Dwight Deere Wiman (August 8, 1895 – January 20, 1951) was an American silent movie actor, playwright and theatrical director. He is best known as a Broadway producer.

Willard Lamb Velie (1866 – October 24, 1928) was a businessman based in Moline, Illinois. He was an executive at Deere & Company before starting his own companies, which grew to become Velie Motor Company. He developed advanced engines for automobiles and airplanes.

LeClaire Hotel is an historic building located in downtown Moline, Illinois, United States. It was named a Moline Historic Landmark in 1993, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The building now houses apartments and is known as the LeClaire Apartments.

The Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center is a convention center located in Bettendorf, Iowa, United States. The name for the facility in the development stages was the Bettendorf Events Center. A ground breaking ceremony for the center was held on October 6, 2006. Construction was delayed in late 2006 because the project was $2 million over budget and the Isle of Capri, who was to operate the facility for the city, was completing a marketing study. Once construction got underway it was completed in early 2009. The facility contains 24,000 sq ft (2,200 m2) of space, which includes a 15,000 sq ft (1,400 m2) ballroom and eight private meeting rooms. The convention center is owned by the city of Bettendorf and is operated by the Isle of Capri Casino & Hotel, which is connected by way of a skywalk.

The Old Moline Post Office is a former post office building located at 1800 River Drive in Moline, Illinois. Built in 1910 it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Moline Downtown Commercial Historic District. Built in 1910 at a cost of $157,000, it operated as a post office only until 1935, when an increase in mail volume necessitated a new office constructed one block away at 514 17th Street.

Moline High School is a public four-year high school located in Moline, Illinois, a city in Rock Island County, in the Midwest area of the United States. The school is the only public high school in the city of Moline, and is part of Moline-Coal Valley School District #40.

The Moline Downtown Commercial Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Moline, Illinois, United States. Centered on 5th Avenue, it is roughly bounded by 12th Street to 18th Street, 4th Avenue to 7th Avenue. The distinct covers 33-acre (0.13 km2) and includes 114 buildings. One hundred of the buildings contribute to the significance of the district because they retain their historic and architectural integrity and reflect the character of the historic downtown.

Wharton Field House is a historic arena located at 1800 20th Avenue in Moline, Illinois. It opened in 1928. It was home to the NBA's Tri-Cities Blackhawks, today's Atlanta Hawks, from 1946 to 1951. It has hosted professional teams, high school teams, concerts, and other events in its history. The approximately 7,000 seat Field House is adjacent to Browning Field, which has served as a baseball, football and track venue. Today, both Wharton Field House and Browing Field continue to serve as the home for Moline High School athletic teams. In 2004, USA Today named Wharton Field House one of the top places to watch high school basketball.
