Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School, is an independent, Anglican, day school for girls, located in Ivanhoe, an eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Established in 1903, the school has a non-selective enrolment policy and currently caters for over 850 students from the Early Learning Centre (ELC) to Year 12. Darebin Creek Bridge is a bluestone masonry arch and concrete road bridge on Heidelberg road Alphington over Darebin Creek. It was built for Heidelberg Road Trust to a design of John C Climie CE and constructed by contractor O. H. Willison in 1864, to replace an earlier 1852 timber bridge which had fallen into a poor state of repair. The bridge was made possible as a result of funds obtained from a toll gate, established on the east side of the Darebin Creek by the Heidelberg Road Trust. The toll keeper was Henry Holloway, and the charges included one farthing for every pig that crossed the bridge and up to eighteen pence for a carriage with four horses.It was subsequently widened by the Country Roads Board (CRB) in 1937-8 probably to a design of W.A. (Allan) Ozanne. the bridge is one of the largest stone arch bridges in Victoria and among the oldest surviving bridges in Melbourne.

Heidelberg Town Hall is a civic building located on Upper Heidelberg Road in Ivanhoe, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. It is now more commonly known as The Centre Ivanhoe Opened in April 1937, the building was designed by architectural firm Peck & Kemter in association with A.C. Leith & Bartlett for the Heidelberg City Council (now Banyule City Council) and was influenced by the Hilversum Town Hall in the Netherlands. It listed on the Victorian Heritage Register, described as "the greatest and most eloquent expression of the interwar brick Moderne style in Victoria." The architects were awarded the Royal Victorian Institute of Architects Victorian Street Architecture Medal for 1939 for the building.

St. John's College St John’s College is an independent co-educational P-12 school, founded on the Greek Orthodox tradition. Initially established in North Carlton in 1979, the college moved to its current location in Preston in 1984. Alphington Grammar School is an independent, co-educational secondary school located in Alphington, Victoria, Australia, established by the Orthodox Community of Melbourne in 1988.The school was designed to reflect the cultural diversity of Melbourne, and is non-denominational with students from around 25 ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Darebin Creek is a creek that runs through the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is the main watercourse of the Darebin Valley and a major tributary of the Yarra River. For tens of thousands of years it was used as a food and tool source sustainably by the Wurundjeri people, Indigenous Australians of the Kulin nation alliance, who spoke variations of the Woiwurrung language group. The creek rises on the northern urban fringe of Melbourne north of the suburb of Epping, following a general southerly route and meeting the Yarra at Alphington. The creek forms much of the municipal boundary between the City of Darebin and City of Banyule. Formerly an intermittent stream, increased stormwater runoff with urbanisation of the Darebin Creek catchment has resulted in permanent water flow. The creek runs through Darebin Parklands, a large nature reserve one or two kilometres northwest of the junction at which the creek meets the Yarra. The Darebin Creek Trail runs along the banks in the lower reaches of the creek.

It serves the north-eastern Melbourne suburb of Alphington, and opened on 8 May 1888.In 1966, boom barriers replaced interlocked gates at the Yarralea Street level crossing, located at the down end of the station. The signal box and a goods yard was also abolished at that time.

Mother of God Primary School (nicknamed "MOG") was a primary school in Ivanhoe East, Victoria. The school opened in 1963 after being converted from an old house. In the schools infancy the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition taught grades prep to grade 3. With extensions to the school in 1964, it allowed grades 4 and 5 to accepted and then grade 6 students later on.In August 2017, Catholic Education Melbourne confirmed that a review was being undertaken to determine the viability of schools in the Ivanhoe Parish which consisted of three schools, Mary Immaculate School and St Bernadette's School, which are still open and Mother of God. Following the review, the school closed at the end of 2017 with the reasons being "limited enrolment growth" and the need for the Ivanhoe parish to consolidate their resources. In 2016 the school had 106 students enrolled.The site of the school is now leased as the middle school for years 2 and 3 for the neighbouring Ivanhoe East Primary School.
