1984 U.S. Women's Open

The 1954 U.S. Women's Open was the ninth U.S. Women's Open, held July 1–3 at Salem Country Club in Peabody, Massachusetts. It was the second conducted by the United States Golf Association (USGA). Babe Zaharias won her third U.S. Women's Open, twelve strokes ahead of runner-up Betty Hicks, a record victory margin which still stands. It was the last of her ten major championships and her final U.S. Women's Open as a competitor. Zaharias missed the event in 1953 while recovering from surgery for colon cancer. She did not defend in 1955 due to back surgery, which discovered that cancer had recurred near her sacrum and she died in September 1956 at age 45.Future four-time champion Mickey Wright, age 19, was the low amateur and tied for fourth place. She was paired with Zaharias on Saturday for the final two rounds and impressed the three-time champion.

The John Proctor House is a historic First Period house in Peabody, Massachusetts, United States. According to local tradition, this wood-frame house was occupied by John Proctor, who was convicted and hanged for witchcraft during the Salem witch trials of 1692. However, dendrochronology has determined the house was built c. 1727 by Proctor's son Thorndike, who purchased the property from Charles Downing around that time. The house remained in the Proctor family into the mid-19th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is not open to the public.

The Nathaniel Felton Houses are a pair of historic houses at 43 and 47 Felton Street in Peabody, Massachusetts. The Peabody Historical Society owns and operates the homes as historic house museums. The house of Nathaniel Felton Sr., at 47 Felton Street, was built c. 1700. The house of his son, Nathaniel Felton Jr., was built at a different location, and moved to its present location by his grandson.The houses were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Peabody Veterans Memorial High School (PVMHS), also known as Peabody High School, is a comprehensive and competitive public high school in Peabody, Massachusetts, United States. It is the only comprehensive public high school in the Peabody School District, spanning grades 9–12 in the U.S. education system. It is particularly known for its performing arts program including its a D1 athletic program instrumental and choral ensembles and drama club.

WEEI-FM (93.7 MHz) – branded SportsRadio 93.7 WEEI-FM – is a commercial sports radio station licensed to Lawrence, Massachusetts, serving Greater Boston and much of surrounding New England. Owned by Audacy, Inc., WEEI-FM is the Boston affiliate for Infinity Sports Network, the NFL on Westwood One Sports, the flagship station for the Boston Red Sox Radio Network; and the radio home of Greg Hill, Lou Merloni, Christian Fauria and Jermaine Wiggins. The WEEI-FM studios are located in Boston's Brighton neighborhood, while the station transmitter resides in the nearby suburb of Peabody. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WEEI-FM broadcasts over two HD Radio channels, and is available online via Audacy. WEEI-FM's weekday programming lineup is also regionally syndicated to a network of stations throughout New England (including those owned by Audacy except WEII), most of which use the "SportsRadio WEEI" franchised brand. The sports format currently heard on WEEI-FM launched on September 3, 1991, on the former WEEI (590 AM). The call letters WEEI-FM, formerly on a station in Westerly, Rhode Island, were granted on September 21, 2011, as part of a call letter shuffle. The 93.7 frequency, established in 1960, has carried WEEI programming since September 12, 2011, and has been the primary station for local WEEI programming since October 4, 2012.

The Southwick House is a historic house in Peabody, Massachusetts. Probably built about 1750, it is one of the city's oldest surviving structures, and has a long association with a prominent local family. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Moore–Hill House is a historic house in Peabody, Massachusetts. It is an excellent example of a Gothic Victorian house, built in 1874 for W. H. Hill. The 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame building has a cross gable roof line, with the main roof line running crosswise. The front cornice, including the central front gable section, is decorated with paired brackets (a typical Italianate decoration), and the front windows have decorative surrounds. The front door is centrally located and sheltered by an ornate entablature, above which is a round-arched window.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The George Peabody House Museum is a historic house museum at 205 Washington Street in Peabody, Massachusetts. It is dedicated to the life and deeds of 19th century U.S. entrepreneur, philanthropist, and namesake of the city, George Peabody. The museum shares its location with the Peabody Leather Museum. Within its walls, in 1795, George Peabody was born in what was then called South Danvers.

The Samuel Brown School is a historic school building at 200 Lynn St. in Peabody, Massachusetts. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 12, 2009.

The Rebecca Nurse Homestead is a historic colonial house built ca. 1678 located at 149 Pine Street, Danvers, Massachusetts. It had many additions through the years, eventually being historically restored and turned into a museum in 1909. Today it is owned and operated by the Danvers Alarm List Company, a volunteer non-profit organization of Revolutionary War reenactors, and is part of the Salem Village Historic District.

The Judge Samuel Holten House (circa 1670) is a historic house located at 171 Holten Street, Danvers, Massachusetts. It is currently owned by the Daughters of the American Revolution, and open by appointment. The colonial site first belonged to Richard Ingersoll (died 1644). In 1670 his wife left the land to her second husband upon her death, and thence to his daughter Sarah, whose second husband Joseph Holten deeded the lot (and perhaps also the house) to his son Benjamin Holten. Benjamin died in 1689, and his will records both the land and a house. Given this background, it is believed that Benjamin Holten built the house circa 1670 in a typical "one-room" layout. Multiple additions were made over the centuries. The house is historically interesting as the home of Sarah Holten, who in 1692 gave testimony against Rebecca Nurse which led to her death in the Salem Witch Trials. During the American Revolutionary War, it was the home of Judge Samuel Holten, a Founding Father of the United States who served in the Continental Congress, including as its president pro tempore, was a signer of the Articles of Confederation, and who was an early member of the United States House of Representatives (March 4, 1793 – March 3, 1795). The house was acquired by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1921, and has been extensively restored.

The Liberty Tree Mall is a shopping mall in Danvers, Massachusetts, U.S., managed by the Simon Property Group. It is anchored by Kohl's, Total Wine & More, AMC Theatres, Marshalls, Old Navy, Sky Zone, and Best Buy, along with Aldi Simon Property Group owns one-third of the common area of the mall; the Michaels Strip Mall, and the entire interior space between Kohl's and Best Buy. The right-hand area of the property from Best Buy to Staples is owned by Target. The property from Kohl's to Dick's Sporting Goods is owned by New England Development, the mall's original developer.
