Hugill

Ings is a village in the South Lakeland district of Cumbria, England. It lies on the course on the River Gowan and A591 road, 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Windermere.Ings is located in the parish of Hugill, historically a part of Westmorland. The Grade II*-listed St Anne's Church is located within the village.

High Knott, marked on some Ordnance Survey maps as Williamson's Monument, is a hill in the eastern part of the English Lake District, near Staveley, Cumbria. The monument on its summit was built by the Reverend T. Williamson in 1803, in memory of his father Thomas Williamson, who had climbed the fell every day before breakfast. The fell is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. It reaches 901 feet (275 m) and Wainwright's route starts near the 17th-century Ulthwaite Bridge on the River Kent, climbing High Knott and then making a clockwise circuit to the early British village site at Hugill and "over the pleasant heights on the west side of mid-Kentmere". Access to the summit is (at May 2016) forbidden by the landowner.

Reston Scar is a fell in the Lake District of Cumbria, England. It overlooks the north side of Staveley village, and is listed among Alfred Wainwright's "Outlying Fells of Lakeland" guide. The summit offers good views of the Coniston Fells, the Sca Fells and the Langdale Pikes. The main footpath up to the summit from Staveley passes to the south of Kemp Tarn, the largest of several ponds on the Scar. The summit is at 834 feet (254 m) and has a cairn. In his book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland, Wainwright describes the ascent of Reston Scar from Staveley and calls the fell "a fine place for a siesta on a sunny day".

Hugill Fell is a hill in the English Lake District, near Staveley, Cumbria, on the western side of the Kentmere valley. It is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. It reaches 840 feet (260 m) and Wainwright's walk is an ascent from Staveley and return on the same route. There is a cairn on the summit.

School Knott is a hill in the Lake District, England, to the east of Windermere town, Cumbria. It is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. His recommended route starts at Windermere railway station and includes Grandsire at 818 feet (249 m) and a nameless summit at 806 feet (246 m). The summit is at 760 feet (230 m) and offers a view of four sections of Windermere, the lake. It has a rocky outcrop but no trig point and, as reported by Wainwright, no cairn. Schoolknott Tarn is to the south-east of the summit.

Over Staveley is a civil parish in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England. The parish comprises most of the village of Staveley north of the River Gowan, and areas of farmland and fell (including Brunt Knott) extending some 3 miles (5 km) north of the village. At the 2011 census it had a population of 437.The parish is within the Lake District National Park. It has a joint parish council with Hugill and Nether Staveley, formed in 2004 and called Staveley with Ings Parish Council.

Staveley railway station is a railway station in Staveley in Cumbria, England. The station is on the Windermere Branch Line connecting Oxenholme and Windermere. The station is owned by Network Rail and is operated by Northern Trains who provide all passenger train services, Staveley was a request stop until December 2012.

Nether Staveley is a civil parish in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England. The parish comprises the part of the village of Staveley south of the River Gowan and River Kent, and areas of farmland south of the village. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 677, increasing at the 2011 census to 710.It has a joint parish council with Hugill and Over Staveley, formed in 2004 and called Staveley with Ings Parish Council.

St James' Church, Staveley is a Grade II listed parish church in the Church of England in Staveley, Cumbria. Its benefice is united with that of St Martin's Church, Bowness-on-Windermere; St Anne's Church, Ings; St Cuthbert's Church, Kentmere; Jesus Church, Troutbeck and St Mary's Church, Windermere.

Staveley (grid reference SD469981) is a village in the South Lakeland district, in Cumbria, England. Historically part of Westmorland, it is situated 4 miles (6 km) northwest of Kendal where the River Kent is joined by its tributary the Gowan. It is also known as Staveley-in-Westmorland and Staveley-in-Kendal to distinguish it from Staveley-in-Cartmel (a small village near Newby Bridge which is now in Cumbria but was previously in Lancashire). There are three civil parishes – Nether Staveley, Over Staveley and Hugill (part). Their total population at the 2011 Census was 1,593 but this includes those living in the hamlet of Ings in Hugill parish.

Hollin Hall is a country house in Crook in Cumbria. It is a Grade II listed building.

Staveley Mill Yard is a former bobbin (spool) mill, which is now used for a variety of different local industries, shops and other commercial ventures. It is situated in the centre of the village of Staveley, Cumbria, just off the main street.
