Northeast College Preparatory School is a public high school located in Rochester, Monroe County, New York, U.S.A., and is one of eighteen high schools operated by the Rochester City School District. It shares the Douglass Campus with the Northwest College Preparatory School. The Douglass Campus was formerly the Frederick Douglass Preparatory School before it was forced to be closed by the state due to poor performance. In September 2007, the Northeast and Northwest schools opened at the campus.

Northwest College Preparatory High School, sometimes referred to as Northwest or just NWCP, is a public high school in Rochester, New York. It is in the Rochester City School District.

Fernwood Park Historic District is a national historic district located in the northeast quadrant of Rochester in Monroe County, New York. The district consists of 40 contributing buildings and one contributing site. The garden apartment complex was originally built in 1947 as part of the Rochester Plan to provide quality, low rent housing for veterans returning from World War II and their families. There are 38 two story garden style apartment buildings and one pair of garage units with 36 garages. There are a total of 152 apartments, or four per building, with the buildings grouped in three clusters. The buildings are in a vernacular Colonial Revival style. It is one of three complexes built as part of the Rochester Plan; the others are Norton Village and Ramona Park.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Skyview on the Ridge is a future redevelopment of a shopping mall located in Irondequoit, New York, a suburb of Rochester. The mall opened in 1990 as Irondequoit Mall, featuring anchors McCurdy's, Sibley's, J. C. Penney, and Sears. On January 22, 2016, Angelo Ingrassia, a local real estate developer who specializes in developing premier properties, purchased the center. On August 29, 2017, current owner Angelo Ingrassia announced a plan to construct an office park along with retail, a community center, as well as a large residential component. The development is named Skyview on the Ridge.On July 30, 2019, the Town of Irondequoit approved a referendum that would allow the town to move forward by borrowing $7.25 million to build a community center.

Bishop Kearney High School is a Roman Catholic educational institution in Irondequoit, New York, USA, a suburb of Rochester. It is a private high school with a middle school subdivision, serving students in grades 6 through 12. The school occupies a 42-acre (170,000 m2) campus near the geographic center of Irondequoit, just 1 mile from Lake Ontario, and 10 minutes away from downtown Rochester.

Saint Mark's and Saint John's Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at Rochester in Monroe County, New York. Completed in 1928, it is architecturally significant as an intact representative example of simple Gothic inspired Arts and Crafts design applied to a neighborhood church edifice.It was designed by architects Gordon and Kaelber.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Rochester General Hospital has been serving the residents of the Rochester Region and beyond since 1847. Rochester General Hospital offers primary medical care and a broad range of specialties. Rochester General Hospital's medical staff includes over 1,000 primary care physicians and specialists, many of whom have offices at the hospital and throughout the community.

Eastridge High School is an American public high school located in Irondequoit, New York. The School is an IB (International Baccalaureate) world school. It also offers Honors and AP classes. Its current principal is Timothy Heaphy. This is the main high school in the East Irondequoit Central School District. The school also features a marching band, indoor percussion ensemble and drama club for yearly shows. On May 7, 2015, Eastridge High School was named one of ten schools chosen as a School of Opportunity by the National Education Policy Center (NEPC). More than 80 schools applied and four were awarded “Gold Recognition” and six earned “Silver Recognition”. Eastridge is one of the schools awarded Silver Recognition.

East Side Presbyterian Church, now known as Parsells Avenue Community Church, is a historic Presbyterian church located in the Beechwood neighborhood of Rochester, Monroe County, New York. The church was built in 1925-1925 and is a large rectangular brick building with cast stone trim in the Romanesque Revival style. The church features a tall engaged square tower with an octagonal cupola at its northwest corner. Attached to the church is a two-story education wing constructed between 1909 and 1911. It housed the original church and is also in the Romanesque Revival style.The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

The Sibley fire was a 1904 fire in Rochester, New York. The worst conflagration in the city's history at the time, the fire broke out shortly before 5 o'clock on February 26, 1904, in the basement of the Rochester Dry Goods company's store at 156 Main street. Hampered by bitter cold, the fire burned for 40 hours, engulfing the north side of East Main Street, spanning from St. Paul Street to just short of Clinton Avenue. When finally put out, the fire had leveled between 1.5 and 1.75 acres (0.61 and 0.71 ha) and caused significant damage to the Sibley's department store (hence becoming popularly known as the "Sibley fire"). The estimated loss was about $3,000,000 (equivalent to $98,000,000 in 2022 when adjusted for inflation). The fire was reported to have been started by an uninsulated overloaded electrical fuse at the Rochester Dry Goods Company.
