The Mariamman temple (Tamil: மாரியம்மன் கோவில்) is located near the market in Ooty, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Mariamman is the local deity of the region. It is dedicated to Mariamman, the Hindu Goddess of rain.

Government Arts College is an arts and science college located in Ooty in the Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu, India. The college is located in a locale called Stone house hill named after the landmark building Stone House.

Adam's fountain is a public display fountain in Charring cross, Ooty. It was built in 1886 as a memorial to a Governor of Ooty, who was very famous in the region during his tenure. The total cost of finishing the fountain was between Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 14000, which was funded through public funding.

Breeks Memorial Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School is a Christian co-educational school established in 1874. It was named after James Wilkinson Breeks, the first Commissioner (District Collector) of the Nilgiris. It was erected for the children of Europeans and Eurasians by public subscription shortly after his death, as a memorial to his services to the Nilgiris community. The first non Christian principal and correspondent was N Raman. He headed the school for a very long time. The school is 1.5 km from the Government Botanical Gardens, Ooty.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ootacamund (Latin: Ootacamunden(sis)) is a diocese located in the city of Ootacamund (Ooty) in the ecclesiastical province of Madras and Mylapore in India.

Sacred Heart Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church located near the Botanical Gardens in Ooty (Udhagamandalam) in the Nilgiris district, in Tamil Nadu in south India. Built in 1897, it is the second oldest Roman Catholic church in Ooty, the oldest being St. Mary's Church. It was designated a cathedral in 1955 when the Diocese of Ootacamund was created.

The Government Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in Udhagamandalam, near Coimbatore (Ooty), Tamil Nadu state, India laid out in 1848. The gardens, divided into several sections, cover an area of around 22 hectares (54 acres), and lie on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak. The garden has a terraced layout. It is maintained by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department. It ascends the slopes of the hill at an elevation of 2250–2500 metres above mean sea level. The garden enjoys a temperate climate, with an average rainfall of 140 cm, the most of which is received during south-west monsoon, with frosty nights from November to February. The maximum and minimum temperatures are 28 °C and 0 °C respectively.

The Government Rose Garden (formerly known as the Jayalalithaa Rose Garden, Centenary Rose Park and Nootrandu Roja Poonga) is situated on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram of Ooty town in Tamil Nadu, India at an altitude of 2200 meters.

Yellanahalli is a small town located in the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu State, Southern India and is a Revenue Village of Coonoor taluk. It is 10 km beyond Coonoor and 8 km before Ooty on the Coonoor-Ooty NH 67. It houses the Needle Industries India the manufacturers of the internationally branded ‘Pony Needles’. Near Yellanahalli are another two villages called Ketti and Aruvankadu. The Ketti Valley is located to the south-west of Yellanahalli and is also sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of Southern India due to the year-round climatic conditions which do not fall into any extremes, during summer and winter.

Southwick is a suburb in Ooty town. It is located on the NH 67 road from Ooty to Coonoor at about 3 km from the bus stand in Ooty. The suburb falls within the Ooty municipality in Tamil Nadu, India. It has derived its name from the Southwick Bungalow in the suburb.
