Lynnwood is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The city is part of the Seattle metropolitan area and is located 16 miles (26 km) north of Seattle and 13 miles (21 km) south of Everett, near the junction of Interstate 5 and Interstate 405. It is the fourth-largest city in Snohomish County, with a population of 38,568 in the 2020 U.S. census.Often characterized as a suburb or bedroom community, Lynnwood has the highest concentration of retailers in the region and a growing core of businesses, anchored by the Alderwood Mall. The city also has a community college, a convention center, and a major transit center. It is headquarters for several major companies, including Zumiez and SOG Specialty Knives. The Lynnwood area was logged and settled by homesteaders in the late 19th century and early 20th century, including the development of Alderwood Manor as a planned farming community. Lynnwood, named for the wife of a realtor, emerged in the late 1940s around the intersection of Highway 99 and 196th Street Southwest. The city was incorporated on April 23, 1959, and grew into a suburban hub in the years following the completion of Interstate 5 and Interstate 405. Alderwood Mall opened in 1979 and spurred the transformation of eastern Lynnwood into a retail and office district.

Lynnwood Transit Center, also known as Lynnwood TC, is a bus station and future light rail station in Lynnwood, Washington. It is the largest transit hub in southwestern Snohomish County and is served by Community Transit and Sound Transit Express. The transit center also includes a parking garage with 1,670 spaces and bicycle facilities. In 2024, Lynnwood Transit Center will become the northern terminus of Sound Transit's Link light rail system; the 1 Line and 2 Line will serve the Lynnwood City Center station as part of the Lynnwood Link Extension. The Link extension was approved in 2008 as part of the Sound Transit 2 ballot measure and began construction in 2019. The Stride bus rapid transit system will also terminate at the station, connecting it with areas along Interstate 405.

Soundview School is an independent school in Snohomish County, Washington serving children from Preschool through 8th grade. Soundview School is located on a 3+ acre campus in suburban Lynnwood, Washington, just north of Edmonds Community College. Soundview offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and is a candidate for the IB Primary Years Programme.

Donut Factory is a small chain of doughnut shops in the Seattle metropolitan area, in the U.S. state of Washington. The original shop operates in Lynnwood, and an outpost opened in Seattle's University District in 2021. Donut Factory offers dozen of doughnut varieties, as well as other pastries and desserts such as cakes, cinnamon rolls, crullers, fritters, maple bars, and ice cream sandwiches. The business has garnered a positive reception.

Central Washington University–Lynnwood is Central Washington University's satellite campus in Lynnwood, Washington, United States. Edmonds College and Central Washington University have worked together since 1975 to meet the higher education needs of Snohomish County. After earning a transfer degree online or on campus from any community college, students can continue their studies for a bachelor's degree from Central Washington University–Lynnwood in Snoqualmie Hall, a shared facility on the Edmonds CC campus. The bachelor's degrees include: business administration, accounting, law & justice, information technology and administrative management, interdisciplinary studies - social sciences.

Edmonds School District No. 15 is the public school district of Edmonds, Washington, United States. It serves the entire city as well as the cities of Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway, and Brier along with parts of unincorporated Snohomish County.

Edmonds College, formerly Edmonds Community College, is a public community college in Lynnwood, Washington. More than 17,000 students annually take courses for credit toward a certificate or degree at the college. The college employs more than 1,300 people, including 126 full-time and 283 part-time instructors and 267 students.

The Lynnwood Event Center is a suburban convention center located in Lynnwood, Washington, near Seattle. The $31 million facility opened in 2005 and is managed by Oak View Group (OVG). The convention center was first proposed in the 1980s, but was rejected by voters on three occasions; the formation of a public facilities district in 1999 funded its construction.

Meadowdale High School is a high school in the Edmonds School District, located in Lynnwood, Washington, United States. The school has students in grades 9 through 12. Meadowdale competes 3A in the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association after two years as 4A between 2004-2006. The school's mascot is the Maverick, though prior to 2000 it was the "Chiefs". 1997-1998 were the years of the school's last major renovations. The school's schedule is based on a 100-minute, 3-period block schedule, consisting of 1st, 3rd, and 5th periods on Monday and Wednesday and 2nd, 4th, and 6th periods on Tuesday and Thursday. On Friday, students go to all six classes for roughly 50 minutes each.

Northwest Theological Seminary was a theological seminary in the Reformed Christian tradition located in Lynnwood, Washington. It closed in 2018.

Mountlake Terrace High School is a public high school located in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, United States. Mountlake Terrace HS is known for its Jazz Band and basketball program, which has won the Wesco Championship eight times. It is the third largest high school in the Edmonds School District. Mountlake Terrace HS participates in the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, having reclassified from 3A to 2A at the start of 2016–2017 school year.

Mountlake Terrace is a suburban city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It lies on the southern border of the county, adjacent to Shoreline and Lynnwood, and is 13 miles (21 km) north of Seattle. The city had a population of 19,909 people counted in the 2010 census. Mountlake Terrace was founded in 1949 by real estate developers on the site of a disused airfield, intending to provide low-cost housing for veterans. Within five years, the community had grown to over 5,000 people and was incorporated as a city in 1954 to provide municipal services. An industrial park was developed at the northwest corner of the city, which was connected by Interstate 5 after it opened in 1965. Mountlake Terrace originally had several small shopping centers that declined due to the local economy and a pair of arsons in 1990. The city government began developing a downtown revitalization plan with mixed-use buildings in the 2000s, with hopes of growing beyond a bedroom community for Seattle commuters. The Mountlake Terrace Transit Center, a major bus hub, opened in 2009 and is planned to have Link light rail service in 2024. The city has several parks, including access to Lake Ballinger, and hosts an annual summer festival that is part of Seafair.
