Boston Road is Springfield, Massachusetts's principal commercial and retail corridor, located on the eastern edge of the city. The Boston Road neighborhood, historically known as Springfield Plain, is named for being a major waypoint on the Boston Post Road system.

The Myrtle Street School is a historic school at 64 Myrtle Street in the Indian Orchard neighborhood of Springfield, Massachusetts. Built in stages between 1868 and 1915, it encapsulates changing trends in school design over that period of time, and is a good example of a school building with Second Empire and Classical Revival features. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It has been converted to residential use.

The Indian Orchard Branch Library is a historic branch library at 44 Oak Street in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Classic Revival building was constructed in 1909 to a design by John W. Donohue, and was the first permanent branch library building in the Springfield public library system; it was funded in part by a grant from Andrew Carnegie. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999; it continues to serve as a library as a branch of the Springfield City Library system.

The Eastfield Mall was a shopping mall in Springfield, Massachusetts, which was owned by Mountain Development Corporation, and was built in late 1967 by the Rouse Company. The three anchors, JCPenney, Macy's, and Sears closed in 2011, 2016, and 2018, respectively. The movie theater, Cinemark closed in 2020. The mall was managed by Mountain Development.

Immaculate Conception Parish - Roman Catholic parish, designated for Polish immigrants in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts, United States. Founded 1904. It is one of the Polish-American Roman Catholic parishes in New England in the Diocese of Springfield in Massachusetts. Parish scheduled to close in 2009 but parish given an extension by the Bishop of Springfield to June 2010. The parish is seeking to become an Historical District to protect all the buildings. On September 18, 2010, it was announced that the bishop had accepted the parish's long-term plan and reconsidered his decision. Immaculate Conception will remain open.

Located along Boston Road -- one of Springfield's commercial thoroughfares, home to the Eastfield Mall -- the middle-class Pine Point neighborhoods features streets of cozy capes and ranches as well as some of the most interesting Craftsman style bungalows in the region. The neighborhood features Pine Point Library and city parks surrounding Five Mile Pond and Loon Pond, providing places to swim, fish, boat, and picnic. The High School of Science & Technology and Putnam Vocational High School are found in this neighborhood. The headquarters of MassMutual, a Fortune 100 company - one of Massachusetts' top 2 companies by $billions of earnings - is located on State Street in the Pine Point neighborhood.

Western New England University is a private university in Springfield, Massachusetts. Academic programs are provided through its College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Engineering, School of Law, and College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In recognition of its master's and doctoral programs, the institution officially changed its name from Western New England College to Western New England University on July 1, 2011. This marked the return of "university" to the school's name, exactly 60 years after separating from Northeastern University. It had long been classified as a university.

Golden Bear Stadium is a multipurpose outdoor sports facility on the campus of Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. It features a synthetic turf field. The 1,500-seat stadium serves as the home field for Western New England University's football, field hockey, and men’s and women’s lacrosse teams.Western New England University's football and lacrosse teams previously played their contests on the game field located near the St. Germain Campus Center. The field hockey team played its events on a grass surface at Suprenant Field.
