Camp Edwin M. Stanton (usually known as just Camp Stanton) was an American Civil War training camp that existed from 1861 to 1862 in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. When the camp first opened in 1861 it was known as Camp Schouler, named for Massachusetts Adjutant General William Schouler. In some references it is misspelled as Camp Schuyler. After President Abraham Lincoln's call for 300,000 troops in July 1862, the camp was revived and renamed in honor of United States Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton. It served as the training camp and rendezvous for recruits from eastern Massachusetts (recruits from western Massachusetts were sent to Camp Wool in Worcester, Massachusetts). The camp trained ten infantry regiments and four artillery batteries of the Massachusetts militia, including the 17th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 33rd, 35th, 38th, 39th, 40th, and 41st regiments of infantry and the 3rd, 5th, 9th, and 10th batteries of light artillery. Soldiers stationed at Camp Schouler/Stanton during training included Edward A. Wild, Henry Wilson, Nelson A. Miles, Edward Winslow Hinks, and Arthur F. Devereux. During World War I it was renamed Camp Houston and served as a Massachusetts National Guard mobilization camp in 1917. It was located on the Newburyport Turnpike (now part of U.S. Route 1) near the Peabody, Massachusetts line. The camp was divided into streets, with tents and cook houses located on both sides of the Turnpike to Suntaug Lake.

Peabody Veterans Memorial High School (PVMHS), also known as Peabody High School, is a comprehensive and competitive public high school in Peabody, Massachusetts, United States. It is the only comprehensive public high school in the Peabody School District, spanning grades 9–12 in the U.S. education system. It is particularly known for its performing arts program including its a D1 athletic program instrumental and choral ensembles and drama club.

Covenant Christian Academy (CCAQ) is a private Christian school and classical day school located in West Peabody, Massachusetts, USA, on the North Shore of Boston in Essex County. Founded in 1991, it is a college preparatory school, with over 380 students in pre-school through grade twelve, and draws students from over 45 cities and towns in Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

The 1954 U.S. Women's Open was the ninth U.S. Women's Open, held July 1–3 at Salem Country Club in Peabody, Massachusetts. It was the second conducted by the United States Golf Association (USGA). Babe Zaharias won her third U.S. Women's Open, twelve strokes ahead of runner-up Betty Hicks, a record victory margin which still stands. It was the last of her ten major championships and her final U.S. Women's Open as a competitor. Zaharias missed the event in 1953 while recovering from surgery for colon cancer. She did not defend in 1955 due to back surgery, which discovered that cancer had recurred near her sacrum and she died in September 1956 at age 45.Future four-time champion Mickey Wright, age 19, was the low amateur and tied for fourth place. She was paired with Zaharias on Saturday for the final two rounds and impressed the three-time champion.

The 1984 U.S. Women's Open was the 39th U.S. Women's Open, held July 12–15 at Salem Country Club in Peabody, Massachusetts. Hollis Stacy won her third U.S. Women's Open, one stroke ahead of runner-up Rosie Jones. It was Stacy's fourth and final major title. The championship was played here thirty years earlier in 1954, won by Babe Zaharias, her tenth and final major title.

The Nathaniel Felton Houses are a pair of historic houses at 43 and 47 Felton Street in Peabody, Massachusetts. The Peabody Historical Society owns and operates the homes as historic house museums. The house of Nathaniel Felton Sr., at 47 Felton Street, was built c. 1700. The house of his son, Nathaniel Felton Jr., was built at a different location, and moved to its present location by his grandson.The houses were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The John Proctor House is a historic First Period house in Peabody, Massachusetts, United States. According to local tradition, this wood-frame house was occupied by John Proctor, who was convicted and hanged for witchcraft during the Salem witch trials of 1692. However, dendrochronology has determined the house was built c. 1727 by Proctor's son Thorndike, who purchased the property from Charles Downing around that time. The house remained in the Proctor family into the mid-19th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is not open to the public.

The Judge Samuel Holten House (circa 1670) is a historic house located at 171 Holten Street, Danvers, Massachusetts. It is currently owned by the Daughters of the American Revolution, and open by appointment. The colonial site first belonged to Richard Ingersoll (died 1644). In 1670 his wife left the land to her second husband upon her death, and thence to his daughter Sarah, whose second husband Joseph Holten deeded the lot (and perhaps also the house) to his son Benjamin Holten. Benjamin died in 1689, and his will records both the land and a house. Given this background, it is believed that Benjamin Holten built the house circa 1670 in a typical "one-room" layout. Multiple additions were made over the centuries. The house is historically interesting as the home of Sarah Holten, who in 1692 gave testimony against Rebecca Nurse which led to her death in the Salem Witch Trials. During the American Revolutionary War, it was the home of Judge Samuel Holten, a Founding Father of the United States who served in the Continental Congress, including as its president pro tempore, was a signer of the Articles of Confederation, and who was an early member of the United States House of Representatives (March 4, 1793 – March 3, 1795). The house was acquired by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1921, and has been extensively restored.

Lynn Woods Reservation (founded 1881) is a 2,200-acre (8.9 km2) municipal forest park located in Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts. The City of Lynn's Department of Public Works, Park Commission and Lynn Water & Sewer Commission share jurisdiction and management of Lynn Woods Reservation. The park encompasses nearly one-fifth of the entire land area of the city and represents a significant natural, watershed and public recreational resource in eastern Massachusetts. The entire portion of the reservation with Lynn city bounds was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 as a historic district. (A small portion of the park is actually in neighboring Saugus.)

The Salem Village Historic District encompasses a collection of properties from the early center of Salem Village, as Danvers, Massachusetts was known in the 17th century. The district includes an irregular pattern of properties along Centre, Hobart, Ingersoll, and Collins Streets, as far north as Brentwood Circle, and south to Mello Parkway. It includes several buildings notable for their association with the 1692 Salem witch trials, which were mostly centered on individuals who lived in Salem Village. Included in the village are the Rebecca Nurse Homestead, now a house museum, and the remains of the local parsonage, both places of relevance to the witch hysteria.The Town of Danvers, Mass., voted at the Annual Town Meeting on March 18, 1974 to establish this area as a local historic district regulated by a Historic District Commission, in order to preserve the historic structures and their architectural features. The district was then listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Rebecca Nurse Homestead is a historic colonial house built ca. 1678 located at 149 Pine Street, Danvers, Massachusetts. It had many additions through the years, eventually being historically restored and turned into a museum in 1909. Today it is owned and operated by the Danvers Alarm List Company, a volunteer non-profit organization of Revolutionary War reenactors, and is part of the Salem Village Historic District.

The Samuel Brown School is a historic school building at 200 Lynn St. in Peabody, Massachusetts. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 12, 2009.
