Amicable Society for a Perpetual Assurance Office

49–50 Fleet Street sometimes called the Norwich Union Insurance Building is a Grade II listed Edwardian former office block that stands on Fleet Street in the City of London.

Sells Ltd, an advertising agency, was opened in 1869 in London. By 1900, it was the largest agency in the world with offices in London, Paris, Edinburgh and Montreal. In the 1950s, it made advertising history when it appointed the first woman to be a managing director in the business. Olive Hirst had joined Sells in 1931 as a typist and then worked across a number of departments. In January 1950, she was the first women to be appointed to the Board and in 1954 she took over the managing directors role.The agency won the Layton Trophy in 1959.The agency was merged with another in the 1960s.

Serjeant's Inn (formerly Serjeants' Inn) was the legal inn of the Serjeants-at-Law in London. Originally there were two separate societies of Serjeants-at-law: the Fleet Street inn dated from 1443 and the Chancery Lane inn dated from 1416. In 1730, the Fleet Street lease was not renewed and the two societies merged. The society's relevance diminished as Serjeants-at-Law were gradually superseded by Queen's Counsel in the nineteenth century. The building in Chancery Lane was sold in 1877 and the assets were distributed amongst the surviving members, although the society was not formally dissolved. The last member, Lord Lindley, died in 1921. (A. M. Sullivan, who died in 1959, was appointed to the equivalent Irish office in 1912, when the English society had effectively dissolved.)The Fleet Street building was destroyed in the 1941 bombing raids during World War II.

Multimap.com was a provider of mapping and location-based services. Founded around 1997 and based in London, it was acquired by Microsoft in 2007 for $50 million.It was then merged into Bing Maps.It offered street maps and door-to-door travel directions on a public web site. Other offerings included aerial photography, local information, and business services. Services were also offered through its partners, including accommodation, restaurant and train-ticket booking. It also sold historic and aerial photograph prints. Multimap offered discrete panning by clicking links, a form of user interaction later displaced by continuous panning 'slippy' maps. The Geo microformat was used to provide a Wikipedia map overlay generated from the official database download. This was used to browse geotagged articles.

El Vino, also known as El Vino's, is a wine bar and off-licence in Fleet Street that was famously patronised by journalists when many national newspapers were based nearby. The business was founded by the wine merchant Alfred Bower in Mark Lane as Bower and Co. in 1879. That was on the east side of the City of London and, as the business prospered by selling imported Burgundy, claret and sherry, he opened four more wine bars, including the famous branch in Fleet Street. In 1923, the business had to change its name so that Bower could become an alderman, and so it was renamed El Vino – the Spanish name for wine. Bower then became Lord Mayor and the business continued in his family until 2015, when it was sold to the Davy chain of wine bars.For much of its history, the bar required male customers to wear ties, and although women customers were permitted, they were not allowed to approach the bar to be served and drink. In 1983 in the case Gill and Coote v El Vino Ltd, Tess Gill and Anna Coote successfully challenged El Vino’s ban on women being served at the bar and drinking there rather than having their drinks brought to them at a table; the ban was held to be an illegal violation of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.

Fuzzy's Grub was a restaurant chain located in London, England. It opened its first Fuzzy's in Fleet Street in 2002 and was set up by Fazila Collins and Georgina Laing, also known by the nicknames Fuzzy and Grub. The chain was primarily a takeaway restaurant specialising in roast dinners, which were served either in box containers or as a sandwich (between thick slices of bread). The roast dinner sandwiches contained everything that was provided in the boxes, including peas and gravy. In 2008, Fuzzy's was in danger of administration. and the chain was dissolved later in 2008.As of December 2017 there is one restaurant using the Fuzzy's Grub name, in Houndsditch, London, England. This restaurant has no connection to the former chain.

The Dorset Garden Theatre in London, built in 1671, was in its early years also known as the Duke of York's Theatre, or the Duke's Theatre. In 1685, King Charles II died and his brother, the Duke of York, was crowned as James II. When the Duke became King, the theatre became the Queen's Theatre in 1685, referring to James' second wife, Mary of Modena. The name remained when William III and Mary II came to the throne in 1689. It was the fourth home of the Duke's Company, one of the two patent theatre companies in Restoration London, and after 1682 continued to be used by the company's successor, the United Company. It was demolished in 1709.

Bouverie Street is a street in the City of London, off Fleet Street, which once was the home of some of Britain's most widely circulated newspapers as well as the Whitefriars Priory. The offices of the News Chronicle, a British daily paper, were based there until it ceased publication on 17 October 1960 after being absorbed into the Daily Mail. The News of the World had its offices at No. 30 until its move to Wapping in the mid-1980s. Bouverie Street was also the location of the offices of Punch magazine until the 1990s, and for some decades of those of Lutterworth Press, one of Britain's oldest independent publishers, celebrated for The Boy's Own Paper and its sister The Girl's Own Paper. The street's name comes from the landlords of the area, the Pleydell-Bouveries, Earls of Radnor.The Planet News Press Photo Agency was based at 8 Bouverie Street until the WWII Blitz forced them to relocate to no. 3 Johnson's Court, just across Fleet Street. Dr Johnson's House is a writer's house museum in London in the former home of the 18th-century English writer and lexicographer Samuel Johnson. The house is a Grade I listed building.
