The Lompoc Hills are a low mountain range in the Transverse Ranges, near the coast and Lompoc in western Santa Barbara County, California.Part of the range is located within the Vandenberg Air Force Base.

The Lompoc Valley Flower Festival is an annual flower festival held in the city of Lompoc, located northern Santa Barbara County, California. The event is organized and coordinated by The Lompoc Valley Festival Association, and is held annually at Ryon Memorial Park, for 5 days from Wednesday to Sunday on the last full weekend in June. The Flower Festival started in 1952 and is named after the commercial flower fields that used to be plentiful around the city and Lompoc Valley. The festival features a carnival, live entertainment, food, arts and crafts, and a commercial flower center. The event includes the crowning of a Flower Festival Queen, and the Flower Festival Parade on Saturday morning.

The Canyon Fire was a wildfire that burned on Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County, California during September 2016. By the time the fire was contained on September 24, it had burned 12,742 acres (51.6 km2) of land. Due to the nature of the activities that take place on the Base, there were a number of unique challenges posed during the fire including the presence of potentially hazardous materials.

The Lompoc Museum is a museum preserving and interpreting the history of the Lompoc area and is located in the town of Lompoc, California. The museum offers interpretive programs, exhibits, multi-media presentations and special events. The museum is located in a former Carnegie library building, built in 1910.

Lompoc High School is a public high school serving Lompoc, in northern Santa Barbara County, California, United States. It was first established in the small farming community in 1892. It is part of the Lompoc Unified School District, as is crosstown rival Cabrillo High.

Lompoc ( LOM-poke; Chumashan Purisimeño: lumpo'o̥) is a city in Santa Barbara County, California. Located on the Central Coast, Lompoc has a population of 43,834 as of July 2021. Lompoc has been inhabited for thousands of years by the Chumash people, who called the area lumpo'o̥, meaning 'in the cheeks' in the local Purisimeño language. The Spanish called the area Lompoco after Fermín de Lasuén had established Misión La Purísima in 1787. In 1837, the Mexican government sold the area as the Rancho Lompoc land grant. Following the U.S. conquest of California, multiple settlers acquired the Lompoc Valley, including William Welles Hollister, who sold the land around the mission to the Lompoc Valley Land Company, which established a temperance colony which incorporated in 1888 as Lompoc. Lompoc is often considered a military town because it is near Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Rancho Lompoc was a 42,085-acre (170.31 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Santa Barbara County, California given in 1837 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado to Joaquín Carrillo and José Antonio Carrillo. The grant extended from present-day Lompoc west to the Pacific coast.

Fiddlehead Cellars is a winery based in Lompoc, California specializing in Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir, producing an average of 5,000 cases of wine yearly. It was established by Kathy Joseph in 1989. Fiddlehead uses grapes from the Santa Ynez Valley AVA of Santa Barbara County, specifically the Sta. Rita Hills AVA for Pinot noir, and Oregon's Willamette Valley AVA. Winemaker Joseph has a graduate degree in Viticulture and Enology from University of California, Davis. Fiddlehead Cellars is a member of the Sta. Rita Hills Winegrowers Alliance and the Santa Barbara County Vintners' Association. Fiddlehead's 2003 Sauvignon blanc was featured prominently in the 2004 film Sideways. The 1997 vintage of this wine was also listed as a Top 100 Wine in the San Francisco Chronicle.Fiddlehead's Pinot noir has also been featured as a "top wine" on repeated occasions.

The Jack and Laura Dangermond Preserve is a nature reserve in Santa Barbara County California managed by The Nature Conservancy. The land is host to a variety of wildlife species, as it touches two major terrestrial and two major marine biomes. Animals from both southern and northern California mix territories in this area.
