Kirstenhof is a residential suburb located in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

Bergvliet is a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. Bergvliet, which means "Mountain Streamlet" in Afrikaans, is bordered by Retreat, Meadowridge, Tokai, and Heathfield. Bergvliet is home to three schools: Bergvliet High School, Bergvliet Primary School, and Sweet Valley Primary School. All three of these schools were built in the late 1940s and early 1950s. There is a very active neighbourhood watch called BKM which stands for Bergvliet, Kreupelbosch and Meadowridge which has grown to include other neighbourhoods over the years. The rate payers association BMRA is also very active and fights to protect and develop the area. The suburb is close to good hospitals and shopping centers.

Die Oog Conservation Area is a tiny 1.2-hectare (3.0-acre) nature reserve within the city of Cape Town, South Africa. It is located in the suburb of Bergvliet in the southern portion of Cape Town and includes a lake with an artificial island, a wetland, a garden and a small area of indigenous and endangered Peninsula Granite Fynbos. The recreational area has been planted with indigenous trees such as the unique and striking Silvertree (Leucadendron argenteum), and the wetland is one of the few remaining breeding grounds of the endangered Western Leopard Toad.

Retreat railway station is a Metrorail station in Retreat, a suburb of Cape Town. It is a stop on the Southern Line, and the terminus of the Cape Flats Line. The station is located next to a terminus of Golden Arrow Bus Services and a large minibus taxi rank, forming a major transport interchange for the South Peninsula region. The station building is on the western side of the line, attached to Platform 1. Platforms 2 and 3 are on an island. The platforms are connected by two pedestrian bridges. In normal operation, Platform 1 is used for northbound trains (travelling towards Cape Town), and Platform 2 is used for southbound trains.

Blue Route Mall (often referred to as simply Blue Route) is a shopping mall situated in the predominantly residential neighborhood of Tokai, in the Southern Suburbs region of Cape Town, South Africa. Blue Route is one of Cape Town's oldest malls, having opened in the 1970s. It was completely rebuilt in 2012, to create a more modern, functional mall, based on community needs. The mall features 137 stores, including a variety of restaurants and take-out chains, as well as both covered and uncovered parking totaling 3,000 bays. It is easily accessed by the nearby M3 freeway, and M4 road.

Meadowridge Library is a public library in the suburb of Meadowridge, in Cape Town, South Africa. It has 8,112 members, and was ranked 14th in the City of Cape Town's top 20 circulating libraries in 2014, out of the city's 101 libraries.The library, established in January 1960, is open 45 hours a week, and currently provides work to 11 employees and 10 volunteers. It offers books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and magazines for loan. The library holds 78,106 items. Meadowridge Library's holdings can be searched online via the City of Cape Town's Open Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)Meadowridge library is in close proximity to a number of schools, including Bergvliet Primary School, Bergvliet High School, Westcott Primary School, Sweet Valley Primary School, and the American International School of Cape Town. The library serves a large community, with many neighboring suburbs not having libraries of their own.

Meadowridge Common is an 8-hectare (20-acre) reserve in the Meadowridge suburb of Cape Town, South Africa, which preserves a fragment of critically endangered Cape Flats Sand Fynbos vegetation.The preserve contains over a hundred plant species, including 4 that are endangered. The endangered Cape Rain Frog (Breviceps gibbosus) is one of the many small animals that have been seen here. In spring, the park becomes very colourful as the indigenous fynbos bursts into flower. This small reserve is managed by the City of Cape Town, but faces considerable challenges. Not least of which are invasive alien plants such as Pine trees and Kikuyu grass. The reserve’s small size and isolation from other natural areas also make species extinction a much greater risk.

Steenberg is a small community in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. It has a population of slightly more than 4,000 and mainly includes those belonging to the Cape Coloured community. The main center of the suburb is Military Road, which runs from west connecting Tokai and Kirstenhof at the M4 Main Road and then east into the M5 which provides access to Muizenberg and various other northern suburbs including Bellville and Century City. Military Road has many small businesses lining its south side but also one of South Africa's largest retailers, Shoprite, which has a branch located close to the M5.

Tokai, a large residential suburb of Cape Town, South Africa, is situated on the foothills of the Constantiaberg, (a large whaleback shaped mountain in the Table Mountain range) and is bordered by Steenberg and Kirstenhof to the south, Bergvliet to the east, Constantia to the north and the SAFCOL pine tree plantations against the mountain to the west.
