Allegheny General Hospital is a large urban hospital located at 320 East North Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the larger Allegheny Health Network.

North Side (sometimes written as Northside) refers to the region of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, located to the north of the Allegheny River and the Ohio River. The term "North Side" does not refer to a specific neighborhood, but rather to a disparate collection of contiguous neighborhoods. The neighborhoods that make up the North Side of Pittsburgh include: Allegheny Center, Allegheny West, Brighton Heights, California-Kirkbride, Central Northside, Chateau, East Allegheny, Fineview, Manchester, Marshall-Shadeland, North Shore, Northview Heights, Perry North, Perry South, Spring Garden, Spring Hill–City View, Summer Hill, and Troy Hill. The North Side has seven hills (Observatory, Monument, Troy, Spring, Seminary, Fineview, and Mt. Troy).

Avery College was a former college dedicated to the education of African Americans. Avery College opened in 1849 and closed in 1873. Avery College was located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From 1863 to 1867 George Boyer Vashon was the President.Jonathan Jasper Wright received an honorary LL.D degree from Avery College.

Allegheny Social Hall located at 810-812 Concord Street in the East Allegheny neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1903. It was built at a time when this area was part of the city of Allegheny, Pennsylvania. The building was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2003.

Aberlie House at 122-124 East North Avenue in the Central Northside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was likely built circa 1880. It was added to the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations on February 13, 2001.

The Hanauer-Rosenberg residence is located at 417 Lockhart Street in the nationally and locally historic neighborhood of Deutschtown in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Built in 1888 in the Richardsonian Romanesque architectural style, the building was the residence of Pauline Hanauer-Rosenberg, founder of the National Council of Jewish Women. In March 2020, the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission awarded a State Historic Marker at the residence to recognize Rosenberg's work. Also in 2020, the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office determined the residence eligible to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In May 2020, Preservation Pittsburgh nominated the residence to be considered a City of Pittsburgh Historic Landmark and in July 2020, the City of Pittsburgh's Historic Review Commission determined that this nomination was viable.

The Henderson–Metz House is located in the Fineview neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The house was built circa 1860, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The IBM Building, also known as the East Commons Professional Building, is an office building in the Allegheny Center neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1975–6 as part of the Allegheny Center urban renewal project, which razed over 500 buildings to build a modernist shopping, residential, and office complex. It originally housed offices for IBM, replacing the old IBM Building in Gateway Center, which had been sold to the United Steelworkers. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2026. The IBM Building consists of a nine-story rectangular block, clad in glass and aluminum curtain walls and raised on pilotis above a recessed ground floor. According to the National Register nomination, the building is a notable example of International Style architecture. It was designed by the firm of noted modernist Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, though Mies himself had died in 1969. Bruno Conterato (1920–1995), one of three students of Mies who continued the firm after his death, was the architect of record.

The Workingman's Savings Bank & Trust Co. Building, located at 800 East Ohio Street in the East Allegheny neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1901. It was added to the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations on March 10, 2009. Formerly a Mellon Bank until 1971, the building was sold to the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh with plans to convert it to a church. However, the expense of the project proved too costly and it was instead donated to the ARC House rehabilitation center network. The building remained their headquarters from 1976 to 2006. It is currently vacant.

The Heathside Cottage in the Fineview neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a Gothic Revival structure built between 1864 and 1866 for the family of stonemason and civil engineer James Andrews. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church located at 1400 Boyle Street in the Central Northside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1903. This African Methodist Episcopal Church was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1988.

The New Hazlett Theater is the primary occupant of the Carnegie Free Library of Allegheny in the Allegheny Center part of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After the Pittsburgh Public Theater moved to the O'Reilly Theater in 1999, the Hazlett Theater was transformed into the New Hazlett Theater and opened in 2004. Since 2013, the Theater has also been home to the Community Supported Art (CSA) Performance Series, designed to help support new and upcoming artists in the Pittsburgh area.
