Old Theatre of Vilnius

Embassy of Ukraine in Vilnius is the diplomatic mission of Ukraine in Lithuania.

The Lithuanian Theatre Union (Lithuanian: Lietuvos teatro sąjunga) is the official theatrical union of Lithuania. The association awards Lithuanian stage actors and plays with annual awards, from Best Actor and Best Young Actor categories to Best Productions. It declared independence from the new Soviet-based Union of Theatre Workers (Союз театральных деятелей) before the abortive coup of August 1991 and the recognition of the independence of the Baltic states. Many of the top theatre critics and people are a member of this union, which numbered 1000 members in 1987.

The Wilno Voivodeship (Polish: województwo wileńskie) was one of 16 Voivodeships in the Second Polish Republic, with the capital in Wilno (now Vilnius, Lithuania). The jurisdiction was created in 1926 and populated predominantly by Poles, with notable minorities of Belarusians, Jews and Lithuanians. Before 1926, the voivodeship's area was known as the Wilno Land; it had the same boundaries and was also within the contemporary borders of Poland at the time. The total area of Wilno Voivodeship was 29,011 km2 (11,201 sq mi), with a population of 1.276 million. Following the German and Soviet invasion of Poland and the reshaping of Europe, Poland's borders were redrawn at the insistence of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin at the Tehran Conference. Wilno Voivodeship was incorporated into the Lithuanian and the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republics. Many of the ethnic Polish population were forcibly resettled at the end of World War II. Since 1991, the former territory of the voivodeship is now part of sovereign Lithuania and sovereign Belarus.

The Vilnius Voivodeship (Latin: Palatinatus Vilnensis, Lithuanian: Vilniaus vaivadija, Polish: województwo wileńskie, Belarusian: Віленскае ваяводства) was one of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania's voivodeships, which existed from the voivodeship's creation in 1413 to the destruction of the Lithuanian state in 1795. This voivodeship was Lithuania's largest, most politically and economically important.

Evangelical Reformed Church (Lithuanian: Evangelikų reformatų bažnyčia) is a Continental Reformed Protestantic church in the Vilnius Old Town which was built in 1830–1835 according to a project of Karol Podczaszyński. In 2008 a new organ was installed in the church.Following a restoration, three sculptures on the main façade were reinstalled in 2022.

The Orthodox Church of St. Michael and St. Constantine (Lithuanian: Šv. Konstantino ir Michailo Cerkvė; Russian: Церковь Святых Константина и Михаила) is a Russian Orthodox church in Vilnius, Lithuania, belonging to the Russian Orthodox Diocese of Lithuania.. It was built in 1913 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. It was built by I. Kolesnikov, and incorporates the Rostov and Suzdal architectural styles. On its consecration day of May 13, the church was visited by the former royal figure Grand-Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna. She was known at the time of consecration as Sister Elizaveta and is now a martyr within the Russian Orthodox Church.

Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum (Lithuanian: Valstybinis Vilniaus Gaono Žydụ Muziejus; Yiddish: דער ווילנער גאון מלוכהשער יידישער מוז) is a Lithuanian museum dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of Lithuanian Jewry.

Tiškevičiai Palace is a former residential palace in Vilnius Old Town, near the intersection of Trakų and Pylimo streets. There have been masonry buildings on the site since the 15th century. The Baroque mansion was designed by Laurynas Gucevičius for the Karpiai noble family in the 18th century. The palace owes its name to the Tiškevičiai (Tyszkiewicz) noble family who commissioned Tomas Tyšeckis to reconstruct the building in 1840.The former palace belongs to the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and houses the Faculty of Architecture.

The Protestant Cemetery in Vilnius, Lithuania, was established in the early 19th century. As the city grew, there was a need to move the old Lutheran cemetery outside the city walls. The old cemetery, used from 1550s, was located on land donated by the Radziwiłł family on Liejyklos Street. Before the old cemetery was closed a professor of Vilnius University made an inventory of interesting tombstones. The list was acquired by Eustachy Tyszkiewicz and was stored in the Museum of Antiquities that he founded.The new cemetery was surrounded by a brick wall. It also had a shelter for the poor. The community built a brick chapel and incorporated some of the tombstones from the old cemetery. The white neo-classical chapel was equipped with bells and pipe organ. Since 1830, the cemetery was also used by Calvinists, who ran out of space in their old cemetery on Pylimo Street. In 1958 the cemetery was closed and in 1974 it was demolished and turned into a park by the Soviet authorities. The only remaining evidence of a cemetery is the Classical mausoleum for Jan Fryderyk Niszkowski, a prominent surgeon. The great chapel was also demolished and replaced by the Palace of Marriages (Lithuanian: Santuokų rūmai).

The Lithuanian Gay League (LGL) is the only non-governmental organization in Lithuania exclusively representing the interests of the local LGBT* community. The LGL association is one of the most stable and mature organizations within the civic sector in the country, as it was founded on 3 December 1993. The main principle, characterizing the activities of the association, is the principle of independence from any political or financial interests with the view of attaining effective social inclusion and integration of the local LGBT* community in Lithuania. Based on its expertise in the fields of advocacy, awareness raising and community building, accumulated during twenty years of organizational existence, LGL strives for the consistent progress in the field of human rights for LGBT* people.

Vilnius City Opera is an opera company that started in 2006 when a team of independent artists joined forces in staging Giacomo Puccini's La bohème. The artists included director Dalia Ibelhauptaitė, conductor Gintaras Rinkevičius and scene artist Juozas Statkevičius. The artists have called themselves bohemiečiai (the Bohemians) since this time. After 8 years of activity, the troupe acquired the status of a professional theatre and became known as the Vilnius City Opera. Vilnius City Opera has no theatre of their own and stage their operas in the Vilnius Congress Concert Hall. One of the main aims of VCO is to make the opera genre more widely available and to free it from elitist stereotypes and snobbishness.
