Sindos (Greek: Σίνδος; Latin: Sindus; is a suburb of Thessaloniki, Greece. It is the seat of the municipality of Delta. Sindos is home to the main campus of the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki and the Industrial Zone of the city. The community Sindos has an area of 47.248 km2. The population was 9,289 at the 2011 census.In antiquity, Sindos was noted by Herodotus (vii. 123); and Stephanus of Byzantium as a maritime town of Mygdonia in Macedonia, between Therme and Chalastra. The site of the ancient town is tentatively identified with a location near modern Nea Ankhialos, located at 40°40′12″N 22°48′00″E.

Sindos railway station (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Σίνδος, romanized: Sidirodromikós stathmós Sindos) is a railway station that serves the suburb of Sindos in the municipality of Delta, Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. Opened on 9 September 2007, along with the suburban railway. The station is served by Regional stopping services Florina, Kalambaka, Palaiofarsalos and Thessaloniki, and since 9 September 2007 by Proastiakos Thessaloniki services to Larissa, Edessa, and Thessaloniki. In the future, the station will join the Thessaloniki Metro through an extension from NSSTH and Kordelio. The old station building will house the museum of the Balkan Games.

The Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece (Greek: Τεχνολογικό Εκπαιδευτικό Ίδρυμα Δυτικής Ελλάδας) was a Greek tertiary educational institution, based in Patras with more than 20,000 students.

The Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (Greek: Αλεξάνδρειο Τεχνολογικό Εκπαιδευτικό Ίδρυμα Θεσσαλονίκης), was a higher education public institute, part of the Greek tertiary education system, specialized on science. As of 2017, there was a student population of 30,000 registered students with more than 430 faculty members and 200 administrative staff. In 2019, the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki merged with the Technological Educational Institute of Central Macedonia, the Technological Educational Institute of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, and the International Hellenic University in order to form a new university, with the name of the latter.

Echedoros (Greek: Εχέδωρος) is a former municipality in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. The seat of the municipality was in Sindos. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Delta, of which it is a municipal unit. The 2011 census recorded 29,367 inhabitants in the municipal unit. The municipal unit of Echedoros covers an area of 103.147 km2. In antiquity Echedorus was a river rising in the mountains of Grestonia and falling into the Thermaic Gulf at Sindus.

Nea Magnisia (Greek: Νέα Μαγνησία), before 1927 known as Arapli (Greek: Αραπλή), is a town and a community of the Delta municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Echedoros, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 4,266 inhabitants in the village. The community of Nea Magnisia covers an area of 14.805 km2.

G.S. YLTEX Lykoi Thessaloniki also known as ILTEX Lykoi (Greek: ΗΛΤΕΞ Λύκοι) is a reestablished football club based in Kalochori, Thessaloniki, Greece. The team was owned by the Greek businessman Kostas Iliadis. Iliadis was the owner of a group of companies that consisted of Iltex Lykoi, Knitting Mills of Pieria, Iltex S.A, Dyeing Industry of Sindos S.A, Dyeing Industry of Kilkis S.A, Iltex Construction company S.A, with a total turnover of 70 million Euro and 900 people staff. Iliadis group of companies was the most important textile company in Greece for more than a decade (1990–2003). In 2004 the problems of reduced demand, inadequate financing from banks to textile industry, forced Iliadis to bankruptcy and the football club merged with the team Anagennisi Epanomi. The most important highlight in the team's history was the participation in Greek Second division in the late 1990s. On Sunday August 9, 2009, Iliadis and his friend Emmanouil Tsakiropoulos (also a former agent of the amateur team Anagennisi Terpsitheas) were killed in a car accident that took place on the Thessaloniki-Katerini, national highway, near the bridge of the river Loudias. He was 59 years old.

Gallikos (Greek: Γαλλικός) is a river in Central Macedonia, Greece. It was known as Echedoros (Εχέδωρος) in antiquity and Gomaropnichtis (Γομαροπνίχτης) in Middle Ages. The current name probably comes from the ancient Roman colony Callicum (modern Kilkis) near the river. It rises in the Krousia Mountain and flows into the Aegean Sea in the Thermaic Gulf, near Sindos. It is 70 km (43 mi) long. Its drainage basin is 1,055 km2 (407 sq mi).

Kalochori (Greek: Καλοχώρι) is a village and a community of the Delta municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Echedoros, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 4,672 inhabitants in the village. The community of Kalochori covers an area of 32.127 km2.

Diavata (Greek: Διαβατά) is a town in Central Macedonia Greece. A community of the Delta municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Echedoros, of which it was a municipal district. The community of Diavata covers an area of 8.967 km2 (3.462 sq mi).

Diavata refugee camp is a military-run refugee camp located in Diavata, a community belonging to the municipality of Delta, Central Macedonia, Greece. The camp opened on 24 February 2016 to host Syrian, Afghan and Iraqi refugees fleeing the Syrian civil war, the long-ongoing Afghan conflict and the Iraq War. The camp has capacity for 2500 refugees and as of 1 July 2016, hosts 1,744 refugees in 171 tents and 134 RHUs (Refugee Housing Units).The former military camp of Anagnostopoulou was reconverted in the current Diavata refugee camp, producing protests by about 800 neighbours of Diavata, that opposed the creation of a refugee camp in their village.On 21 April 2016 a fire presumably started from a cooking fire. The strong wind and the proximity between shelters resulted in the burning down of 25 tents, with some refugees losing part of their belongings, including clothes, passports or money. Some people were treated due to smoke inhalation, but no injuries were reported.A refugee living in the camp stated to receive only a juice in the morning, noodles with a bread for lunch and nothing for dinner. He also reported that some tents host two or even three families, and that single men are accommodated in the building on the territory.

Nea Mesimvria (Greek: Νέα Μεσημβρία) is a village in the west suburbs of Thessaloniki, Greece. It is part of the municipality Chalkidona. Its population was 3,050 in 2011.
