St. Dominic's Church (Bronx)

Little Yemen is an ethnic enclave located in the eastern half of Bronx, New York in Morris Park. It is wedged in-between Van Nest and Pelham Parkway. The heart of the neighborhood is located on White Plains Road at Rhinelander Avenue. The Yemeni American Community started growing in large numbers after the war started in Yemen in 2014. Yahay Obeid, Outreach Liaison for the Bronx Muslim Center worked with Google and a journalist to change the name of the area to Little Yemen. There are over 500 Yemeni owned businesses within a one mile radius of Little Yemen, most are Deli and Groceries. Previously, the area was mostly Italian and Latino. The Yemeni American Day Parade has been held annually in Little Yemen since 2019. The first Yemeni American Day Parade drew over 3,000 people, including visitors from numerous states. The area contains several hookah cafes, Yemeni supermarkets and Yemeni restaurants and pharmacies that surround the intersection. It is however not listed in any records as an independent neighborhood and is more of a vernacular name.

The Church of Our Lady of Solace is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 731 Morris Park Avenue at the intersection with Holland Avenue, the Bronx, New York City in the Van Nest neighborhood.

The Bronx Park East station is a local station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. Located in the Bronx on Birchall Avenue at Sagamore Street, it is served by the 2 train at all times and by the 5 train during rush hours in the peak direction.

Van Nest is a working-class neighborhood geographically located in the East Bronx section of the Bronx, New York City. Going clockwise, its boundaries are Bronxdale Avenue to the northeast, the Amtrak tracks to the southeast, and Bronx Park to the west. Van Nest predated Morris Park by 20 years and is considered the older of the two communities. Morris Park Avenue and White Plains Road are the primary commercial thoroughfares through Van Nest. Parkchester/Van Nest station is a planned passenger rail station on the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line, to be located within Bronx Community Board 11 in Van Nest and just north of Parkchester. The station is planned to open in 2027 as part of the Penn Station Access project, which will add four stations in The Bronx. It will be located east of Unionport Road, with entrance from East Tremont Avenue.

The Church of St. Anthony is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 1496 Commonwealth Avenue, Van Nest, Bronx, New York City, near the corner of Mansion Street and Commonwealth Avenue. Founded in 1908 as an Italian Personal Parish.

The East 180th Street station (originally East 180th Street–Morris Park Avenue station) is an elevated express station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of East 180th Street and Morris Park Avenue in the Bronx, it is served by the 2 and 5 trains at all times. The East 180th Street station was built by the Interborough Rapid Transit Company (IRT) under the Dual Contracts and opened in 1917 as part of an extension of the White Plains Road Line to East 219th Street–White Plains Road. The 180th Street station of the New York, Westchester and Boston Railway (NYW&B) is immediately adjacent to the IRT station. When the NYW&B went bankrupt in 1937, a portion of the main line was converted into the IRT Dyre Avenue Line, and the NYW&B platforms were abandoned after the Dyre Avenue Line was connected to the White Plains Road Line in 1957. The original NYW&B station house remains extant and is the station's main exit and entrance.

The Bronx High School for the Visual Arts (BHSVA), familiarly known as Visual Arts, is a New York City public high school established as an art school in 2002 under Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Small Schools Initiative program (officially, the New Century High Schools Initiative). It is a New Visions for Public Schools institution which oversees funding for the various small schools created by the program but is served by the New York City Department of Education. The school once was housed in the Christopher Columbus Educational Campus before moving to the old Mercy College Bronx campus building in late 2004. The school is within walking distance of the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden. Since its inception in 2002, Visual Arts has hosted consecutive End of the Year art exhibitions at the Lehman College Art Gallery, highlighting the years best art by students.As of 2005, it also holds a second art exhibition at the Bronx Museum of the Arts.

Parkchester is a planned community and neighborhood originally developed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and located in the central Bronx, New York City. The immediate surrounding area also takes its name from the complex. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise, are East Tremont Avenue to the north, Castle Hill Avenue to the east, Westchester Avenue to the south, East 177th Street/Cross Bronx Expressway to the southwest, and the Bronx River Parkway to the west. Metropolitan Avenue, Unionport Road, and White Plains Road are the primary thoroughfares through Parkchester. The neighborhood is part of Bronx Community District 9 and is mostly located within ZIP Code 10462, with small sections in 10460 and 10461. The 6 and <6>​ trains of the New York City Subway operate along Westchester Avenue. The neighborhood is patrolled by the New York City Police Department's 43rd Precinct. The Bronx Zoo (also historically the Bronx Zoological Park and the Bronx Zoological Gardens) is a zoo within Bronx Park in the Bronx, New York. It is one of the largest zoos in the United States by area and is the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States by area, comprising 265 acres (107 ha) of park lands and naturalistic habitats separated by the Bronx River. On average, the zoo has 2.15 million visitors each year as of 2009. The zoo's original permanent buildings, known as Astor Court, were designed as a series of Beaux-Arts pavilions grouped around the large circular sea lion pool. The Rainey Memorial Gates were designed by sculptor Paul Manship in 1934 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.The zoo opened on November 8, 1899, featuring 843 animals in 22 exhibits. Its first director was William Temple Hornaday, who served as director for 30 years. From its inception the zoo has played a vital role in animal conservation. In 1905, the American Bison Society was created in an attempt to save the American bison from extinction, which had been depleted from tens-of-millions of animals to only a few hundred. Two years later they were successfully reintroduced into the wild. In 2007, the zoo successfully reintroduced three Chinese alligators into the wild. The breeding was a milestone in the zoo's 10-year effort to reintroduce the species to the Yangtze River in China. Today, the Bronx Zoo is world-renowned for its large and diverse animal collection, and its award-winning exhibitions. The zoo is part of an integrated system of four zoos and one aquarium managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and it is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

The 180th Street–Bronx Park station was the former terminal station for the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway, in the West Farms neighborhood of the Bronx.

West Farms is a residential neighborhood in The Bronx, New York City.
