Meadowridge Library is a public library in the suburb of Meadowridge, in Cape Town, South Africa. It has 8,112 members, and was ranked 14th in the City of Cape Town's top 20 circulating libraries in 2014, out of the city's 101 libraries.The library, established in January 1960, is open 45 hours a week, and currently provides work to 11 employees and 10 volunteers. It offers books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and magazines for loan. The library holds 78,106 items. Meadowridge is a suburb in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. It is the second garden city in Cape Town and was officially opened on 23 March 1955. Local shopping centres are Meadowridge Park 'n Shop and Meadowridge Shopping Centre (the first shopping centre). Nearby schools are Bergvliet Primary School, Sweet Valley Primary School and Bergvliet High School. Close by is the local football club, Meadowridge AFC. Meadowridge is home to the Meadowridge Library, one of Cape Town's top circulating libraries, which serves Meadowridge and surrounding neighborhoods. The Meadowridge Sports Association, chaired for many years by Guy Taylor is the custodian of the football fields, the forest and the building currently occupied by the Sunny Skies nursery school. Meadowridge resident testimony... Over the last 10 years the football field was closed in with fencing to prevent the local community from damaging the football ground for the odd match to be played irregularly. Older residents would remember the site as a place to visit and have fun with their children but the high fences now make it seem like a protected fortress.

Bergvliet is a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. Bergvliet, which means "Mountain Streamlet" in Afrikaans, is bordered by Retreat, Meadowridge, Tokai, and Heathfield. Bergvliet is home to three schools: Bergvliet High School, Bergvliet Primary School, and Sweet Valley Primary School. All three of these schools were built in the late 1940s and early 1950s. There is a very active neighbourhood watch called BKM which stands for Bergvliet, Kreupelbosch and Meadowridge which has grown to include other neighbourhoods over the years. The rate payers association BMRA is also very active and fights to protect and develop the area. The suburb is close to good hospitals and shopping centers.

Die Oog Conservation Area is a tiny 1.2-hectare (3.0-acre) nature reserve within the city of Cape Town, South Africa. It is located in the suburb of Bergvliet in the southern portion of Cape Town and includes a lake with an artificial island, a wetland, a garden and a small area of indigenous and endangered Peninsula Granite Fynbos. The recreational area has been planted with indigenous trees such as the unique and striking Silvertree (Leucadendron argenteum), and the wetland is one of the few remaining breeding grounds of the endangered Western Leopard Toad.

South Peninsula High School is a secondary school in Diep River, a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. The school celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2010, after opening in 1950. South Peninsula High School accepts many students from historically disadvantaged areas in Cape Town including Mitchells Plain, Grassy Park, Lotus River, Heathfield, Strandfontein and Retreat. The school is twinned with Great Sankey High School, in Warrington, England, and used to run an exchange programme for staff and students.

Heathfield is a suburb in Cape Town, South Africa.

Retreat railway station is a Metrorail station in Retreat, a suburb of Cape Town. It is a stop on the Southern Line, and the terminus of the Cape Flats Line. The station is located next to a terminus of Golden Arrow Bus Services and a large minibus taxi rank, forming a major transport interchange for the South Peninsula region. The station building is on the western side of the line, attached to Platform 1. Platforms 2 and 3 are on an island. The platforms are connected by two pedestrian bridges. In normal operation, Platform 1 is used for northbound trains (travelling towards Cape Town), and Platform 2 is used for southbound trains.
