Nonesuch River Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course located near the Nonesuch River in Scarborough, Maine, United States. Designed primarily by Tom Walker of the United States Golf Association, Nonesuch was opened to the public in 1997.

WHXR (106.3 FM; "The Bone") is an active rock radio station licensed to serve Scarborough, Maine, with studios in Portland. Established in 1974, the station is owned by Binnie Media.

Scarborough Downs Race Track was a horse-racing track located in Scarborough, Maine, United States. It was Maine's largest race track. It was home to The Downs Club restaurant as well as a grandstand for race viewing, and includes 2 track-side lounges as well as a VIP Room. It held its final races on November 30, 2020.Scarborough Downs was constructed in 1949 as a racetrack for thoroughbred horse races and was completed in 1950. It was the only one of its kind in the state. Harness racing was introduced in the 1960s and for a while the track hosted both types of horse racing. However, in September 1972 the track became solely a harness racing track. In the 2000s, owner Joseph Ricci, also known for being one of the founders of the infamous Élan School, introduced simulcast wagering and the track began to offer simulcast races from premier thoroughbred and harness tracks from around North America. On October 1, 1980, a pre-dawn fire at Scarborough Downs, ignited as the result of an overloaded electrical box in a tack room, destroyed a 240-foot barn, killing eleven horses. The track hosted its final race ever on November 28, 2020, due to an agreement with developer Mike Cianchette, great-nephew of former Bangor and Lewiston Track Owner Bud Cianchette. The racing meet will move to Cumberland Fairgrounds which has held long meets before, with the expectation it will be full-time horse racing course by 2022. The 2021 season at Cumberland will be 64 days long total including 2021 fair First Tracks LLC got state approval and a license on February 8, 2021. MaineHealth has been using the facility as a COVID-19 vaccine distribution site since February 2021.

North Scarborough is an area within the town of Scarborough, Maine. It is centered on the intersection of Maine Route 22 (County Road) with Beech Ridge Road and Saco Street, and the adjacent junction of Route 22 and Maine Route 114 (Gorham Road). It is closely linked with the adjacent area of West Scarborough - in local perception, they're often mutually inclusive. North Scarborough borders the neighboring towns of Westbrook, Maine and Gorham, Maine. The abutting Gorham portion is referred to as South Gorham. Both Gorham and Scarborough co-locate emergency equipment in the North Scarborough Fire Station. Historically the intersection of Route 22 and Saco Street was called Coal Kiln Corner. North Scarborough sits atop a significant gravel aquifer.Notable neighborhood landmarks and businesses include the North Scarborough Grange Hall, Smiling Hill Farm, Wassamki Springs Campground, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Beech Ridge Farm and the Scarborough Fire Department's North Scarborough station.

Smiling Hill Farm is a 500 acre traditional New England farm encompassing parts of the municipalities of Westbrook, Scarborough, and Gorham, Maine. Founded in 1720 as the homestead of Nathaniel Knight, the 12th-generation descendants continue to operate the farm today. Known as the "Knight Farm", the farm was renamed "Smiling Hill Farm" by Roger D. Knight in 1974. Roger named the farm after a favorite childhood book, "Smiling Hill Farm" by Miriam E. Mason (1937). Smiling Hill Farm is known for its characteristic smiling cow logo. According to Family Business magazine, Smiling Hill Farm is the 9th oldest continually operating family business in the United States.

Dunstan is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Scarborough, Cumberland County, Maine, United States. Also known as West Scarborough, the community is in the southwest part of the town, along U.S. Route 1. Maine State Route 9 runs northward from Dunstan with US 1 towards Portland but leads southeastward out of the community as Pine Point Road, towards Old Orchard Beach. Interstate 95 (the Maine Turnpike) forms the northwestern edge of the CDP, and the York County line is the southwestern border, with the city of Saco directly adjacent to Dunstan. The northeast edge of the CDP is the Dunstan River, an arm of the tidal Scarborough River. Dunstan was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Portland Railroad Company Substation, now the Scarborough Historical Museum, is a former power substation of the Portland Railroad Company, a trolley service provider, at 649 United States Route 1 in Scarborough, Maine. The station was built in 1911, and is one of the few trolley-related facilities surviving in the state. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 22, 1991.

The West Scarborough United Methodist Church, also known as the Dunstan Methodist Episcopal Church, is a historic church on U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough, Maine. The church building, built in 1839 and extensively altered in 1907, is one of the few surviving works of Maine architect and artist Harry Hayman Cochrane. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 for its architectural significance.

The Old Scarborough High School is a historic former school building at 272 United States Route 1 in Scarborough, Maine. Built in 1926 as the town's first dedicated high school building, this Georgian Revival building is now part of Bessey Commons, an assisted living facility. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. The current Scarborough High School is located on Municipal Drive.

The Dunstan River is a 6.0-mile-long (9.7 km) river in the town of Scarborough in Cumberland County, Maine, USA. Its lower portion flows through salt marshes and it is a tributary of the tidal Scarborough River.
