Forcalquier

The canton of Forcalquier is an administrative division in southeastern France. At the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015, the canton was expanded from 10 to 15 communes:

Forcalquier Cathedral, now the Church of Notre-Dame-du-Bourguet (French: Concathédrale Notre-Dame-du-Bourguet de Forcalquier; Église Notre-Dame-du-Bourguet), is a former Roman Catholic cathedral, and a national monument of France, located in the town of Forcalquier, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.Erected in the 12th century as a collegiate church, the cathedral of Forcalquier became a second seat of the Bishop of Sisteron in 1408, and for that reason is referred to as a co-cathedral. The diocese of Sisteron was abolished in 1801, after which the cathedral continued as a parish church.The nave, the choir, the transept and the cloister date from the early 13th century, representing one of the first examples of Gothic style in southern France. The bell tower is from the 16th century. The church houses a panel of the Triumph of Christ by Pierre Mignard.

The Université Européenne des Senteurs et des Saveurs (UESS) (English: European University of Fragrances and Flavors), located at the medieval Couvent des Cordeliers in Forcalquier, France, is a private university specialized in the study of natural aroma compounds, cosmetics and flavorings. Founded in 2003 by entrepreneur Jacques Bardouin, the university is distinct among perfumery schools in that its teaching focuses exclusively upon raw materials of natural extraction, often those produced locally. The institution offers a wide range of academic programs, from vocational training in agriculture and cosmetics to undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and science, taught in conjunction with Aix-Marseille Université. Also held on campus are workshops in perfumery and aromatherapy for professionals and amateurs alike. For the general public, the university frequently organizes exhibitions on the subject of scent, both at the Couvent des Cordeliers and abroad, partnering with the Osmothèque at venues including the Carrousel du Louvre and the Palais-Royal in Paris.

The arrondissement of Forcalquier is an arrondissement of France in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. It has 97 communes. Its population is 95,990 (2016), and its area is 2,605.4 km2 (1,006.0 sq mi).

Mane (French pronunciation: [man] ; Occitan: Mana) is a commune in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. It lies near Forcalquier. It was the birthplace of Louis Feuillée and the 18th-century botanist Jean-Paul de Rome d'Ardène. A Minim convent was situated here. The ancient Pont sur Laye is close by the town.

The Jardins de Salagon are a public park, museum and an ethnobotanical garden located in the town of Mane, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence Department of France. They surround the buildings of Salagon priory (12th century) and are classified by the French Ministry of Culture as one of the Remarkable Gardens of France.

The Pont sur la Laye or Pont roman de Mane (English: Romanesque Bridge of Mane) is an old stone arch bridge across the stream Laye in the French Provence close to the town Mane.

The Château de Sauvan is an 18th-century French manor located in the commune of Mane, near Forcalquier in the Department Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in France. The gardens of the chateau are classified as one of the Remarkable Gardens of France by the French Ministry of Culture. Privately owned, and classified as a French historical monument since 1957, the Château de Sauvan is sometimes called "The Petit Trianon of Provence," because of its resemblance to that building.

The Chapelle Sainte-Agathe is a chapel located in Saint-Maime in the French department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. It was erected in the 12th century.

Saint-Maime (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ mɛm]; Occitan: Sant Maime) is a commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. It is located in the Luberon national park and is home to the 12th century chapel Chapelle Sainte-Agathe.

Dauphin (French pronunciation: [dofɛ̃] ; Occitan: Daufin) is a commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. Michèle Bertin was reelected mayor of Dauphin in 2020.
