North Scarborough is an area within the town of Scarborough, Maine. It is centered on the intersection of Maine Route 22 (County Road) with Beech Ridge Road and Saco Street, and the adjacent junction of Route 22 and Maine Route 114 (Gorham Road). It is closely linked with the adjacent area of West Scarborough - in local perception, they're often mutually inclusive. North Scarborough borders the neighboring towns of Westbrook, Maine and Gorham, Maine. The abutting Gorham portion is referred to as South Gorham. Both Gorham and Scarborough co-locate emergency equipment in the North Scarborough Fire Station. Historically the intersection of Route 22 and Saco Street was called Coal Kiln Corner. North Scarborough sits atop a significant gravel aquifer.Notable neighborhood landmarks and businesses include the North Scarborough Grange Hall, Smiling Hill Farm, Wassamki Springs Campground, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Beech Ridge Farm and the Scarborough Fire Department's North Scarborough station.

Nonesuch River Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course located near the Nonesuch River in Scarborough, Maine, United States. Designed primarily by Tom Walker of the United States Golf Association, Nonesuch was opened to the public in 1997.

The Stephen Longfellow House is a historic house on Longfellow Road in Gorham, Maine. It was built in 1761, and was bought in 1775 by Stephen Longfellow, the great-grandfather of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and contains one of the state's finest Georgian interiors. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Walker Memorial Library is the public library of Westbrook, Maine, United States. It is located at 800 Main Street, in an architecturally distinguished French Chateauesque building designed by Frederick A. Tompson and built in 1894. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Vallée Family House is an historic house at 36 Monroe Avenue in Westbrook, Maine. Built in 1914, this architecturally undistinguished American Foursquare house was a childhood home of entertainer Rudy Vallée during the period in which his interests in music and entertaining developed. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Old Westbrook High School is a historic school building at 765 Main Street in central Westbrook, Maine. Built in 1886, it is one of the city's most architecturally sophisticated 19th-century buildings, designed by the Portland firm of Fassett & Tompson. Now converted to senior housing, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Westbrook High School (WHS) is a public high school in Westbrook, Maine, United States. The school serves grades 9 through 12, and usually enrolls between 600 and 800 students each year. It is part of the Westbrook School Department. The school competes in the Southern Maine Athletics Association (SMAA) and Class A athletics, as governed by the Maine Principals' Association. The school mascot is the "Blue Blazes".

The St. Hyacinth School and Convent are a pair of religious and educational buildings at 2 Walker Street in Westbrook, Maine. The school, built in 1894, is a fine local example of Second Empire design, and the 1922 convent is a good example of Gothic Revival architecture. Both were built by the local Roman Catholic parish of St. Hyacinth to support the burgeoning French-Canadian and French-American community, many of whom worked in the local mills. The buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. Both have been converted into residential housing.

Spring Harbor Hospital is a 100-bed free-standing nonprofit psychiatric hospital located in Westbrook, Maine. It is one of two free standing psychiatric hospitals in the state of Maine and offers services for both children and adults.

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway is a defunct 1/3 mile NASCAR-sanctioned asphalt oval auto racing track in Scarborough, Maine. The track is located near the Scarborough Downs horse racing track. Beech Ridge Motor Speedway hosted races on Saturday nights, as well as Thursdays. On Saturdays, the racing consisted of the Pro Series, Sport Series, and the Wild Cats. On Thursdays, the Mad Bombers, Beetle Bugs, Mighty Trucks, Ladies and Legends divisions participate. The Pro Series featured Super Late Model cars and for the 2018 season featured three former Oxford 250 winners. Maine's winningest stockcar driver Mike Rowe raced weekly at the track in the Pro Series. The track was opened in 1949 by Jim McConnell, an airplane mechanic. In 1981 it was bought by the Cusack family. It became a NASCAR sanctioned track in 1995.The facility hosted 18 NASCAR Busch North Series events between 1995 and 2003. The speedway also hosted 5 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races, one in 1995 and the other four from 2002 through 2005. The series returned to the track for the 2021 season. Beech Ridge Motor Speedway also had 10 ACT Late Model races between 2009 and 2017. On September 11, 2021, owner Andy Cusack announced that the track would be sold to developers. The last race at the speedway was held on September 26, 2021.

Woodlawn Cemetery is a publicly-owned cemetery in Westbrook, Maine, U.S. It was established in 1885. In 1933-34, Woodlawn was significantly improved by a make-work project by the Civil Works Administration. Three miles of avenues were given a coat of gravel among other improvements. It is the only cemetery in the city which offers winter burials.

PortConMaine is an annual four-day anime and gaming convention held during June at the DoubleTree by Hilton in South Portland, Maine. The convention uses outdoor tents due to space limitations and is also located across from The Maine Mall. PortConMaine was founded by Julie York.
