne, and the house is located close to the village of Cairndow. Dating back to the 14th century and originally a Campbell property, the estate now covers more than 12,000 acres (4,900 ha) of rolling hills and landscaped parkland. The centre of the estate was Ardkinglas Castle until this was replaced by a new house in the 18th century. This house was itself replaced by the present Ardkinglas House in the early 20th century, designed by Sir Robert Lorimer for Sir Andrew Noble. It remains the property of the Noble family, and is open to the public on a limited basis. The woodland gardens are open all year round.

Stob na Boine Druim-fhinn is a mountain on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll, Scotland, northwest of Lochgoilhead. On 17 January, 1949, a United States Army Air Forces Boeing B-29 Superfortress (44-62279) of the 31st Test and Evaluation Squadron was on a flight from RAF Scampton, England, to Reykjavík, Iceland. At 9:50am, the B-29 crashed into the side of Stob na Boine Druim-fhinn, killing all twenty passengers and crew. The cause of the crash was not determined, but the adverse weather and heavy icing were deemed to be contributory factors.

Beinn Lochain is one of the Arrochar Alps at 703 metres (2,306 ft), in the Argyll Highlands. The mountain is situated to the west of Lochgoilhead. It continues the rugged and wild feel of the local area as it sits next to its higher neighbour Beinn Bheula which reaches a height of over 2,500 feet.

Loch Fyne Oysters is a seafood and meat company that operates on the banks of Loch Fyne, Scotland. The company created the Loch Fyne Restaurants chain, which was later sold to Greene King. Loch Fyne Oysters still owns the Loch Fyne brand and supplies its products to the restaurant chain.

The Shira Hydro-Electric Scheme is a project initiated by the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board to use the waters of the River Shira, the River Fyne and other small streams to generate hydroelectricity. It is located between Loch Fyne and Loch Awe in Argyll and Bute, western Scotland. It consists of three power stations and three impounding dams. The remoteness of the area in which the scheme was built required 15 miles (24 km) of access roads to be built before the main works could begin. The three dams were all of different types; a round headed buttress dam; a concrete gravity and earth fill dam; and the first ever use of a prestressed gravity dam. The construction of the earth fill dam was hindered by four months of extremely wet weather. Clachan was the first large underground power station that the Board built, while Sron Mor was the first implementation of a pumped storage scheme, built in anticipation of the arrival of nuclear power generation. The power stations were commissioned in 1953, 1955 and 1957, in advance of the completion of work on the dams.

Cruach nam Miseag is a mountain near Lochgoilhead within the Arrochar Alps, Scotland. It reaches a height of 606 m (1989 ft). It is located at NS182981.

Beinn Bheula is a mountain located between Loch Goil and Loch Eck. It is part of the Arrochar Alps range. Beinn Bheula appears rugged from Lochgoilhead, with several summits, the highest of which is Caisteal Dubh (Gaelic for black castle). It is commonly climbed from Loch Goil

St Catherines; (Scottish Gaelic: Cill Chaitrìona) is a village, on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scottish Highlands. It is located on the banks of Loch Fyne opposite Inveraray and is served by the A815 road. The old Ferry Inn, in St. Catherines is on the buildings at risk register of Scotland.The remains of St Catherine's Chapel and Burial Ground. Now only foundations remain of the chapel.

Glen Shira (Gaelic: Gleann Siara, "Glen of the eternal river") is a glen in Argyll, Scotland at the northern end of Loch Fyne, just to the north of Inveraray. It is a Special Area of Conservation within the UK, bordered by Beinn Bhuidhe on the Glen Fyne side. Glen Shira is named after the River Shira, which runs through the centre of the glen. The river starts in north-east at 350 meter altitude, near the start of the River Fyne. Shira runs into the 5 MW Sron Mor (Big Nose) power station dam, and then for about 7 miles down to and through Loch Dubh (Black Lake) at the base. From there, the waters flow into Loch Shira, a small inlet on Loch Fyne that, in turn, lends its name to the MV Loch Shira ferry. The glen is mostly taken up by a resident's sheep farm, but there are numerous houses within the glen, including Elrigbeg (Eileirig Beag), Elrig More (Eileirig Mór), Kilblaan and Drimlee (at the northern end). There is one single-track road which leads up the glen to the dam. This road splits into an access road (connected across the River Shira by a bridge) which leads to Drimlee.Rob Roy MacGregor lived in Glen Shira for a short time under the protection of John Campbell, 2nd Duke of Argyll, also known as Red John of the Battles (Iain Ruaidh nan Cath). Argyll negotiated an amnesty and protection for Rob in 1716, and granted him permission to build a house in upper Glen Shira after disarmament. Records suggest that Rob Roy also constructed a fank for sheep or cattle in the Glen. However, some time after the 1719 Jacobite Rebellion — likely around 1720 — Rob moved to Monachyle Tuarach by Loch Doine, abandoning the structures. Nevertheless, ruins remain extant. Asda also once produced a whisky called Glen Shira, although this had no connection to the actual glen.
