Bhuleshwar (Old spelling Bholeśvar) is a neighbourhood in Mumbai. It is situated in South Mumbai and to the north of the Fort area. It is known for being home to over 100 temples including Mumba Devi Temple of Mumbai, the patron goddess of the city of Mumbai and Swaminarayan Mandir. The area is also known for the Bhuleshwar Market for fruit and vegetable and is surrounded a number of old markets, like the Crawford Market for fruits and vegetables, Mangaldas Market for silk and cloth, Zaveri Bazaar, the famous jewellery and diamond market and Chor Bazaar, a noted market for antiques and furniture.Its near by areas are Kalbadevi, Girgaon, Princess Street and Mandvi. The former residence of Dhirubhai Ambani and family is also in Bhuleshwar, where they lived till the 1960s.The guide and historical study book, Alice in Bhuleshwar about the locality was published in 2009.

Zaveri Bazaar is a jewellery market and a major hub for B2B and B2C jewellery industry in Mumbai, India. Located at Bhuleshwar in South Mumbai, just north of Crawford Market, Zaveri Bazaar is a muddle of narrow lanes, dotted with hundreds of jewellery shops that sell gems and jewels, notably Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (TBZ), Dwarkadas Chandumal, Dhirajlal Bhimji Zaveri & UTZ. 65% of all gold trading and dealing in India is estimated to originate from the market. During the early 19th century a jeweller named Ambalal Zaveri was very famous for his great quality of gold, due to his death his great reputation slowly collapsed due to disputes between his sons.

The Jama Masjid is a mosque in the Kalbadevi neighborhood, near Crawford Market in the South Mumbai region of Mumbai, India. The Muslim community of Bombay possesses 89 mosques, of which 8 belong to the Bohras, 2 to the Khojas, one to the Mughals and the remainder to the Sunni Muslims.

Mandvi is an area in South Mumbai near Masjid Bunder. It is located near Pydhone. It has a high Muslim population. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries it had a small, but thriving Jewish community. The 300-year-old Gate of Mercy Synagogue is located in this Umerkhadi area of South Mumbai.

Dava Bazaar (also spelled Dawa Bazaar and Dava Bazar) is an area in South Mumbai famous for medical and scientific instruments, and lab chemicals. It is located near Lohar Chawl, Crawford Market and opens into Princess Street. Dava in Hindi means medicine. The word Aushadhi Khana has generic usage as pharmaceutical trade markets in various parts of India.

Cavel is a neighbourhood in South Mumbai. It is located to the northeast of Dhobitalao near the Chira Bazaar area. It got its name from the Koli word Kolwar. The Kolis of this village were converted to Christianity by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Cavel thus became a Christian enclave, and later immigrants of this religion, from Goa, Daman, Bassein and Salsette settled here. Two Portuguese churches are built here, Nossa Senhora de Saude, built-in 1794, presently known as Our Lady of Health, Cavel and Nossa Senhora d'Esperance. In later centuries, when the Christian population moved north, Gujarati and Marwari traders moved into Cavel.

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Mumbai (Marathi: श्री स्वामीनारायण मंदिर, मुंबई) is a Hindu temple (Mandir) and a part of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. This Swaminarayan Temple is located in the Bhuleshwar area of Mumbai and is the oldest Swaminarayan Mandir in Mumbai, being over a hundred years old.The present Mandir has a tri - spire structure and the Murtis installed are that of Laxminarayan Dev with Ghanshyam Maharaj, and Radha Krishna Dev with Hari Krishna Maharaj. In this temple, Radha Krishna are worshipped in the form of Radha Golokvihari as they are the residents of Goloka. It is a Shikharband Mandir and comes under the Laxminarayan Dev Gadi (Vadtal). This temple is one of many in the Bhuleshwar area that led to the birth of Phool Galli (or flower market) in Bhuleshwar due to the high demand of flowers in these temples.

Chira Bazaar is a neighborhood in Mumbai. It is famous for its jewellery and Marathi community. There is also a famous fish market called Chirabazar. It also has a wide range of Jewelry shops. Fanas Wadi / Phanaswadi is a neighbourhood in Kalbadevi, South Mumbai.It is known for its temple devoted to Lord Venkateshwara. The local folks call this temple as 'Lord Balaji mandir'. The name fanas is Marathi for jackfruit, probably pointing to a time when the trees grew abundantly here. The temple at Fanaswadi, Mumbai dedicated to the Lord of the Seven Hills Sri Venkateshwara was consecrated on 10 June 1927.

Crawford Market Fountain or Lockwood Kipling Fountain is a listed heritage structure in Crawford Market, Mumbai that was erected in 1874, and was designed by William Emerson, the British architect who also designed the market. The style is a mix of Greek Revival and Neo-Gothic, and the four carvings depicting the Indian river goddesses and native birds were done by John Lockwood Kipling (father of novelist Rudyard Kipling), who was the principal at Sir Jamsetjee Jeejebhoy School of Art.Originally, it was located in a garden courtyard setting and was meant to serve as a social space for merchants. The uncontrolled proliferation of shops around it led to a drastic change in setting, and today vegetable and fruit sellers often set up their stalls around it or use the structure to temporarily store their wares.In 1985, the crown of the fountain was damaged when a canopy was being raised over it. The Kipling river goddesses frieze was also painted over by someone with the intention to restore their "modesty", as claimed in a note left by the conscientious painter on the fountain. In 2016-17, as part of a larger project, restoration work was carried out on the fountain by a team led by conservation architect Abha Narain Lambah, but thereafter the structure continued to be used as a mini warehouse or a dumping site for plastic bags, water bottles or garbage.

Crawford Market (officially Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai) is one of South Mumbai's most famous markets. The building was completed in 1869, and donated to the city by Cowasji Jehangir. Originally named after Arthur Crawford, the first Municipal Commissioner of the city, the market was later renamed to honour Maharashtrian social reformer Mahatma Jotirao Phule. The market is situated opposite the Mumbai Police headquarters, just north of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station and west of the J.J. flyover at a busy intersection. It was the main wholesale market for fruits in Mumbai until March 1996, when the wholesale traders were relocated to Navi Mumbai. In 1882, the building was the first in India to be lit up by electricity.

Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital is a government of Maharashtra run free hospital in South Mumbai, India. It was built in 1875 thanks to the beneficence of Gokuldas Tejpal, a renowned Hindu businessman and philanthropist of Mumbai. Rustomjee Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy offered £15,000 for the construction of a native hospital in 1865 if the government would put in £10,000. A financial crisis however led to Rustomjee being unable to follow it. Arthur Crawford helped obtain the £15,000 from Gokuldas Tejpal and getting the government to build it. The building work began on 10 May 1870 and was completed on 8 April 1874. The original building was designed in early English Gothic style by Colonel Fuller. It used blue basalt facings with arches of Kurla stone, was paved with Minton's tiles and roofing with Taylor's patent tiles. Columns made of Kurla stone with caps of Porebunder stone. The current Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital has its old and new buildings. A new hospital was being built to be privatised but the project ran into problems due to land ownership issues and is currently being contested with the building works being completely shut down.
