La Carrera (43°23′0″N 5°41′0″W) is a parish in Siero, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. It is located south of Highway N-634 and north of Highway A-64. The capital, Pola de Siero, is to the northeast.

Pola de Siero (in Asturian and as official name La Pola Siero, and also known as La Pola colloquially) is a town in the autonomous community of Asturias on the north coast of the Kingdom of Spain. It is the administrative capital of the municipality (concejo) of Siero. Pola de Siero is located in the centre of Asturias, approximately 16 km (10 mi) east of the regional Capital Oviedo and 16 km south of Gijón. Siero borders on the municipalities of Gijón, to the north, Langreo and San Martín del Rey Aurelio, to the south, Llanera and Oviedo, to the west, and Sariego, Nava and Bimenes, to the east. It entirely surrounds the municipality of Noreña and touches Villaviciosa at one point: La Peña de los Cuatro Jueces (The Mount of the Four Judges) According to the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (Spain), Pola de Siero has a population of 12,615 making it the largest population centre in the municipality and the seventh largest in Asturias.Pola de Siero was founded by a charter of King Alfonso X in 1270. On the site prior to that date there was a hostel which provided accommodation and sustenance for pilgrims travelling the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago), en route to or from Santiago de Compostela. The charter allowed the formation of the town, imposed an annual tax on the inhabitants to be paid to the crown, and granted them a license to hold a weekly market in the town square, Plaza les Campes. This market, a feature of Pola de Siero which continues, every Tuesday, to this day; was the decisive factor in the development of the town. With the market, the town became the focal point of a large rural area of fertile land, and thereafter other commercial and administrative functions followed.

Valdesoto is a parish located in the southeastern part of Siero, a municipality (conceyu) in the province and autonomous community of Asturias in northern Spain. It is consecrated to Saint Felix. There are 15 villages within Valdesoto. The population as of 2005 was 1967 inhabitants. The postcode is 33938. Valdesoto occupies a wide plateau or valley surrounded by mountains, with masses of trees, and is crossed by several creeks and streams, including one that crosses the parish from north to south, with the same name as Valdesoto. The main routes are the AS-1, called Minera Autovía between Gijón and Mieres, the AS-246, called the Carretera Carbonera between Gijón and Langreo, provincial roads and SI-8 SI-11 SI-16 . In addition, the Cantabrian motorway passes close to the parish, in liaison with the municipal capital, Pola de Siero, just 4 kilometers from Valdesoto. The parish is also crossed by the narrow gauge railway between Gijón and FEVE Laviana, with two stops within its boundaries. The parish derives its name etymologically from the geographical description: the conjunction of the words "valley" and "soto" (mountain, forest, village site trees in riparian or meadow). The older form, Valle de Soto, has become Valdesoto.

It has a surface area of 6.89 km2 (2.66 sq mi) and a population of 1,001 people (INE 2007). Santa Maria Tiñana is an eighteenth-century church dedicated to Our Lady of the Visitation.

Riañu (Spanish: Riaño) is one of six parishes (administrative divisions) in Langreo, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. The residential area of Riañu was built on the existing farmland in the area during the 1960s, in order to decongest the urban core of Langreo. Today, about 5000 people live in the parish. In 1978 a hospital, the Hospital Valle del Nalón, was opened in the parish. Riañu also has a medical center, a library, a sports center, two public schools and a geriatric facility. It is located three kilometres from la Felguera.

Vega de Poja is a parish (administrative division) in Siero, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. The parish is located to the North East of the administrative capital of the municipality, Pola de Siero, between Highway AS-331 and Highway AS-248. According to the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (Spain), In 2008, Vega de Poja had a population of 977.

Santolaya de Vixil is a parish (administrative division) in Siero, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. The center is about 3 km (1.9 mi) from the capital, Pola de Siero.
