Allen Township is a township in Polk County, Iowa, United States.

Carlisle is a city in Warren and Polk counties in the U.S. state of Iowa. The population was 4,160 at the 2020 census. The city is part of the Des Moines–West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city received considerable media attention in 1997 when Carlisle residents Kenny and Bobbi McCaughey (pronounced "McCoy") became the parents of the world's first surviving set of septuplets.

Fourmile Creek is a tributary stream of the Des Moines River that flows through Polk, Story and Boone counties, in the U.S. state of Iowa. Its watershed is the largest in Polk County and covers 76,600 acres (310 km2) of which includes the cities and towns of Alleman, Altoona, Ankeny, Bondurant, Des Moines, Elkhart, Sheldahl, and Pleasant Hill. Fourmile Creek was so named from the fact a road crossing over it was 4 miles (6.4 km) from Des Moines.

KBGG (1700 AM) is a commercial radio station in Des Moines, Iowa . The station is owned by Cumulus Media and it airs a sports radio format, known as "101.3 & 1700 The Champ". KBGG's studios and offices are located in Urbandale. The main AM transmitter is located off Fairview Lane in Pleasant Hill. KBGG is in the "Expanded Band," one of only a handful of stations at AM 1700. It is powered at 10,000 watts by day and 1,000 watts at night, using a non-directional antenna.

Scotch Ridge United Presbyterian Church is a historic structure located in rural Warren County, Iowa, United States. It was built in 1883 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The founders of the church were Scotch-Irish immigrants who could trace their ancestry to Scotland and were proud of their Scottish heritage. Scotch Ridge United Presbyterian Church was established on August 13, 1853. On that day Robert McElroy went to Chariton, Iowa to get the charter. The first church building was built in 1857 for $1,000. Pete Schooler and his wife sold two acres of the land for $30 on January 3, 1865, for a new Presbyterian Churchyard. On April 28 of the same year William Hastie and his wife sold one acre of adjacent land for $25 for a cemetery. The present frame church building was built in 1883 for $4,000 in the Gothic Revival style. Additional land for the cemetery was added in 1898 and 1971. An additional fellowship hall wing was added in 2010.

The Iowa State Fair is an annual state fair held in Des Moines, Iowa in August. It began in 1854 and has been held on the Iowa State Fairgrounds since 1886. It is based in the state capital Des Moines, Iowa over an 11 day period in August. With over a million visitors, it is one of the largest and best known state fairs in the United States.

The Iowa State Fairgrounds is located on the east side of Des Moines, Iowa. It annually hosts the Iowa State Fair in late summer. The state fair was begun in Iowa in 1854 and the current fairgrounds were established in 1886. The fairgrounds were listed as an historic district on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 as the Iowa State Fair and Exposition Grounds.

The Fish and Game Pavilion and Aquarium is located in the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The structure was erected with financial support from the State of Iowa. It was designed by the Des Moines architectural firm of Proudfoot, Rawson & Souers. It is a masonry building with a steel frame structural system and exhibits eclectic, Italian Renaissance detail. It was originally built from 1926 to 1927 and was expanded in 1929. The building was listed as a contributing property on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 as a part of the Iowa State Fair and Exposition Grounds and it was individually listed in 1991 as a part of the Conservation Movement in Iowa MPS.
