The school was identified as a site of public exposure during a 2019 measles outbreak, with the public being exposed to the vaccine-preventable illness Jan. 8–9, 2019, which forced the schools to close and the children to go home.RHL was initially founded in 1996 in Camas, Washington, emerged as a pioneering educational initiative designed to cater to the diverse needs of east county families, who were actively seeking an alternative and distinctive approach to their children's learning journey.
