Parkchester, Bronx

Parkchester/Van Nest station is a planned passenger rail station on the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line, to be located within Bronx Community Board 11 in Van Nest and just north of Parkchester. The station is planned to open in 2027 as part of the Penn Station Access project, which will add four stations in The Bronx. It will be located east of Unionport Road, with entrance from East Tremont Avenue.

The Parkchester station is an express station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway. It is located above Hugh J. Grant Circle in the Parkchester neighborhood of the Bronx, where East 177th Street (the Cross Bronx Expressway service road), Metropolitan Avenue, and Westchester Avenue intersect. The station is served by the 6 train at all times and the <6> train during weekdays in the peak direction. By passenger count, Parkchester was the third-busiest station in the Bronx in 2017, behind 161st Street–Yankee Stadium and Third Avenue–149th Street, and the busiest station on the Pelham Line.

St. Raymond High School for Boys is a parochial high school affiliated with the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of New York. It is accredited by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York, the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Brothers of the Christian Schools. The school is a recipient of a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award (1994–1996), and holds memberships with the National Catholic Educational Association and the Catholic Administrators Association of New York State. St. Raymond Academy for Girls is a private, Roman Catholic high school for girls in Parkchester, Bronx, New York, United States. It was established in 1960 by the Sisters of Charity and located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. The school has been accredited by the NYS Board of Regents since 1965. The Commission on Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association first granted the academy accreditation effective 2003–2010. In 2009–2010, the academy completed the review for re-accreditation and received the renewal of certification. Accreditation has been renewed until December 2017.

The Church of St. Helena is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of New York. Its parish church is located at the intersection of Olmstead Avenue and Benedict Avenue, Bronx, New York City, in the Unionport neighborhood. It was established in 1940, and the church building was built in the same year and was designed by the prominent architectural firm of Eggers & Higgins.

St. Raymond's Church is a parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at Castle Hill Avenue at Tremont Avenue, The Bronx, New York City. The parish was established in 1842. It was dedicated on the feast of St. Raymond Nonnatus, on August 31, 1845, thus getting its name. There is a stained glass window, on the right side if you are looking at the sanctuary, of St. Raymond Nonnatus and the men who took him hostage.

The Church of St. Dominic is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 1739 Unionport Road, Van Nest, Bronx, New York City. The parish was established in 1927. The Romanesque Revival was built 1925 to the designs of Bronx-native architect Anthony J. DePace of the firm DePace & Juster. In May 2011, two of the three bells were removed in order to service the wooden supports which were waterlogged and had seepage problems. The goal is to replace the wooden supports and return the bells to their original location. The expected restoration cost of the bells is estimated at $30,000.
