Westover Air Reserve Base

The Air Force Special Projects Production Facility was a top-secret facility operational at Westover Air Force Base from 1961 to 1976. It was responsible for developing film from the Corona satellite program and other film projects that were top secret. The facility was co-located with the 8th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron and developed the film used during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was also the primary production facility for the National Reconnaissance Program during this time. The facility was also in charge of the Controlled Range Network, which served to calibrate Corona, Gambit, and Hexagon satellite programs.

Chicopee Memorial State Park is a public recreation area covering 562 acres (227 ha) in the Burnett Road neighborhood of the city of Chicopee, Massachusetts. The state park is located directly southeast of Westover Air Reserve Base, which is visible from some parts of the park. It is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The Westover Air Force Base Hospital is a former hospital at Westover Air Force Base. With the closure of the base in 1974, the hospital closed. The buildings were torn down in the early 1990s.

The Stony Brook Power Plant is a petroleum-fired power station located in Ludlow, MA on a 350-acre site. It was the first power plant in Massachusetts to use combined-cycle technology.It is owned by a number of parties, but the majority of it is owned by the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC). The plant consists of two generating units. The Stony Brook Intermediate Unit generates 354 MW of electricity with its three combined-cycle turbines that can burn either petroleum or natural gas. The Stony Brook Peaking Unit is a 172 MW peaking unit which runs during periods on high demand using petroleum. These units provide electricity to 24 municipalities in Massachusetts.

Indian Orchard Station, is a power plant located in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts, USA. It uses primarily pipeline natural gas and, as a secondary, fuel diesel oil. It's currently registered with the EPA under the name MASSPOWER (facility ID 10726).

On June 27, 1958, a Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker attempting to break a world speed record crashed shortly after takeoff from Westover Air Force Base, killing all 15 aboard the plane.

The Myrtle Street School is a historic school at 64 Myrtle Street in the Indian Orchard neighborhood of Springfield, Massachusetts. Built in stages between 1868 and 1915, it encapsulates changing trends in school design over that period of time, and is a good example of a school building with Second Empire and Classical Revival features. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It has been converted to residential use.

Lupa Zoo is an 18-acre (7.3 ha) privately owned and operated zoo located in Ludlow, Massachusetts, United States. The zoo was created by Henry Lupa, who emigrated from Poland, started a landscaping business, then a construction business, and was finally able to create the zoo.

The Indian Orchard Branch Library is a historic branch library at 44 Oak Street in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Classic Revival building was constructed in 1909 to a design by John W. Donohue, and was the first permanent branch library building in the Springfield public library system; it was funded in part by a grant from Andrew Carnegie. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999; it continues to serve as a library as a branch of the Springfield City Library system.

Indian Orchard is a village in the City of Springfield, Massachusetts. Located in the northeast corner of Springfield, next to the Chicopee River, Indian Orchard is the city's fifth largest neighborhood.

Lake Lorraine State Park was a small Massachusetts state park located in the neighborhood of Indian Orchard, on the northeast side of the city of Springfield. The park was located on the southern shore of Lake Lorraine and once offered a sand beach, swimming, fishing, and restrooms. The state park has been unstaffed and closed since 2009 due to claimed budget cuts by the Massachusetts state government. The park was later quietly turned over for use by the Environmental Police as a satellite headquarters. The beach is now completely overgrown and all picnic facilities and State Park signage were removed sometime after 2014. Only members of the Massachusetts Environmental Police are allowed within the park property and the gates of the park are kept locked at all times. Thefts of unattended equipment left by the Environmental Police in June 2015 led to more aggressive prosecution of trespassers. Signs threatening state fines as well as an infrared trap camera were installed at the entrance to the park for some time. The park is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation

The Thomas D. Page House, also known later as the Belcher Lodge or the Chicopee Falls Masonic Temple, is a historic house in Chicopee, Massachusetts, USA. Built about 1875, it is a prominent local example of Queen Anne and Stick style architecture, built by one of the community's business leaders of the time. For many years it housed the local Masonic lodge. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988; it now houses an antiques business.
