MacArthur Park Raceway was a nationally recognized ½-mile paved asphalt two and four-cycle kart racing sprint track with nine turns in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It was built in the 1970s as an amusement park and kart racing facility. Since the 1970s, kart racing and superbike racers have used the track for practice and sanctioned national, regional and state-level racing events; the amusement park facility has since closed. The track contains three 'mini-track' configurations that allow flexibility for numerous types of kart racing, including oval track and sprint racing. The MacArthur Park Raceway was the official venue of the 2005 Karting Regionals. In 2006 and 2007, the MacArthur Park Raceway was host to the Oklahoma SuperBikers races. Although the track is known for having a rough surface, it is appreciated for its ability to let most any rubber compound grip its asphalt surface. The track operates by announcement and practice is generally conducted 'rain or shine'. In 2007, the Oklahoma ice storms in December forced a 'no-takers' day when not one person ran a kart or cycle on the track as a result of freezing rain, which actually sealed vehicle doors shut with thick clear ice. Weather is almost never a nixer at MacArthur Park Raceway. As of December 2012 the raceway is closed; no current information is available on the web.

Putnam City West High School is a public 9–12 grade school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is part of the Putnam City Public Schools District. The school serves portions of suburban Oklahoma City as well as Bethany and Warr Acres. The school's sports teams are known as the Patriots and they are notable for having been state champions in football in 1981 and runners up in 1976 and 1977. In 2014, the school's basketball program was runner up for the Oklahoma 6A basketball title, losing to Tulsa Union High School in the final. In 2016, Putnam City West's boys' basketball team beat Norman North for the 6A state title.

Lake Overholser is a reservoir within the city limits of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lake Overholser is formed by Overholser Dam on the North Canadian River in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. The lake is 2.9 miles (4.7 km) west of Bethany. And 4.4 mile from Yukon. Lake Overholser is named after Ed Overholser who was the 16th Mayor of the City of Oklahoma City.The lake was originally intended to assure an adequate supply of municipal water, since the city depended primarily on the North Canadian River as a source, supplemented by private wells. The need for flood control capability became obvious when the river flooded in 1923. It breached the Lake Overholser Dam, and inundated much of the city.

Eldon Lyon Park is the largest park owned and operated by the city of Bethany, Oklahoma. It contains many picnic tables, basketball courts, and a 11⁄2 mile track running around the perimeter of the park. During the 4th of July, the park is home of the Bethany Freedom Celebration. The Freedom Celebration includes rides, food, crafts booths, concerts, and fireworks.

The Sawyer Center, named for Carl Brannon Sawyer, is the main athletic facility for Southern Nazarene University (SNU) and seats over 5,000. It is used for basketball and volleyball games played by the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm. In addition to sporting events, the Sawyer Center also hosts all commencement, the New Student Institute for welcome week activities, and high school tournaments.
